Since most colleges enroll students on the basis of merit, candidates are advised to procure high percentages in the PCB subjects in their higher secondary schooling.

Admission to institutions taking entrance exams into account comprises of two main steps:

Exam Score:

  • Scoring a percentile more than the required cut-off can help in being shortlisted right away. Students must take note of the cut-off mark decided by each college and work hard enough to achieve that score in the entrance exams.
  • Practice for an entrance exam must not stop just because one has tackled some mock question papers. There is still room for improvement and candidates must keep practicing consistently.

Personal Interview (PI):

  • Students must upgrade their communication skills, critical thinking and current awareness, as these are some of the criteria being tested during this round.
  • Participation and certification in various extra-curricular activities such as clubs, sports, and NGO volunteering can be an addendum to the list of merits.
  • Be updated about the dates of registration and examination, and apply before the deadline.
  • Prepare well and in advance for the entrance exams.
  • Always be aware about current affairs.
  • Make sure to practice the necessary skills for the interview/group discussion held during selection.

Fees and Financial Aid

The general tution fees per year used to be around a sum of 25000 INR in total. And for some reserved categories the fees was around 15 to 20 thousand INR per year. Scholarship opportunities are provided as well on merit and exam score basis. Hostel facilities were also provided on a merit basis every year and some seats were reserved as well the the other categories except general. There used to be an additional fee to be paid each semester for practical and theory end sem exams It used to range in between around 1.5 - 2 k per semester. And cost of the books isn't covered in the tution fees. Students need to get their own ones.

Faculty

The faculty at college their strength estimates around 200-300 staff members in total including the professors, lab assistants and other faculty members. And the students estimated around 10000 in total So the ratio would be like 1:20 approx The faculties i had known were the Science faculty and commerce faculty All the teachers were really good in their communication and friendly with students as well. Even they were very helpful and supportive towards students. Every semester their used to be an exam of 6-7 subjects out of which 3 used to be core subjects and the rest ones electives

Fees and Financial Aid

Hi friends my course is bsc prog. Life science. I am pursuing this degree from sri Aurobindo college which i think is a decent college as the faculty of this course are wonderful. This course has many advantages for your future career options. In my college it's annual fees is 13000 but it may vary according to the college max. It can go till 20000. If you want to pursue this course you have to score good in cuet. If you are from gen category than you should score 520-350 marks and if you are from unreserved category than there are chances for you to get addmission in 200 marks. In this course there is no such chances for jobs or placements that easily rather you should go to higher studies like msc through iit jam or msc through cuet pg. This course consists of three main subjects: Botany; Zoology; chemistry. You can do msc in any of these subjects and can also do msc biotechnology. This course feels very hectic as you have a vast syllabus of each subjects and then assignments and practical files. Buta it's good for those who are willing to have as much as option for thier future career.

Faculty

The relationship between faculty and students is good. They are very approachable. If you are an obidient student than you will always be on a safer side. Faculty members give goods marks in internals and also help you a lot during your semesters. Shikha ma'am, om prakash sir and anil sir teachers of chemistry, zoology and botany respectively are the teachers which i think are good as they are always ready to help you they gives you opportunity in many things and moreover they are friendly you can share your problems with them regarding college course they will help you out. There is no such faculty members i hate as they all are good to me. There are 2 exams per semester each in every year. The level of exams are easy to moderate. But there are few students who fail the exam beacuse of irregularities in classes or not knowing anything regarding the subject otherwise there is no such chances of failing in exam in main subjects if you know about the subject and topics which are in the syllabus.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am first year student and fee structure for year is 17000? which look very much affordable and scholarship concept is not actually in my mind becuse i didn't persue for that and examination fee would also be charge during the examination time period approx 2000? depending upon you subject selection

1.Faculty to student ratio is 1:20.Faculty to student realtionship is good most of them are helpful in nature and quite approacheable. 2.Most of the assistant professor are nice and very helpful. All professsors are very nice. 3.Reena mam(Botany) is a bit rude, she very difficult to talk to. 4.There are generally 4-5 exams based on the number of courses in a particular semester and they are easy to moderate .Almost all students are able to qualify the exams. The course curriculum was decently relevant.

Course Curriculum Overview

*It's a general course so every subject is taught in detail. *The course is not very practical and doesn't offers much with respect to real world applications. Those who want to do phd, research or want to become a professor in Biology can take this course. *The Focus should be more on practical releated to real world applications . *Exams are held every 4-6 months and they are easy to moderate.

