I like the teachers of my department as they were very helpful
It has a proper library along with a proper auditorium

The infrastructure needed some mending, classrooms need to be well litted.

Student view on course curriculum

As the course ENGLISH Literature-was under Guwahati University it does need some adjustments in including topics which was relevant in todays generation. As most students go for their masters they need topics which was included in master courses so they can be more prepared if they want to persue NET and JRF

Semester wise fees structure

7000+ first sem including admission but excluding examination fees which you have to pay to Guwahati University and from 2nd sem 4000 excluding examination fees. The fees structure might have changed a bit

What does student says about campus

Need some mending in the infrastructure but as I passed out like 5 years ago so maybe the construction has been completed. Technology wise it does need improvement and more well litted classes should be there

Student views on the faculty

The teachers were very approachable and helpful. They were friendly at the same time strict with their approach on education. I am specifically fond of our English Department HOD whose class we enjoyed the best as he discussed things in a more interactive manner rather than in a lecture manner

Admission

This college wasn't my first choice but due to financial issues I had to opt for this college. But through many sources i got to know that ENGLISH Department along with physchology has a good reputation among other departments

Night Life

The college doesn't provide Hostel facilities so we didn't enjoy any hostel Life in the college. But during the holidays the college field is being used to conducts programs or functions which we used to visit as students

Being a established college it gives it's student a trade mark on their resume ,which is really helpful within Northeast India.
Our college regularly hosts various entrepreneurship boosting events such as shark pups .These helps in cultivating future entrepreneurs

Dislikes

The building of the campus needs more renovation and integrate modern electronic methods of teaching in every classrooms
The toilets are not clean in the ground floor of every buildings ,and a proper water filter facility is also missing .
There is for sure a lack of good ,professional outdoor and indoor sports facility

Admission:

The selction for students was based on the percentage of class 12th and due to scoring above 90 percentage I was fortunate to get into the colleges I applied for .I applied for only two college as I was sure to get admission in anyone ,the other college I appled to was KC Das,and I was almost certian to take into KC Das until the last moment ,when after discussuing with my family and analysing the type of cohort and facilities of the two college I deceided to not take admission in KC das but in Guwahti Commerce College . Admoission in my college is basd on merit and for general the cutof is 90 percentage

I don't like the library not collection of book varieties

I applied to two colleges one is kc das commerce college and the other is Guwahati Commerce college which I am studying. I chose this college over that because the campus are was too small and there was no auditorium and playground and the area where The college is located is too conjusted. The admission process of my college is simple. Cutoff marks is set and if your name is on the merit you will get the admission

My college - the untold truth

Likes

It has a canteen facility and a small botany garden
It has two libraries and students can take books
It is in a nearby area and transportation is very easy

Dislikes

The discipline is very poor in my clg , students don't wear proper uniform
Consumption of guthka is very much there
The atmosphere and quality of students is is poor

The college is nearby my house, it takes me online 5 minutes by scooty , also the rules are not too much strict here and attendance is not very strict that's why I chose this college so that I can give time to my entrance exams

this college is best for the avarage students, the average cut off for admission is 70 to 75 percent unlike the college like COTTON and BBorooah college, their cut off like 85 to 90 percent. so for the average student this college is blessing for them.

I don't get any seat in other colleges and my parents also told that , Guwahati College is near so go there , that's why Gcc is best in all formats That's it. And the admission process is ok but the fees structure is not

Guwahati College at present offers Higher Secondary and undergraduate Courses (BA, B.Sc, and B.Com) in three streams: Arts, Science and Commerce. The college also offers certificate programs in Ornamental Fishery and Aquarium Management.

Candidates who have passed 10+2 or equivalent are eligible to apply for UG level programs.
The admission to Degree courses is based on the marks obtained in 10+2.
The admission to the Higher Secondary courses is based on the marks obtained in 10th standard.
Any students from undergraduate or graduate course of NER Universities are eligible for Certificate course in Ornamental Fishery and Aquarium Management.
Admission to Guwahati College can be applied through online process by visiting admission.guwahaticollege.org.in
