Course Curriculum Overview

I had listened a lot about this college which is not in the favour of college but when i got the admission everything here is different even better than whatever i heard. The frequency of the exams is 5 . On the first day of orientation there was a CA who was the chief guest who gave a real speech about the real world.

Campus Life

The most famous here is the kalanjali festival which generally happens in every 3 years and the dandiya night which happens every year and is famous among students . I am really excited and looking forward to it.

Course Curriculum Overview

If you are aiming for finance or business for your future then go for courses like - Bcom. BBA, or Eco hons because these are the very first step to kickstart your career in these fields. Although bcom and bba is very basic but it is crucial to first have a clear understanding of your core subjects before entering into industry or corporate world. Keep your basics clear! And then you're good to go. However if you don't understand the concepts then it might not be applicable in real world . To avoid this, make sure to stick to the syllabus and try to understand it in a practical manner rather than just mugging up for exams. That is how it will benefit you in the long run. If we talk about improvement then they can create much better practical curriculum after the introdutof NEP to make the subjects interesting, practical exposure to real life problems is necessary. There are 2 semesters in an year under NEP and various mid sem tests assignments and presentations. Exams are average but back to back presentation and tests for semesters makes it little hectic but you will manage it somehow.

Campus Life

Overall experience is good but north campus vibe is way better. Gargi college has various fest like Diwali meal - Zistatva, and other programs throughout the year which include various seasonal as well as cultural festival giving it a diverse culture. Library is average to good and contains wide variety of old course books relating to concepts of commerce, politics, science and political science. Being a sports student, I'm an active member of the sports association and it is advisable to join as many events as you can to remain active and healthy apart from just studying. There are various student-run clubs as well in which you can take part to explore new areas and network with more like minded people.

Teacher students ratio is around 1:90 which create some challenge in personal attention of teacher but the teachers are well educated and they try to give proper attention to the every child. I like Neeraj sir the professor of accountancy his concepts are very good and every student like him because of his nature and study methods my course structure is that we have 6 semester in 3 year course. All of them are good but some of them also are rude to the students.

Campus Life

The college life is quite decent but not very best as the college gives you proper school vibe with dress code, they are also very strict for attendance. But their are some events also like merakimedia fest, oajh annual fest, and many study fair, cultural programs. There are no any clubs but we only have placement committee. There are many sports events and extra curricular activity like sports event- cricket, football.

Course Curriculum Overview

A very much scope in the future and after doing the BCom, we can do MBA from the recognised Christ University so that we can achieve our goals The exam is little bit difficulty as the question paper is prepared by the Bangalore University and the corrections are done by the Bangalore University and there is a difference between the correction of the Bangalore University and the Karnataka Pu board

Campus Life

in the setting, they organised the programmes for the first year, like the freshers day, Swathi Vijaya and functions to inaugurate the first year students and they conducted sports day, cultural day, and many other events which are useful for the students

There are many annual festival such divali feat, mahfil a terang, etc this festival organised between december to February. There are different types of books available, and there are also semester wise books available but they are not in good condition. Facilities and technological provision are not provided by the college within the classroom. There is a sports ground of basketball and football but they both grounds condition is very bad. There many social groups in SSNC such commania, placement cell, SSNC group, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees for most programs range between ?11,000 to ?14,000 depending on the course The fee includes tuition and general college charges, though specific heads like registration, lab, caution deposit, and development fees are not publicly itemized. All categories, including General, SC, ST, and OBC, generally pay the same upfront fees. However, students from reserved categories are eligible for various scholarships and financial aid.

Fees and Financial Aid

I pursued Bcom from this college and my experience was academically satisfying. Although the college didn't offer any placement opportunities or interships, the curriculam was well structured and theory focussed. The learning enviornment was peaceful and the library was sufficient for academic needs. Since it's a Government college, the fees was 84000 annually and in addition to that we had scholarship opprotunities as well.

Campus Life

Actually there were no college fests as such but we had a lot of classroom activities and there were a lot of times when college authorities took initiatives to teach us about social stuff. It was whole lot of experience and well never even felt the need to have fun societies or anything

Faculty

Faculties were easily approachable. very friendly with the students, And especially the principal was more like a friend who understand you in every way. No restrictions as such. Pooja mam was very cooperative and heard every student's advice and suggestions Jasprit mam had a very unique teaching style. Navin sir was too humourous on hard days The exams had a good pattern, enough to test your knowledge and not how much you have studied from the book. The assignments were practical, The tests were crisp.

Internships Opportunities

The internship opportunites were from various companies like EY, KPMG and other finance companies and agencies . The stipend somewhat ranged around 10000- 20000 So the internship eligibility was attendance at first and then you were given certain assignments like making a project on marketing strategies of known famous food chains etc. And then if shortlisted you had 2 other rounds before you actually land an internship. Some companies also focused on some special kind of tests

The fee structure is still same in college, students can also recieve scholarship by applying for it from UP Government. College extends help in applying for that. The course is pocket friendly.