MONIKA from botany department are some of the very well experiened faculties and inspire all of their students from their remarkable achievements and also their efforts that they make for their students deserves appreciation. they always try to understand each and every student and almost interact with all the kids present over there. But also to mention there are some teachers who are not able to understand where their students are facing issues , which ultimately cause a loss to students but yes this is a rare case like 1 out of 20 teachers . Regarding examinations , DELHI UNIVERSITY hold end sem exms at the end of the semester ( both practicals and theory papers). for my subject life sciences there is a 80 marks practical and 60 marks theory paper in each of the core subjects( zoology, botany, chemistry) . besides these , there are VAC(2credits), GE/DSE(4 credits) , SEC AND AEC(2credits each) papers . The exams are moderate to difficult but continuous practice can sort out everything , making it easy.

Course Curriculum Overview

the course curriculum includes theory classes and practical classes. I really like my course as it provides a wide range of opportunities in all of the three fields that is zoology, botany and chemistry. The particular departments organises their seminars regarding better future prospects , also faculties suggest us the best books , provide us with different assignments to help us grasp more and more related to our course . but one thing regarding the lab works is the imstruments are less in quantity which makes it a chaos among students for using them which sometimes results in students missing out their chances the exams under this course are moderate to diificult with the practicals being more important. Almost every student here perform good in their theory papers , it is just their practical performances that make the difference.

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio is appropriate. The interaction is pretty great, teachers are approachable and helpful. Personally, Pooja ma'am and sujata sengupta ma'am are my personal favourite! They are very sweet and teach with full pasion. One exam per semester is held. They are quite easy if you study well in the last 10 or 15 days depending on your capability. 2-3% manage to fail such easy exams otherwise you are good to go!

Course Curriculum Overview

Lifesciences enables you to study chemistry as well as biology which gives you a wider scope if you want to get into some practical courses in the future and not just confined to research. As compared to zoology and botany hons it is more real world applicable and the curriculum is well designed to cater those needs Timings of exam are just perfect to complete the paper on time.

As my college has NEP applied the course structure has changed, now we have 2 subject combination and we cannot drop any subject we have major and minor system. As for my department in second year we are 28 students and 7 teachers and all of them are so good and teaches the best my favourite being Simone Mam as her teaching style is very unique and fun. The faculty i don't like is bhupendra sir as he is not punctual and that is one key that a teacher should have. Yearly we have 2 exams and in that we have semester end, unit test and practical exam. Due to NEP I do not find the course difficult.

My course duration is 4year and have 8 semesters and exams are held two time in a semester. Most of the faculty is very friendly to the students and mainly focused on clearing doubts not completing only syllabus. The best faculties I liked are Deeksha Mam , Alka Mam , Mousam Mam these 3 mams are very great. Their teaching techniques and way of teaching and their behaviour is great. Examsare moderate for all students. Average students can clear the exam ad score good.

Campus Life

Course Curriculum Overview

As this course has three of the major disciplines of science including chemistry, botany and zoology so it serves as a good base for research. And also it provides a vast pool of knowledge those who are confused about what to do in future should opt this course. This course if applied in a good way with all the practicals actually done serves a very good role in real world where your skills can make you earn in the real world you can have your own business ideas. Teaching methods must include more test and knowledge more than the syllabus and also the curriculum includes compulsory practical works and on field trainings as well. The frequency of exams are not that high and the difficulty of the paper is also moderate as it can be cleared with less preparation as well, the examination difficulty must be increased so that students must try to grasp more things.

Faculty

Faculty is enough in our college, faculty members are very friendly and respectful because of their good behaviour and supportive nature. It is very easy to approach them. There are many faculty members which I like as they are very supportive and also are friendly to me they always helps us in things apart from academics. For exams there are internal exams, practicals as well as the main university paper apart from that we also have mid semester test and class tests to evaluate our progress and also these papers are of moderate difficulty, where you can crack the tests with 10-15 days of studying. Almost 7-8 students fail to clear the exam. The curriculum of the course is good for the one's who want to be in research and want to do core science, as it serves as a base for future studies.

.Overall experience is good but it can be better. .Focusing on social aspects college provide both internal election and external, which helps in development in social aspects in college. College provide many club and society to students which creates healthy competition and skill development in college. .College provide sports and extracurricular activities to atheletes but provide all sorts of sport fields . Students run social groups, club and society which held students to gather information in many aspects.

Faculty

As it is university there is more diversity in faculty and students. Teaching faculty have diversity in teaching because of the language spoken in their hometown aur locality, Which cause hindrance in learning. Course offer three core subjects and four optional subjects that students can choose during their semester, students can change these subjects also .
