MSCW, DU honest review

I am from B.Com and subjects are divided appropriately with a right mix of practical and theory subjects in all semesters. Being a commerce student, all the subjects are relevant and we also have Income Tax, Financial Modelling as a core subject which really helps. I would like to suggest to add compulsory corporate internships to gain exposure and real experience.

Mainly unpaid NGO internships are offered for marketing, social media, graphics role. Few paid for second and first years. But day by day opportunities are getting better and bigger so overall internship scenario is decent

From 5th semester students become eligible for campus placement. Placements are pretty average and mainly business development executive roles are offered (for bcom )with decent packages. Auditing roles are also offered. Good companies do come but for limited batch of students. I am not aware of the specific numbers

Fee structure is on expensive side as compared to other DU colleges. But yes they do provide scholarships. I am in my third year (bcom) and I paid 25k. Previous year fees was around 25-27k. Apart from this, every semester we have to pay examination fee around 1200-1500.

Saarang is the annual fest, and there are multiple departmental fest and events. They are good but better fests happens in other DU colleges. Many societies are active. NSS and NCC is famous. Enactus is also there. Cultural society is also popular among DU. Library collection is decent. Most of the books are there. Sports scenario is dull.

Honestly, MSCW was not in my preference list in first place. Due to average CUET Normalised Score, I couldn't make it to North or south campus colleges. Admin was calm and supportive during my admission. You need to give CUET to get an admission here in any course. Cutoff is moderate.

I don't know the ratios. But the faculty is nice especially of commerce department. Exams happen twice in a year and 2 mid-sems. Apart from this regular assessment and presentations for each subjects. I am from bcom and my course curriculum is relevant. And I have not seen any student so far to get an F grade.

No night life because there is no evening batch..... Only morning batch Cafeteria and library is open till 5pm.... CP and janpath are 10-15 mins away. No security and safety issues....easy metro and bus access
