Likes

Scholarships like nsp etc are provided to students by applying to respective forms and staff is helpful.
The helpful faculty of the college which provide the students with valuable information and inside into the academic knowledge needed to succeed in life . the understanding of the teachers towards the students.
Placement cell is very supportive and number of companies they have manage to bring to the table is great.

Dislikes

The teachers teach well, but due to low strictness levels and no discipline there is high irregularity of attendance and students don't attend classes properly.
Faculty is little bit not so qualified. but they are so much arrogant.
The faculty to student ratio is approximately 1:60 in core subjects and it goes slightly lower for the electives.

Dyal singh - In my POV

Likes

Our college area is biggest in south campus of Delhi University
Our college has a well mentioned and organised amphitheatre
Our college faculty is also being good for most of the courses

Dislikes

The old building of the college is not so good
The sports Material available in our college is not too plenty
There is no common room for boys in our college

Placement Experience:

The college provide placement of 5,00,000 per annum if we take a average in companies like Deloitte, Accenture, Genpact, bajaj and other banking companies like HSBC and Axis Bank. Almost, 40 % students get placed in BCom from our college

For every subject even it is VAC or SEC there is a teacher authorised by our college so you can choose whatever subject you want

Dislikes

Our college infrastructure is very old it should be modernised
Our college canteen is unhygienic to some some extent

Placement Experience:

Our college provides a decent placement as per current scenario. Now we have seen that there is a downfall in our placement of all top colleges like IIMs and IITs. Companies visited in our college includes Deloitte Accenture Genpact bajaj etc Almost 30-40 % student placed in commerce faculty

Life in Dyal Singh Collage

Likes

The campus is very vast and lively with large grounds.
There are a large number of societies which are very active as well.

Dislikes

The infrastructure is very old and need renovation.
There is lack of discipline in the collage.
The ratio of boys is very high in comparison to that of girls.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum of the course includes core subjects such as Financial accounts,Bussiness law and Management principles in the first semester and four optional subjects.It is very helpful for carrier paths such as CA and CS.It gives us knowledge in managing our finances.The curriculum can include more practical knowledge.

Likes

The college's crowd is diverse and mixed
The faculty is really good, specially the commerce department
The societies are working continuously and are active towards their work

Dislikes

The infrastructure could be better, specially the old building
The canteen space is too short, just for 30 students

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say, the curriculum is also good, like we have labs, and tutorial classes also, in which students get their answers and their doubts are solved. Area of improvement - There should be proper labs of python lecture classes.

My college

Likes

The campus is quite large with a vibrant environment.
It has good connectivity as it is near to metro station.
The college societies are very actively working

Dislikes

Academic block is decent but some buildings are old.
There is no hostel facility for students.
The college canteen food is very average.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of the college is quite active. Many companies in the past have recruited from the college with average package of 5-6lpa and highest being 35lpa. Aroumd 50-60% students appear to get the placements.

Likes

The professors out there are really great with ample amount of knowledge in their field.
Societies and extracurricular activities are very active offering great exposure and opportunities.
The fee structure is very affordable facilitating education for all.

Dislikes

The infrastructure, washrooms and canteen need maintenance.
No placements for non technical courses.
Administrative workings are very slow at times.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is fairly good with kpmg, Deloitte, Genpact, Accenture. The average package usually ranges from Rs 5-6 LPA while highest have gone to Rs 23 lakhs in recent years. The placements are bagged by proactive students usually with good communication skills and academic records.

Dyal Singh College is definitely a great college!!

Likes

Fees affordability as no other DU college is as affordable as ours.
Placements are nice as we are assisted not just for placements but intenrships as well.
College helped me get intenrships after my 1st year which I was still a fresher and i will always be grateful to my college for that.

Dislikes

Ranking index has never put Dyal Singh College in top 10 colleges and college should improve to be in top 10.

PWC, Icici Prudential and like wise companies which needed students for finance and accountancy roles offers placements to students. Many new startups too have started coming and this has made placements percentage shoot up in recent past.

Dyal Singh College: The Good, The Bad and The Confusing

Likes

The first positive that comes to my mind is that Dyal Singh has a well balanced gender ratio with equal numbers of boys and girls.
The college offers a good number of societies which offer plenty of extracurricular opportunities.
The placement cell of DSC is also pretty active so even if the college doesn't provide you with good internship opportunities, the cell will surely compensate for that.

Dislikes

The crowd is not nice because of the dominance of Jaat and Gujjar Groups which sometimes leads to unnecessary clashes in the events of DSC
The Campus Infrastructure is not well maintained with issues like unhygienic washrooms and overcrowded classrooms.

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Dyal Singh College will teach one humanity.

Likes

Our identity and library card are same and hence we don't have to carry different cards.
Placements are quite effective and also most students from our campus end up paying jobs.
College area is also quite bigger than most colleges.

Dislikes

College don't have any commercial kr residential complex nearby.

Placements here are so good because our placements department cell students are quite active on LinkedIn and have managed to get almost 70-80 colleges on board. Average placements of B.Com at our college is around 5 lakhs or so as of now.

The college’s infrastructure was really good and impressive, giving students all the necessary requirements weather its sports ground, amphitheater, gym and etc
The faculty of my college was also good and the teachers give there 100% to get students learn about everything about the course.
College’s societies were also great, I was a part of 3 societies music, theatre and NGO. They provide students with all the exposure required to upskill oneself

Dislikes

The thing which i disliked about my college was that the canteen is not that good and it can be improved in the terms of sitting arrangements and price of food items.
Placements offered by the college is not up to the requirements of the students, if the company came to offer placements it only offers assistance to science students.
The office department of the college is so slow and delay the work of the students which hampers their daily requirements.

Because i only got inrolled in this course as I didn't had maths in my +1 and +2 classes so I didn't get bcom hon course and i got enrolled in bcom program. Faculty members and better and very supportive to students
