Faculty

The faculty student relationship in college is very good and friendly. Teachers are approachable and students can ask their doubts without any hesitation. There is also a proper mentor–mentee record maintained for every student, because of which students can even share their personal or academic problems comfortably. Among all the teachers, I really like Dr. Divya Singh. She is a teacher who takes lot of initiative in the classroom. She regularly asks questions, keeps students engaged, and explains concepts in a very simple and clear way. Because of her teaching style, even difficult topics become easy to understand. She also prepares students well for exams and gives proper guidance on how to write answers. However, I did not like the approach of one teacher very much because she is extremely strict about attendance, sometimes it creates a bit pressure on students. The college follows the semester system. The exams are of moderate level, and any student who attends classes regularly and studies sincerely can pass easily. Overall, the curriculum is relevant and provides a good basic understanding of commerce subjects.

Campus Life

My overall campus experience has been good. One of the major highlights of the college is the annual event called Damodarshree, which is usually held every year on 11th October. It is a well-known debate competition where students from reputed institutions like IITs, DU, and BHU come to participate. The event is quite competitive because participants are given cash prizes, and the first prize goes up to Rs 2 lakhs. The college also organizes various quizzes and academic competitions throughout the year. The college library is well-stocked with a wide range of books related to commerce and other subjects. Even older edition books from the past 10 years are available, which is helpful for reference and exam preparation. In terms of extracurricular activities, sports events are also organized.Cricket matches between teachers are conducted. Classrooms are decent for regular learning, though there is still scope for improvement in infrastructure.

Faculty

The relationship of most of the facilities with the students is very good, except with some. Faculties from the Environmental Science and English department. There is some teachers which I don't like, their way of teaching is just worst. They just came with the approach of completing syllabus only.

Campus Life

Divyotsav and annual fest are held by the college, also the freshers party for the new year students. Library are just awesome, provides range of the books for the academic and for overall development. There is a sports society in the college who conducts and organised sports events in the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

Generally in this college is very good and strict regarding the disciplines. The overall environment for the development is also good. But some teachers need to change the way of teaching, because we feel like they are teaching to robots, they came and started giving lecture and tell students to note everything which they are saying. Usually we face problems while the exams gaps.. uneven gaps are there in between of two subject's exam.

Campus Life

Fest like divyotsav and cultural are organised by college every year. Also the freshers party are organised. There is good opportunity in sports field also, the facilities provided by the college is just awesome - smart classes are there, proper lightning, WiFi services etc. There are many societies which helps students to do in which students are interested, they also participate in other colleges and won trophy.

Placement Experience

Placements in my college are decent but not very high compared to North Campus colleges.Students usually become eligible for placements in the final year with decent cgpa and good skills. Some companies visit the campus for roles in sales, marketing, finance and HR. The average package is moderate and only a limited percentage of students get placed through campus. Many students prefer internships during college to gain experience and earn extra money. Some also plan for higher studies like MBA or prepare for competitive exams which I also do I personally plan to gain work experience first, earn some money and then go for higher studies. Overall, placements are average but hopefully they will increase in future.

Faculty

The faculty members of my college are qualified and supportive. Most teachers are approachable for doubts. The faculty number is decent. The faculty which I liked very much was my financial management teacher Sonam,I liked her because her behaviour towards students were very polite and kind. The faculty I didn't liked was my company law teacher Shivani as she was very rude, egoistic and unhelpful, she even less marks to students just because she found them arrogant. The difficulty level is moderate and the marking scheme is fair, however I feel more practical exposure and industry learning should be provided to students.

Faculty

Faculty is very good , they have a good relationship with students they are quite approachable. I like Aditi Goel mam who teaches Law ,because of her calmness and way of teaching. I don't like Shivani Thakur ma'am because she never takes her class on time like if her class is on 1 pm then she rescheduled the class online for 9:30 pm and didn't take students advice whether they are available or not.

