The FY bsc fee I paid was around 3000 to 4000 for sc category. The fees for general Category is slightly more than for minorities. This college provides you with a huge campus and a big library. The teachers are professional in their respective fields. They are friendly and will guide you through all circumstances. The staff is caretaking. This college also provides variety of sports. Players from this college have been to national levels. The canteens are newly made and provide best food with taste and quality. The infrastructure is old and heritage it gives vintage vibes.

Campus Life

There are students who run the social groups and boost other students moral to also get involved in such activities. There is a wide range and accessibility of books and journals available in the library. You can access the librarian in working hours and they will provide you with all necessities.

Course Curriculum Overview

I wanted to took zoology because of man's nature and i want to know more about it. Ut include the physiology of mammals, reptiles, birds& amphibians too. The curriculum prepares me well for the real world as it is all about humans nature and our environment issue. I understand that it will lead me to great future of pursuing further degree and make my own name from it. My department need no improvements as it is all improved and requires none accept for the environmental situation but others are well equipped and well access by us. The teaching methods vary as some teacher teaches us using digital board while some in normal whote or black boards and they make sure we understand what they're teaching and provides us running notes or other pdf notes. The frequency and timing of exam is okay based on the difficulty level. They have great teacher with good knowledge and providing the required time or need for the students

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio to my best knowledge is 3:7. The faculty to student relationship vary upon the faculty members and some of most of them are very approachable. I had this one mam near our principles room having such a disrespected manner she talks nonsense mentioning mother and father to their students and act like a good person. I don't like her she is old but her behaviour is disgraceful. There are 1 exam for each semester or 2 exams i a year. They have twisted questions and some have regular but difficult questions. The authorities are very strict about yhe exams and in our dept. madimum students passes.

Placement Experience

My college placements are really good but in b pharma, bsc or btech biotechnology, btech and bachelor's in commerce courses have well placements as compared to zoology one. And the average package lies from 5-6lacs per year. And the percentage of getting placements is about 5-10% only. And if you talk about my plan I must say I want to pursue my career as a professor so ya I want to go for higher studies and want to serve best' in future as a great faculty member.

Course Curriculum Overview

I am doing bachelor's in zoology. I am final year student and I take admission here because I want to be professional in my area as highly as possible and second thing is it's on you either you want to do job or want to pursue your career in teaching. So for me it's about teaching so basically it's good decision to take admission here. But If you desire to get high placements choose better course and college as compared to this.

In my course the subjects are zoology, botany, chemistry, hindi , and english so the botany faculty is one of the best faculty in the university they didn't shout on students without any reason and they explain everything in detail and solve every student doubt , zoology faculty has nothing but only strictness they only try to threat student so student didn't raise their voice and ask questions, only one assistant professor is good in zoology department, chemistry department is same as zoology department now exam they didn't even provide answer sheet to give exam in quarterly and half yearly exam student have to bring their own and in final exam there is no facility of cooling and water also the exam system is also bad they didn't focus on exam they only came to talk to each other and marking system work with their mood

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

First they take first installment of fee as first admission fee 1300inr then after half year they take another fee as second admission fee 1500inr then one month before final exam they take examination fee 1200inr , as a general category student i didn't get any scholarship or free books or stationery material from university but SC/ST student got scholarship and books and stationery.

Ques. How is the overall percentage calculated in IGNOU BSc in zoology?

● Top Answer By Sophia Singh on 02 Nov 22

Ans. IGNOU BSc has 2 types of subjects - Theory and Practical. It’s further divided into - Assignments and Term end theory exams. In order to calculate total marks in a paper out of 100 - Assignment marks* 0.3 + Theory marks*0.7. The calculated sum will be your overall marks out of 100. To know the actual marks that will be on your marks sheet follow this rule: For theory- If it is a 4 credits course divide the marks by 2. If it is a six-credit course, divide it by 4/3. If it is a 2 credit course divide it by 4 This is because 8,6,4,2 credit courses have total marks out of 100, 75, 50 & 25 respectively. For practical- It has two parts - Lab 1 and Lab 2 Total marks out of 100 = Lab 1 mark*0.7 + Lab 2 marks*0.3. To calculate total marks follow the same rule mentioned above. Total credits in BSc-96 Therefore total marks will be 96/8=12 hundred.=1200 Net percentage will be = Total marks out of 1200 /Twelve hundred multiplied by 100 .Read more

Ques. What are the minimum qualifying marks for zoology hons. in WBSU?

● Top Answer By Rishabh Ghosh, on 20 Oct 21

Ans. Different colleges set different marks for form submission. If you are willing to take admission for an honors program at WBSU, make sure you have the minimum marks required, i.e., 45 out of 100. If you want to pursue Zoology Honours, you have to have 45 in Biology in your class 12th examination. But if your Biology marks are less than 45, then you will have to take special permission from the Vice-Chancellor or Registrar of WBSU. To keep your Honours, you need to score at least 42% in each year’s honors paper. Failing to maintain this might result in losing the honors degree.Read more

Ques. Which is the best university to study UG course in chemistry zoology CU, BU, KU or WBSU?

● Top Answer By Saloni Ray, on 20 Oct 21

Ans. One of my friends studied at Calcutta University, so I might be able to give you some details about it. Calcutta University (CU) is one of the oldest functioning institutions in West Bengal. It is popular among students. In Calcutta, most of the colleges are affiliated with CU. The one thing that every CU student is familiar with is their strict grading system. Scoring even a 60% is very difficult. Some students even think this is a good enough score if you are a student of CU. Nowadays top reputed MNCs also demand at least 60% to be able to sit for placements. Finally, you should keep in mind that other mentioned universities may not be as old and experienced as CU, but they will show a bit of leniency while giving marks. So ultimately the decision is yours, whether you want to study in a reputed university with a strong and reliable alumni network or opt for the easier way out by getting admission to newer institutions.Read more
