Course Curriculum Overview
Firstly i had an inclination towards Computer Science. The faculty of CS is awesome with teachers having a good knowledge about their subjects.The curriculum is good and teaching styles of the faculty is also good. Two to three test are taken for internals with exams in last .
Internships Opportunities
Did not do internship but got to know that over 350 students from our batch were hired for internships, with stipends ranging from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 40,000 per month . Top recruiters like Godrej, Snapdeal, and Decathlon have come to our campus, offering profiles in fields like marketing, finance, and more. When it comes to placements, our college has an impressive track record. The highest package offered during the 2023 placement drive was a whopping INR 36 LPA, with an average package of INR 5.70 LPA .
Placement Experience
The placements begin in thirs year. Top recruiter were KPMG Global Services, EY GDS, D.E. Shaw Group, Genpact Enterprise Risk Consulting, JLL, Accenture, HCL, NTT DATA, UNIQLO. As a first year i dont know much but my plans after getting a degree is to do masters in Computer science and secure a good placement or offer in any of the big IT companies.
Fees and Financial Aid
Total fee for the first year in Dyal Singh College , DU is 16100 rupees for BSc. CS Honours , and the fees will decrease in the forthcoming years as per the infromation given by my seniors.All economically weaker section students including SC / ST/OBC / Minority /PwD /General are eligible for the fee concession and financial assistance.
Campus Life
Dyal singh college has an annual fest called Priyadarshini which is managed by the college and its societies.The college also has a huge library with a variety of genres and amples space for studying reading and just sitting .Societies for dance , music , acting are presenr with many more socities.Me being in Zest Dance Society has a hectic college life but its good as we have a lot of fun while the studying part is bit compromised.
Admission
I opted for Hamsraj , Ramjas , SGTB , ARSD . I got 518/ 800 so north campus was out of reach but due to not getting the preferred course in ARSD I chose this college because it was one of the top colleges for the expertise of Computer Science. Secondly the fees was affordable and also the college had good placements for honours and is huge in terms of campus size.
Faculty
As a first year student and being enrolled in CS the faculty to student ratio is 1:80 . The faculty is nice and polite and very approachable.The computer science faculty ig great with teachers being experts in their field.The exams are of 90 marks theory for core and 30 marks for internal assesment.
Interview Experience
There were no Group discussion , interview or written test. You only have to give cuet and get more than 550 marks for CS honours course in this college. To apply in noth campus 650 marks plus should be scored in order to recieve admission in college.
Night Life
The college does not have a gym that i know of but has a huge football ground . A larget sitting area. A huge library. Basketball and volleyball court . A large canteen with good menu and right price.Hostels are not there . Famous place around college is lodhi garden , Maggi point, and ample smount of street nesr metro station.
