Course Curriculum Overview

5

I would rate the B.com course curriculum at Mulund College of Commerce very relevant and comprehensive. One of the main reasons I chose this college was because it is an autonomous institute which means it doesn't follow the old Mumbai University syllabus. The college designs its own curriculum that is regularly updated to match current industry needs. Our syllabus include both academic and practical learning. Apart from academics the colleges co-curriculum components like NSS, Zumba, Doodling, Landscaping, cartooning, Yoga, Carrom, Chess etc. which are compulsory for all students in helping overall personality development. Overall the course is modern scale oriented and very useful for both higher studies and further career opportunities.

Internships Opportunities

4

Our college, Mulund College of Commerce provides good internship opportunities to help students gain real world exposure along the academic learning. The placement and internship cell regularly shares openings in different fields such as marketing, finance, HR, operations, sales etc giving students a chance to explore various career paths before graduation. One of the well known internship opportunities offered was with The Leading Solutions, which conducted a winter internship programme for students across multiple domains. Another internship was offered by SSRC Pvt. Ltd located in Thane. Overall these internship helps students build confidence, improve communication and gain hands on experience which adds great value to our Bcom degree.

Placement Experience

4

Placements at Mulund College of Commerce are fairly good especially after the college received autonomous status. Some of the well known companies like Deloitte, KPMG etc visited. The average package is around approx. 3,00,000 per annum. In my case I'm currently pursuing CA along with my B.com degree so my focus is more on completing my CA course and gaining practical training rather than the immediate placement. The college provides a good support for students like me through flexible schedules, guidance and internship exposure. Overall, MCC prepares students well for both employment and professional qualifications helping us build a strong foundation for future career growth.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am pursuing a B.com degree at Mulund college of commerce Mumbai which is affiliated with the university of Mumbai. The fee structure for plain bcom course is quite affordable. The total fees of a year is average of around Rs 11,850 mainly included tution fees, admin fees, exam fees etc. The college also offers several scholarships and financial assistance schemes. These include Government of Maharastra scholarships for SC, ST, OBC and Minority students. Some deserving students also receive freestyle concessions or fee reimbursemwnts based on their academic performance. Overall the fees are reasonable and college ensures that financial constraints do not stop any deserving students from continuing their education. The fee structure may increase slightly every year as per university guidelines but remains quite affordable for most students.

Campus Life

5

My overall experience with campus life at Mulund College of Commerce has been lively, engaging and full of opportunities to grow. The environment here is vibrant and students enjoy health mix of academics ,cocurricular and cultural activities. The colleges main annual cultural fest, 'Spectrum' takes place between December and January and its one of the most exciting events of the year apart from that, the Marathi Vangmay Mandal (MVM) hosts events that promote Marathi literature and culture making campus life even more inclusive. The library is a strong point of the college it offers a vast range of commerce, economics and management books along with access to digital resources, ebooks and journals for reference and research. The reading hall is spacious and very convenient during exam time. The classrooms are clean and comfortable with projectors to make teaching more interactive. Though the campus is compact, its well-maintained and effectively used. Students are also encouraged to join various clubs and committees such as Economics Club, Accountancy Club, NSS. Nature's Club etc which organize activities, workshops throughout the year. Overall campus life in at MCC is active, friendly and provides the right balance between academics and fun.

Admission

I chose to perceive my B.com degree at Mulund College of Commerce because of its strong reputation, disciplined environment and modern autonomous curriculum. Before taking admission here I was in k j somaiya for 11th and 12th but chose MCC as my degree college because it was closer to my home, had a better academic atmosphere and offered a more skill oriented syllabus after becoming autonomous. Compared to other colleges MCC stands out for its updated course structure experienced faculty and focus on practical learning. The admission process at mcc straight forward and completely online after registering on the University of Mumbai portal, students have to fill out the college administration form on the MCC website and upload necessary documents. Admission is based purely on merit of class 12th percentage - no entrance exam is required for B.com. The cutoff for open category is usually around 80- 85%, though it varies slightly every year. My overall admission experience was smooth and the staff was helpful throughout the verification and payments process.

Faculty

5

The faculty at Mulund College of Commerce is one of the main strengths of the college. The faculty to student ratio is quite reasonable and most teachers manage to give personal attention despite large class sizes. The faculty - student relationship is good, teachers are approachable and many of them take extra effort to solve doubts after lectures or during free periods. The B.com course is divided into Six semesters. The exams are Moderately difficult only a small number of students fail mostly due to lack of preparation from their end.

Night Life

2

Since Mulund College of Commerce is a day college, the campus doesn't have much of nightlife inside. The college timings are generally from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM depending on lectures and activities. The library and reading room usually closes by 6:00 PM and the canteen winds up around 5 to 6:00 PM. There is no hostel facility so most students either live nearby or travel from other parts of Mumbai. However, the area around the college has a lively and safe atmosphere, especially in the evenings. Students often hang out at small cafes near Mulund Station. There are also many affordable street food stalls. Overall while MCC doesn't have on-campus nightlife, the surroundings area offers plenty of safe and fun options to unwind after a busy college day.

As I'm a CS student, I have started this course as medium for my graduation for doing college. i barely go to college as being focused on my other course. But as far as I've seen the faculties must improve some aspects of the curriculum and have a great relationship with students, when the student is unable to speak in any internals the faculties must not only listen but sometimes correct them with a little push which might help them and complete there work
