Since most colleges enroll students on the basis of merit, candidates are advised to procure high percentages in the PCB subjects in their higher secondary schooling.

Admission to institutions taking entrance exams into account comprises of two main steps:

Exam Score:

  • Scoring a percentile more than the required cut-off can help in being shortlisted right away. Students must take note of the cut-off mark decided by each college and work hard enough to achieve that score in the entrance exams.
  • Practice for an entrance exam must not stop just because one has tackled some mock question papers. There is still room for improvement and candidates must keep practicing consistently.

Personal Interview (PI):

  • Students must upgrade their communication skills, critical thinking and current awareness, as these are some of the criteria being tested during this round.
  • Participation and certification in various extra-curricular activities such as clubs, sports, and NGO volunteering can be an addendum to the list of merits.
  • Be updated about the dates of registration and examination, and apply before the deadline.
  • Prepare well and in advance for the entrance exams.
  • Always be aware about current affairs.
  • Make sure to practice the necessary skills for the interview/group discussion held during selection.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fees was around 15,000 for one year. The fees was paid simultaneously for two semesters at once. The exam fees was separately charged which was Rs. 300. Other charges like library, lab, etc were included in the fees. The fees was same for all the categories. For my course there were not any scholarship facilities. Thile fees for almost all the Bsc courses was around the same figure. The mode of payment was online. For other charges were to be paid offline.

Faculty

The faculty was decent. The ratio was around 1 to 25. In my course math and physics faculty were really good. The evaluation was based on practical and theoretical exams. There were also marks for attendance, internal test, and assignment for each subject.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is very good and engaging always .. the way the teacher/ faculty step by step go forward with the whole course is appreciable. Some areas that can be improved is that some teachers deny providing the pdf for the material taught . But I guess it is for the good of the student's and so it is ohkay . The exam timing is 6 months and sometimes frequent class test and viva are taken which are helpful enough .

Faculty

The faculty in the college is very polite and approachable alwayss . Also they are friendly enough and are expert in there fields . They never step back in solving the doubts of the students and always clear the doubts . They are always available for the convenience of the students. Actually the faculty members of the gargi college are always available and are good enough . With no negative aspects according to me.

Faculty

In our department the faculty to student ratio is ok like for life sciences we get 2 teachers each for botamy zoology and chemistry . Also we have ge which is general elective with a separate teacher of separate department and also dse sec and vac there are all separate teachers. The faculty is very good and kind they are easily approachable. You ahve them in all the groups of your class you can also text them personally for a serious issue. There are usually 6-7 exams per semester as i am in life sciences course i have botany practical exam botany theory exam then zoology theory exam and zoology practical exam then chem theory exam and chem practical exam and also dse disciple specific elective exam which is also practical and theory both then a lang exam which is only theory no practical. Then we have sec ( skill enhancement course) whuch is again only a practical paper then we have vac ( value added courses) which we can choose the paper some have both theory and practical exam

Campus Life

The campus life is much better we have several events and fests there are separate fest for each department. And also the annual college fest with the name lehren which happens in the month of feburaray. Overall we have lots of societies which one can join for getting different exposure. We have many different clubs too.The library is very big and the i think almost all the books are available in that we have an air conditioned library with a separate reading room where one can read or do their work peacefully. The labs are in a very good condition they are well equiped with all the things needed.we have projector in evey class. Sports is another that our college does not lack behind in you can join the sport of your interest we also have coaches for that.

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum was perfectly designed to cover each and every aspect of life sciences, since our course had all Zoology, Botany and Chemistry, there was wide scope and several practical applications. One thing that need improvement is we were taught cell biology in final year in the last year , One more nice thing was that we used to have one additional subject in each semester that helped us gain additional knowledge like, IPR, EVS, Green Chemistry, Medical diagnostics, English.

Faculty

Professors were very informative, most of them had completed their phd and had done several research projects and even now they are continuing their research in college and are inspiring students to do the same, soem Professors are pursuing their phd now .Teachers are very approachable ,even our college had a mentorship program under which they used help us in even our personal matters apart from studies. In almost evey class we used to have 2 teachers , increasing interactions.

