- Classroom are big enough and airy with smart classes
- The campus of college is good with a beautiful view

- Only these are somethings I don't like but other than this everything is fine
- Library is small although all the books are available but seating capacity is low

This is the most know and one of the excellent colleges of my town .
Also know as Centre of Excellence with a A+ grade .
Admission are on the basis of your 12th marks
There are limited seats so only meritorious students can get admission

- The library has very useful books and has a great environment.
- Recently our class got new furniture and a smart board.
Admission:
As you might have read in other reviews, our college is most renowned and has a very good reputation. On top of everything ragging is banned and there is no hustle for elections as in other colleges. It provides genuine courses as compared to others in which BCOM , BCA AND BSc. are appreciated in the whole state. The geographical location is also very good as compared to other colleges. The faculty is really humble and I can acces this college as it's not much far from my home.

In my locality we have heard from the start that this is the best college in every term . My 2 elder siblings have also passed out from here and hearing from them I believed that this one would be right. Also we have to apply online for admission in this college and admission is based upon 12th class cut off which is generally high. This year the cutoff was 88% for BCOM

Admission:
I had applied for Nizam college in Hyderabad but I didn't get selected.
In Telangana there is a government website called DOST ( degree online services telangana) which you can apply your choice for college and there will be picked by some of the analyst of the college and they will have to pay the fee. I didn't shortlisted because I have scored 70% in my 12th. Most of the students who score more than 90% gets selected.

This college is the only centre of excellence in the northern region of India which gives it a good place academically. Furthermore, it is nearer to me as I'm from shimla only. But I did opt for Panjab University and even got selected but did not join it due to some personal reasons.

First of all this college is really good in this locality in the city where I am living it is the best college not in my perspective but the other people also said this too all my relatives friends families also appreciated this college its infrastructure and its studies they have also said there are many good teachers there also they could guide you to achieve your goal as fast as possible so I don't want to go in any other college also it is really good here

I only applied for this college because this is the best college in shimla and the best faculty for all the subject and guidance is proper by teacher for all students no I didn't get rejection from any colleges

It depends on eligibility of the course, your 10-12th percentages and then entrance exam held. After clearing the exam you are eligible for the course. Reservation benefits are provided for the students.

I got admission to BSC Information Practices with Math and Physics
I found from college physically and per year there were Rs 5000/- fee and in months of April -May
Be more focused on practical knowledge

Admissions were open for the 2025-26 session. The online application portal was active from June 1 to June 19, 2025, and no further applications are being accepted beyond that deadline
Government Degree College, Shimla, does not require an entrance exam for most of its undergraduate courses. Admissions are based on the merit of marks secured in the qualifying examination (such as Class 12th) and follow the guidelines set by Himachal Pradesh University, to which it is affiliated.
Centre of excellence Shimla does not offer bachelor of education course.
Total 3 year fees for bsc?
The total fee of B.Sc. Course in Government Degree College, Shimla is INR 7,434. The first year fee is INR 2,628. The second and third year fees are the same INR 2,403.
