SRCC Courses and Fees FAQS

Ques. Which SRCC programme is best for me: B.Com Hons or BA in Economics?

Ans. Most students are confused between these two SRCC programmes. The main difference between a B.Com Honours course and a BA in Economics programme is that B.Com Honours focuses on the application of theories of business and commerce, while the BA in Economics programme provides a theoretical basis for analytics within the field of economics.

Ques. Is SRCC's tuition affordable when compared to other private colleges?

Ans. SRCC's tuition is significantly less than that of most private colleges, primarily because it is associated with Delhi University. The annual tuition for UG courses is approximately between INR 25,000 and 28,000, which makes SRCC one of the greatest examples of value for money for commerce or economics majors who are concerned about the high cost of studying in these fields.

SRCC Admission FAQS

Ques. Is it tough to get admission into SRCC?

Ans. Because SRCC is exceptionally competitive, many students who perform well on the CUET are still anxious about getting selected. The most effective way to ensure that you will be considered for admission is to have a score that exceeds the previous year's score range.

Ques. Do I need to provide any documentation besides the CUET result for admission to SRCC?

Ans. Many students become anxious when it comes time for documentation submission. In addition to the CUET result, students must also submit the following documentation: (1) the CUET Scorecard; (2) the Class 10 and Class 12 Marksheet; (3) Category Certificate (if applicable); (4) A recent photo; (5) proof of identity such as a driver's license, student ID, etc. Documentation uploads are carried out online via CSAS.

Ques. Can I predict what the SRCC cutoffs will be for the year I am applying?

Ans. No one can predict what the exact SRCC cutoffs will be; however, by looking at CUET score ranges from the last two years, you can estimate where you stand. You should also look at how many students applied for the commerce and economics streams.

Ans. Yes, SRCC has several scholarships based on need. Some donors include alumni or foundations. Keeping documentation submitted early helps because many students lose the opportunity for acceptance because of delayed submissions.

Ques. How strict is the GPA requirement at SRCC for availing scholarships?

Ans. Most scholarships at SRCC require maintaining at least a 60% average to maintain the scholarship, which most students comfortably achieve. The intent is to encourage consistency, not to put unnecessary pressure on students to perform at their highest level consistently.

Which is better to do MBA - SRCC GBO or DTU DSM?

Bidita GhoseLives in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

An MBA from SRCC GBO is better than DTU DSM. My friend was a student of S.R.C.C. G.B.O and shared a few pros and cons of the program she experienced throughout her program.

Pros:

  • You get to associate yourself with the well-established SRCC brand name. The top companies safe well aware of this brand and flock here for placements.
  • SRCC has excellent infrastructural facilities some of which include a PA system, a projector, and centralized air-conditioning.
  • SRCC has a massive sports complex that was made for the commonwealth games. It has top-notch facilities like athletes’ changing rooms, a gymnasium, and much more.
  • GBO has a highly qualified and learned faculty pool. The majority of the professors are alumni of top institutes like IIMs and FMS.
  • Baking affiliated with Delhi University, SRCC shared many core professors with the FMS.
  • The placement scenario is great and some top recruiters include EY, Dell, HCL, Novartis, Baxter, DCM, etc. Some companies visiting FMS allow SRCC students to sit for placements.

Cons:

  • GBO is not an MBA but a Post Graduate Diploma in G.B.O.
  • SRCC is famous for its UG courses so the P.G.D.G.B.O. Program is yet to receive recognition.

The only thing I can comment on about DTU DSM is that the crowd quality is poor because of low cutoffs. Placements-wise too, DTU DSM takes the lead while SRCC takes the backseat.

Which is a better option, Goa Institute of Management or SRCC, Delhi GBO programme?

Praver Katyal
Aviral MehtaKC Researcher

The worth of a certain course is determined by what you are expecting from the course. GIM PGDM course offers a general comprehensive view of Management whereas SRCC Delhi GBO offers a less comprehensive course. GBO has been losing its charm and is going through a very bad phase. GIM on the other hand is recovering fast and is reestablishing its value.

Talking about fees, GIM has higher fees than GBO. This might be an important factor for you so with both options carefully before making the final decision.

Do SRCC students get into IIM Ahmedabad?

Utsav KamraCopy Editor at Careers360

Though Shri Ram College of Commerce has high cut-offs for admission at the graduation level, it is incorrect to assume that all SRCC students who pass the CAT exam will be admitted to IIM Ahmadabad. It is important to remember that work experience is highly valued at IIM Ahmadabad.

Many students from other colleges apply to prestigious institutes. Nothing can stop you from getting into IIM Ahmedabad if you are determined to do so. So remember that regardless of where you studied, you can still get into IIM Ahmedabad.

Which is the better option: SRCC or to pursue CA after standard 12?

Swati SinhaB.Com (Hons) from Shri Ram College of Commerce (2020)

According to the reviews online, SRCC is a much more reliable option than to pursue CA right after your class 12.

Here are some things that will be better if you choose SRCC:

  • SRCC will play a major role in developing your personality.
  • CA tends to limit your learning and knowledge to only classes and studies. But SRCC will give you a chance to explore and learn various industry related things.
  • SRCC will give you proper training which will be relevant when you join the industry.
  • Studying in a college is basically like working in a professional environment. You have to maintain punctuality and prioritize your work.
  • Lastly, even if you are unsure about studying CA, studying in a college will give you clarity.

Therefore, it is suggested that you opt for SRCC rather than rushing with the stress of being a CA.

Can I get admission in SRCC without studying Mathematics in class 12?

Bhavya Rawal
Nikita JainB.Com. Hons. from Shri Ram College of Commerce (2017)

Delhi University almost every year comes up with a different set of rules and regulations.

So even though you can get admission by securing 2.5% more than the declared cut off, however, the final list for General candidates was 97.25% last year. You might have to score a 99.75% in your class 12th examinations.

In case cut offs increase, you will need a perfect 100 in 4 subjects. So getting in is really difficult.

If you are not from the general category, then the cut offs will be lower and you might get through even without mathematics.

However, in the beginning, the admission requirements change often, hence you may never know that some small changes in the rules might get you in. So always follow the official website of DU for any updates.

How are we supposed to give our entrance exams if we finish our boards only on March 9th?

If your board exams finish on March 9th, you can still appear for CUET as the exam is scheduled after most board exams, in April or May. You should focus on revising NCERT concepts, practice mock tests, and manage time to balance board preparation and CUET preparation efficiently.

How much marks are needed in CUET entrance exam to take admission in SRCC College and also is there is any value of class 12 marks. I have doubt this because if I'll get less marks CUET So it will be compensated with the Class 12 marks and also I am the student of class 12 West Bengal board.

For admission to SRCC (Shri Ram College of Commerce), the CUET score is the primary criterion. Class 12 marks are also considered, but only for eligibility and normalization purposes, not as compensation for low CUET scores. Being a West Bengal board student, your 12th marks help determine eligibility, but high CUET scores remain essential.