Placement Experience

The college has a specific department which looks after the placement and internship related ventures for the students. The placement cell is basically run by students and teachers staff to provide placements to the students who wish to join. A bunch of companies participate in the placement process such as Redseer , Deloitte , KPMG etc. The placement process takes place from the 5th semester onwards. The average package accounts for upto 3 lacs per annum , whereas the highest package can reach upto 8 to 9 Lacs per annum. In the life science course students generally opt for higher studies and go for research of educational fields

Campus Life

The college has a lively atmosphere primarily due to the number of clubs , societies and associations fostered by the college. The college has an annual fest Mosaic. Weekly , around 2 3 fest are being hosted on the campus by different societies. This provides immense exposure to the students and help them in their multidimensional growth as well. There are ECA societies catering to the needs of the passion of the students. The sports facilities are extremely good at the campus with proper and well maintained gyms. The library is one of the best things in the campus with AC Facilities and wide variety of books.

Faculty

There are 54 students in my class. The faculty staff is highly educated and they are very good with all students. The teachers are very helpful and cooperative in nature. I often interact with teachers and their approachbility towards every student is highly recommendable.

Fees and Financial Aid

14000 is the annual college fee for my course including all services. Various types of scholarships are available in the college like National Scholarship Portal. Our college is a government institution, that's why the fee is not so high as compared to other colleges.

Placement Experience

2nd year students become eligible for campus placements. The placement cell of our college is not that good. It's quite okay for commerce and arts, but it's worse in science. It provides placements with average salary of INR 3.6 Lakhs per annum and that too only those students which have great CGPA can get it. Name of the companies visited are Sharekhan, India skill capital, Unnati, Livesberg technologies, Skillarena technologies, etc.

Faculty

The faculty-to-student ratio is good. We have experienced and qualified teachers. They are good and helping and provide us with all the necessary details and information regarding our exams. Classes are conducted on a regular basis and the teachers are punctual. We can easily approach them to ask doubts. We can ask doubts either in college during the class or on phone calls/messages i.e. they are easily approachable.

Course Curriculum Overview

As I was a student of Life Sciences, which includes chemistry, zoology and botany as the core subjects, it was very productive and informative studying these subjects as you are being exposed to 3 different fields in the same amount of time as an honours student would face. Some might think that studying 3 different subjects may divert your mind and you'll not be able to focus on one thing but let me tell you one thing that this is the age when you're most productive, versatile, so choose asany fields as you can, work in as many things as you can. And most importantly there is so much scope after life sciences, you can enter into any field be it microbiology, biotechnology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, forensic science, applied chemistry, taxonomy, molecular biology, genetic engineering. And about the relevance of the curriculum, the curriculum that Delhi University provides for life sciences is in accordance with the real world applications and further academic pursuiits.

Faculty

The qualifications of faculty members do vary. There are some professors whom I may call "passionate teachers", who are willing to help their students and ready to solve their doubts, be it academic or anything outside that. They are highly qualified (GATE, IITJAM etc.) and help in doubts related to semesters as well as other entrance exams. But exceptions are always there. There are teachers who, no doubt, are highly qualified but there is something lacking in their teaching way. The perspective of rating any teacher differ from person to person. You may also come across some teachers who rarely take classes and are usually off their work. Overall, the faculty members of Delhi University are highly qualified, experienced and helps students in academic as well as non academic matters.

Campus Life

Till now my college life is quite good and I really appreciate that. The main thing in college is fest and society and you will get every society in our college which you can choose according to your qualities and interest. The annual fest of college is known as RHAPSODY which majorly held between February - May and then we have departmental fest. The library is good and you will find majority of the books. Majorly all types of sports are available and you can also get admitted through sports quota.

