Course Curriculum Overview
My course is pretty decent. I have a keen interest in Business, Finance and Economics, so my first preference was Bcom. In the course, there are in total 7 papers which includes 3 core papers and 4 additional papers, i.e., General Elective, Skill Enhancement Course, Ability Enhancement Course and Value Addition Course. The additional courses have many options out of which you can choose one paper per course.
Internships Opportunities
Talking about internships, I don't have proper information of all the companies but in my first year, I got internship of HR+Marketing at Cognizen Innovations. We were given a project, assignments and presentations to do. My experience was quite enriching, I learned a lot!
Placement Experience
The Placements in my college are decent. In third year, the students become eligible for campus placements whereas there is a huge event named INCREMENTUM for job and internship fair wherein many HR mangers from companies and Non profit organisations like Cognizen Innovations, Pehchaan - The Street School, etc. takes interviews of interested students for internships as well as jobs.
Fees and Financial Aid
One of the most important aspects students look at while choosing a college is the fee structure, so here is my detailed experience till now from the Bcom programme at Daulat Ram College. When I took admission in the college, the fee structure felt a bit confusing as compared to other DU colleges. Although the fee structure was not explained year wise anywhere, so most of us relied on what we saw during admission. I have paid only my first year fee so far, which came to around Rs. 34,600. The first fee structure includes admission fee, tuition fee, library fee, examination charges and other compulsory dues. The college keeps the academic fee same for all categories (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS) but a relief is provided to students belonging to Kashmiri Migrants and PWD categories. All admitted SC/ST, OBC, EWS and PWD students in college who are eligibile for fellowships can opt for scholarship forms.
Campus Life
My experience with campus life has been good till now. The Annual Fest was named Jalsa, recently Seva Sankalp Mahotsav which is held by National Service Scheme. There are many fests which are held like Freshers, Diwali Mela, etc. which are really fun to go in. The library is spacious, quiet and a good place to study during free periods. It includes several academic and other books to read. The college has many societies like Womens Development Cell, Global Association of Economic Association, Tajagna the quiz society, debating society, etc. which are fun to be a part of.
Admission
I gave 2 Exams in total - CUET and IPU CET Exam. Before I was admitted to Daulat Ram College, I got my admission in JIMS Kalkaji first. I was not satisfied with the college but the course was good (BBA). But when CUET results were out, i was relieved. I got Daulat Ram College in the round 1 and i was satisfied. I clearly disliked JIMS so I withdrew the admission and then got admitted to Daulat Ram College. The whole Delhi University accept CUET scores. The cutoffs vary from category to category. It was 732/800 in round 1 for Bcom Programme.
Faculty
Talking about faculties of my course Bcom programme, the faculties are decent. They explain every concept very well. In first year, the faculties were pretty good. They are friendly and we can always reach out to them if we have any problem regarding the subject. And now in my second year, my Financial Management teacher is Mansi Kanojia Maam. She is a really good teacher, her teaching skills is literally the best!
Night Life
I have never experienced nightlike like in or around my college campus, but me and my friends have explored Kamla Nagar and Hudson Lane which are basically the best hangout spots. We went to Vaishnav Chat Bhandar which is our favourite spot now.
