college of vocational studies honest review

Likes

teaching faculty is good, they explain stuff in detail
fests are good, it's always fun like DJs etc.

Dislikes

infrastructure could be improved, for old building the ceilings, switchboards etc.
The ACs of girls common room and canteen don't work

I wanted to join the HR field as I think I'm good at managing stuff like resolving conflicts and planning things according to everyone The curriculum is in first year is just overview and stuff it doesn't really prepare you for real world applications yet they can introduce more activities that can help us learn to manage human resources effectively haven't given any exams yet so..

The friendly environment of the college provides a fresh feel to all new comers .
Teachers of this college holds a very good knowledge about their subjects and their way to teaching is expressive and easy

Dislikes

Water service is not that great, water from water coolers gets empty by 12:00 pm and children has to buy water from canteen
Cleanliness of the college is not upto mark

the is relevant for the first people when want to pursue insurance and related fields in future. insurance sector and laws related to that are well explained and has a deep understanding. the cours is not that difficult. the thing that matters is your interest in that field.

College of Vocational Studies: A Missed Opportunity

My college is the only college in University of Delhi offering Vocational courses like SME , Tourism, HRM ,MMI that gives students enrolled in these courses to get decent job after their graduation
As per my own course , History hons. Faculty is very generous and all of them are expert in their own domain. Most of them solves our doubt in class and always mentor us

Dislikes

Admin office is really really very bad .Admin staff is very rude in behaviour. They have a tendency to give exam form only a day before exam & many times they have lost exam form of students
There is water problem in entire college, water taps do not work , water cooler is most of the time broken

*The reason why I chose History hons. Was because of the vast curriculum it offers me that are Indian history from prehistoric era to Indian independence, history of Europe, History of USSR, History of Japan , History of United States of America, History of Africa and History of Latin America *History curriculum in bachelor's prepares us for further studies in Master's and PhD , UPSC and NET -JRF *History Exams are taken semester wise two times a year .They are moderate neither too easy nor too hard

I like the most is environment of the college is very good and history department facilities are one of the best classes and teachers always on time and the quality of education is just wow I appreciate this thing a lot .
Quality of social interactions is okay okay but if you are working in any society than you can improve your social interactions, faculties are very supportive and teaching methods is very good they would make you understand as you want.

Dislikes

It's administration service is very poor,they don't listen students,there is no accountability of admin office for anything that is worst thing,They lose our admit card and they are not ever ready to take responsibility.
Sometimes there are so many classes like back to back classes that may become hectic sometimes

Course Curriculum Overview:

Suggestion is , don't always teach from the books and notes try to make students understand from different different perspectives that each one can understand. Timeing is appropriate and also the level of exam is average not even very tough or not easy .

Fee is very low compared to any private college.
Societies and club of college are active.

Dislikes

Infrastructure is not upto marks.but otherthen old building and other are decent.
Company comes for placement most of sales and marketing.

Placement Experience:

In fifth semester students become eligible for compus placements and 100+ companies and 100-200 offer made by them in college all course.the average package 350000 around in all course in colleges.10% percentage of student get placed.

Things i liked is the college environment
I liked the other students in the campus

I don’t like the time table management here
I don’t like the college as it don’t have auditorium

Students become eligible for the internship program from the 1st semester as this college provides so many opportunities. And the placements here in college are good and societies are specially dedicated for the placement and internship

Life at CVS

Likes

The ground is nice the crowd is nice the canteen is nice and its food os very affordable and so is the fees of the college per semester and the landmarks near the college is really nice too. Overall its nice
There are many societies and festivals which make the college and campus experience really grest

Dislikes

The infrastructure is not the best and there is a need for ACs
Sometimes people can be a bit judgmental

My experience as a first year student in CVS, DU

Likes

The only college providing vocational courses
College has a girls common room and boys common room

Dislikes

New building has not yet been opened despite the construction has been completely
Exam timings for the students pursuing vocational course are 2:30 to 5:30 which makes it too hot in summers

Course Curriculum Overview:

I'm pursuing Human resource management and as I have mentioned before CVS is the only college providing vocational courses. The reason I chose this course is it is skill based and also i wanted to have a career in HR field. The comprehensiveness and understanding of this subject is quite good, it covers topic that one studies in his or her MBA. Their are areas that need to be improved like practical applicability of the subjects that we are taught, the college should take initiatives to let students use the learnings in a real world scenario by providing them internships or by taking them to corporate visits. The exams are conducted semester wise and their difficultly level is moderate. The exam timings for vocational courses is 2:30-5:30 p.m