Placement Experience

Placements are quite well . Most of the students are placed with the average package of 4-5 LPA . Companies like KPMG , Deloitte, Pwc and many more come to college and offer students. And with the time the placement cell of the college also conduct an event regarding placement and intership which approaches around 200-250 companies to come and give an opportunity to our students.

Fees and Financial Aid

4500 is the tuition fees and examination fees sums up to around 5000. All the other miscellaneous expenses sum up to around 4-5 thousand. People from cbse who score above 85 percent and people of MP board who score above 75 can avail the MVMKVY scholarship which requires them to only submit the caution money which is around 2500.

Campus Life

The college doesn't hold much festivals and events the college is more like a school for higher education. If you want to have fun and enjoy a college life you must go somewhere else because they only hold one fest in a year which is Tarang and I've heard it boring.

Fees and Financial Aid

I was enrolled before introduction of New Education Policy. The Course is structure for 3 years with yearly payments. The first year fees was Rs. 14,093. Second Year was 13,998. And Third year was 13,999. Talking about Scholarship, there is option for it upto 90% and depends on your marks. There is no structure bifurcated for admission fees or any other fees. These are the lump fees to be paid and nothing to be paid after it. But note after New education policy things has changed.

Campus Life

The overall campus experience was decent at that time. Actually I was a student who focused with studies only and ofcourse there was no extra curricular activities that time. But I tried to join the programmes held on Republic day and Independence day. The classrooms have no any technological things like smartboard that time. But the teachers way of teaching is such impressive that we don't find any need for such advancement.

Faculty

The faculty 2 student ratio is well and good in this college and the student Teacher relationship is very friendly and teachers are really supportive and approachable in nature. The faculty I like is Seema Chaudhary mam because she is a very supportive and understanding teacher and the faculty, I don’t like is Kavita Yadav because she doesn’t listen to any student and speaks rudely. The exams are conducted semester wise and they are moderate in nature. If a student focus in Classes, he can pass easily.

Campus Life

Shaheed Bhagat Singh evening College conducts its annual fest called SAPTRANG every year, though the College doesn’t have enough funds to call a celebrity, but still the student union manages to held a very enjoyable fest with a nice band. The Library of our college is spacious and have important books available. All the College societies of this college are really active and they are student led.

The facult to student ratio is well good. And with mostly teachers, students build a friendly and safe relationship. And mostly teachers are really supportive and approachable. For me, the best faculty is seema chaudhary ma'am, she is accounting faculty, really cooperative and supportive I don't like kavita yadav ma'am, she never listens and just casually calls anyone anything without any hesitation.

Course Curriculum Overview

The bcom curriculum is designed by the Delhi university and covers core commerce subjects accounting, taxation, management, etc. I have interest in commerce, thats why i chose this I think theory subjects should be modified as they are really boring and content is repetitive Exams are conducted every semester

Campus Life at pgdav college was full of fun and learning Various fest and vocational drives are also organised by the college. Library of the college is well maintained and has all the required books that one needs during the course Also apart from course books there are many books for competitive exams and overall development of a child Various clubs are there in the college like eco club , nss , placement cell these has helped a lot with boosting the confidence level of mine .

Course Curriculum Overview

Bcom that they offered was good enough to prepare one for the real world applications as various examples and field activities were also conducted by the college at that time . Teacher student ratio should be taken care of along with lethargic teaching methods like lecture method . Exams were held every 6 months and the difficulty level was easy.

Ques. What is the full form of Phd.? Can I opt for a PhD after completing my BCom and MCom?
V
Varnika Raturi
Mar 18, 2024 18:11

Ph.D. stands for Doctor of Philosophy. A Ph.D. holder is eligible for a professorship at the college/university level. Apart from that, Ph.D. holders contribute to the field of research and development. Ph.D. is a research-based course that you can pursue after your master's. This means that you can opt for a Ph.D. after your MCom, and not right after your BCom. Different colleges have different eligibility criteria for PhD admissions. You can sit for the UGC NET exam to qualify as a JRF/Assistant Professor after your MCom.
