About SLC DU
Shyam Lal College is recognized as a co-educational constituent college of Delhi University. It was established in 1964 by the great visionary and entrepreneur Padmashree (late) Shri Shyam Lal Gupta, the then Chairman of Shyam Lal Charitable Trust. SLC focused on imparting quality education to students, particularly to the girls belonging from East Delhi’s underprivileged communities. It provides special Remedial and Spoken English classes regularly for students who find it difficult to keep pace with the curriculum.
SLC DU offers 11 undergraduate courses in the fields of Science, Commerce and Humanities and 1 postgraduate course in Hindi. Admission to UG courses is based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) followed by e-counseling. Candidates seeking admission to PG courses are required to appear for the CUET PG.
As per the NIRF Report 2023, a total of 415 UG students and 4 PG students were placed during the placement drive. The median package offered to UG students was INR 3,80,00 LPA while the median package for PG students stood at INR 3,55,000 LPA.
SLC has a highly qualified and professional faculty team of 132 teachers and a non-teaching staff (including temporary faculty & non-teaching staff) of 87 members. The college campus is spread across 29,501 square meters of land. Its infrastructure and other academic facilities have been upgraded to meet the growing pedagogical needs. A new building named the Porta Block has been one of the recent additions to the campus infrastructure. It holds a state-of-the-art seminar room with ICT facilities and a capacity of 100 seats. Besides this, the campus also has 7 well-equipped undergraduate laboratories, staff room, library, office and canteen.

- Library: The SLC has a well stocked library that maintains 76,000 books and has subscriptions to journals on diverse subjects with an OPAC facility to make the task of locating books easier for the students and the faculty. The library also has a fully air conditioned knowledge resource centre.

I chose BBA ( general) with this course bcz shyamlal college is very famous as I think and the faculty staff is best for student, and one of the main thing for student is travelling system.... This college is very near of Welcome metro station so we can travel with metro to avoid disturbance... Let's talk about admission process-- we have to visit college or a website then choose a course which you're going to do.. then fill the form with double check ... We have to upload our documents like 10 and 12th marksheet... Or if you wanna enroll offline classes I strongly recommend to apply for scholarship in shyamlal college... Because they run several schemes for those who scored better than other in their 12th

- The Library of college is amazing and college also provides reading room as well which is easily accessible by everyone
- The rooms in new building have proper infrastructure and also have proper benches whereas in old building big rooms doens't have benches as per college students as they're small

- Increased fees and is at outskirts of Delhi like without any good facilities they are charging more feed than SRCC or even a north campus college. Whereas some off campus colleges are good at infrastructure facilities
Admission:
The admission process is through CUET score as per the system of University of Delhi. And this college comes under top 30 colleges available. I didn't choose this college and I got it by fate or destiny whatever just at the spot round with zero hopes because I had taken admission in Sol and it was fruitful to be there as there are various other advantages as well. But choosing a regular college in off campus I don't think so it's a good choice as it demands not only fees but also commuting time which I don't think so worth that much a whole day for 3 hours approximately. Although for North campus experience and south campus as well it makes a good choice but only 2 or 3 off campus colleges are well maintained and well organised

Admission:
I applied to various other north campus colleges of delhi umiversity, as per my assessment my marks were not enough as a general category student to clear the cutoff of top colleges like sri ram college of commerce,hindu college,etc. These colleges are much better than the college I am currently in they, have better faculties, better placement and better alumni network. admission process is pretty easy one has to register for the cuet (common university entrance test) (UG) the national level exam. Opt out four subjects one language and three other major subject one has studied in class XII. After the result of cuet one has to fill the online admission form on (DU) website and fill a preference of colleges they want and then wait for the university rounds.If selected they can freeze or upgrade their selection once they freeze their selection they just need to pay the admission fees/first year fees and that's it.

- I liked greenery and cleanliness maintained in the college. Our college is completely neat and clean and have lots of tress, planes and grounds.
- I liked the behaviour of the seniors towards freshers. Everyone in the college is helpful and kind. Yes you'll find every type of people every where but, our college is really safe and secured.
Dislikes
- I disliked the high fees of our college. For the same facilities, north campus colleges fees is very less than compared to our Shyam Lal College.
- I disliked the speed of teaching of some teachers. There are few teachers who just teach to complete their syllabus in less time and don't clear much doubts of the students.
Admission:
You can get Shyam Lal college only by your CUET marks and CSAS seat application system of Delhi University. If you have scored low marks and didn't expecting a good North Campus College, then, Shyam Lal could be a great choice and life changing moment for you. Yes, it's an off campus college with high fees but it is near to Welcome metro station and there are all facilities available you need to survive!

I take admission in shyam lal college of du though the entrence exam of cuet and I score in this exam approx 400 marks out of 800 and this is the best college in this marks and the college in didn't take admission is very high cut off and my marks are not good..

I chose this college over some other colleges because my course is maths hons and the maths department of my college is better as compared to the maths department of many other colleges and the infrastructure and other opportunities of my college are pretty good. The admission process of my college is pretty simple, once you get a seat allocation all your documents and papers are auto verified by the faculty members, if there is any issue in your documents you simply get a query from the college and you get some time to resolve that query and once you do that you only have to pay the college fees of your course and then that fee receipt becomes your proof for entry in the college and then after all this process you only have to wait for physical verification of your documents, once that is done your admission is completed.

Depending on the previous year cutoff data of Shyam Lal College (of CUET UG ), the expected cutoff score required for admission to B.Com. Honors is 746.9. This is lesser than the 2022 cutoff when it was 776.