Course Curriculum Overview

So my course is BSC (Program) Life Science as for this course you have three parent department that is you have to study zoology, botany and chemistry. For students who chose PCB in their class 11 and are confused which field to go this is the best option. As this course will provide you knowledge in all the three subjects so later you can choose which path to follow for your masters. Exams - Held 2 times in a year and the question paper is mostly based on pyq. So pyq helps a lot

Internships Opportunities

•I didn't participate in any internship in my first year. I've spent my first year knowing my college. What are the semester exam criteria, the department, and how many hours and efforts do I need to put in to score better? Everything. I'm looking to enrol on internships for 2nd year. •Yes, many internship opportunities are available in DU. The student needs to stay active and keep a check on all messages sent in the groups. • LinkedIn is a really helpful app. Paying ample attention to LinkedIn posts can help you enrol on an internship. • Plus, the chances of providing wrong information that is usually spread via WhatsApp messages are comparatively much less. • Even if the internship is unpaid, students can put some extra efforts and achieve medals along with LOR (LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION). This fosters your experience for more opportunities.

Campus Life

The Fresher's is held mostly in October. The Diwali Fest is also held. The most awaited season of the DU; The Fest Season begins in January end and lasts until March. Each college holds its own Fest on specific dates. Many artists are invited as the main performers for the fests. If you're not fond of the artists invited to your college, you can attend some other college's fest. The college library offers many encyclopedias, books from famous writers, and thesis books that can support your study material. The Campus of DU is filled with greenery and is a perfect example of "Clean and Green". Dustbins are installed every few meters to litter the waste. The sports campus is huge enough and has a gym building. Unfortunately, none of the gym equipment works, plus, the mentor there is very unkind.

Campus Life

Our college has an annual fest called laharein which is a 3 day fest and involves a lot of activities like fashion shows , dance competitions and singing competitions. There is also a DJ night . Students from different colleges the university can participate in all these fests. The facilities provided within the classrooms aren't. Fans are installed in every classroom and there is enough ventilation due to the windows but there are no ACs provided so it can get quite hot in the summers. The sports offered by our college is volleyball. Extra curricular activities mainly include clubs of different subjects that you can choose from. There are also a lot of societies of different departments and enactis . These can enrich a student's personality and help in personal and mental growth. You get to learn a lot about different things and get a lot of exposure due to the new perspectives provided.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fee is affordable but there is a certain increase every year which should be taken into account . The rate of such hikes is not very high since its only increased once a year . The cost of education for studying in this university is not very high . The only financial problems you could face is the living expenditure since the uni does not provide a lot of hostels. There's a lot of scholarships available for students who cannot afford the fees of the college . There are also financial aids given to students of lower income class. There are also certain scholarships available for top students of each batch in all courses. The campus does not have many employment opportunities. Although you can take roles available in NSS but they're basically volunteering so you would not be earning any stipends but these jobs teach you a lot about responsibilities and management.

Campus Life

The life at University's North Campus has always been vibrant and extraordinary. Ramjas too has been an epicenter of opportunities and exposure. The student life is joyous and empowering. There is always some or the other thing happening in the campus which gives a break from the monotony of academics. The department societies conduct workshops and seminars which involved eminent and renowned speakers and guests. Besides department societies, the college societies also organises flagship events, competitions and fests. The Ramjas Annual Fest "MOSAIC" is held once a year during the DU fest season. Mosaic is a two/three day event which comprises of competitions, games, events, DJ night, and a star night. The star night is the much awaited leg of the Mosaic which has a famous singer/artist as the guest. Besides extra curricular activities, ramjas has a dedicated sports complex and a gym. Students are also assigned accounts on the RC portal where they get all the updates.

Fees and Financial Aid

University of Delhi is a central university which means the education here is affordable. My course being a non-technical course was cheaper and costed me around 14,000 INR per years. Besides this, an additional examination fees were charged by the university before the commencement of semester exam which is twice a year. The course fees however vary from course to course. There are many scholarships, government grants and financial aid available. University has various schemes for the underprivileged and backward class students. Students can check the availability and eligibility of all the scholarship on the university website. The foremost type of campus employment available was the annual Vice-Chancellor Summer Internship Program. The 2 month long summer internship program provides exposure, learning and a decent stipend of 15,000/month to the selected students. Besides that, there are many internship opportunities available which can be monetized.