In our college we were celebrating different festivals. We were also organising business fairs to understand the real market world. Also we were having a annual function named "Student of the Year" , in which there were three different rounds with different kind of activity. Also college was giving fresher's party for the first year students and fairwell party for the last year students. There was a NSS group in the college. In college's library we were getting so many books also books of our course also provided by the college library. So, we do not need to buy books from outside the college.

Ques. Which course is better: B. Commerce Hons or BA Economics Hons from DU?

● Top Answer By Divjot Bagga on 06 Oct 22

Ans. The answer to this question will rely on your future goals, what you compassionately dream of doing, and what you believe you will truly like. However, Economics Honors from DU is one of the best courses with exceptional scope and value in the corporate world. Everyone is aware that the University of Delhi's most prestigious course is Economics Hons. Rapidly rising cutoffs provide proof of this.  Additionally, compared to other courses, it offers higher placement prospects. Nevertheless, immense power entails great responsibility. It's not the kind of subject you can get by with just one night of studying. It necessitates commitment and diligence. Additionally, it is the most challenging course the university offers. So, BA Economics is the best option for anyone who is keenly interested in the subject.  BA Economics(Hons) is DU's most difficult yet prestigious course. As a result, if you are in the unreserved category, you will need a higher percentage. Try to get a score of 90% or higher to get into DU, and 95% or higher to get into DU's good colleges. In the end, it all comes down to your score.Read more

Ques. What is the passing criteria for B.Com (H) year 1 SOl DU?

● Top Answer By Sanjana Kapoor on 06 Oct 23

Ans. SOl DU’s first year exam of B.com isn't as tough as you might think. A few criteria for passing the first-semester exam are as follows:  To clear your first year, you need to score at least 33% in every subject, out of a total of 75 marks. Sounds doable, As long as you hit that 33% mark in each subject, you're on track to successfully move forward in your academic journey. Now, let's talk about the "what if." If, unfortunately, you score below 33% in any one subject, don't worry too much. You won't have to repeat the entire year. Instead, you'll need to give an ER (Essential Repeat) the following year, which is your second year. Here's the trick - try to aim for an ER in as few subjects as possible. If you have to give an ER for more than four subjects, then, yes, you'll have to repeat the entire year. So, as you dive into your first year, remember that success is within your reach. Stay focused, study hard, and aim for those 33% scores. Read more

Ques. Which DU college is better, Ramjas or Sri Venkateswara for B.Com?

● Top Answer By Samiksha Madan on 21 Jan 22

Ans. Both Ramjas and Sri Venkateswara are reputed colleges under Delhi University. According to the reviews online Sri Venkateswara (SVC) is better when it comes to commerce than Ramjas. SVC has better placements, faculty and overall exposure. Both colleges are very much involved in cultural activities and extracurriculars. If you are willing to opt for a science course then go for Ramjas, Commerce is better in SVC. They both have no strict rules to maintain a 75% attendance, you should just have enough to sit for the internals. Students who are unable to sit in the internals due to their involvement in clubs and societies have to submit an ECA to their teacher. This is possible in both the colleges. Ramjas has a better infrastructure than SVC. But all these do not matter much, if you are dedicated to your studies, you can succeed in any college. Choose the college nearer to you, the north or the south campus.Read more

Ques. Should I go for B.Com (P) from Motilal Nehru College or Shaheed Bhagat Singh (E) College?

● Top Answer By Ria Arora on 13 Jan 22

Ans. Motilal Nehru is a morning college whereas Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (SBSC) has both morning and evening colleges. At first, you will have to decide your preference for the timings. One of my friends graduated from Motilal Nehru College (Day) and has had flatmates studying in evening colleges. According to him their routines were completely different. So, the choice completely depends on you and which time of the day you are comfortable with. Motilal Nehru has a competent faculty, with spacious new buildings, library and good placements. They also have active societies such as Enactus, DebSoc, Archon Leadership Cell and others. Another benefit of being in Motilal is that it is located in the South Campus and is always crowded. This crowd attracts the building of proper hangout places. Its Satya Niketan market offers good places to eat and good coaching centers. On the other hand SBSC (E) would only give you the benefit because of its past reputation, good sports infrastructure and its proximity to Select City Walk. Therefore make an informed decision as this will be motivated towards the shaping of your career.Read more

Ph.D. stands for Doctor of Philosophy. A Ph.D. holder is eligible for a professorship at the college/university level. Apart from that, Ph.D. holders contribute to the field of research and development. Ph.D. is a research-based course that you can pursue after your master's. This means that you can opt for a Ph.D. after your MCom, and not right after your BCom. Different colleges have different eligibility criteria for PhD admissions. You can sit for the UGC NET exam to qualify as a JRF/Assistant Professor after your MCom.
