Faculty

• The ratio of faculty-to-student is 8:60. The relationship between faculty and student is good, both are equally interactive and the students have huge respect for the teachers. The teachers are very calm with students. They interact alot with students and try to solve all the possible queries. • All the facultiws are very good and I like everyone, they all mean a lot to me. I respect them a lot and all of them are best • There is no one whom I hate, because all are good and sometimes if teachers are rude and scolds you, you should not feel that he/she is bad or something, they are just doing their work • There are in total 4 exams in a year, 2 Semester in a year, each semester 2 exams, 1st is sessional that is easy to moderate, 2nd is moderate to hard. There are only few student who fail to clear the exams, that too because they are irregular in college and write zero things in exam. The course curriculum is very relevent and important for the students, teachers and principal. This exams needs to go systematically and accordingly so to maintain the educatin of students.

Fees and Financial Aid

• The year-wise fees that I pay in Arya Vidyapeeth College ( Autonomous) , Guwahati as a student of FYUGP B.Sc 4th Semester is 8220. The admission fees that I pay once a year is 4960 and examination fees that I pay twice a year (2 semesters in a year) is 1630. • We dont have any tuition fees and caution fees, registration fees is 430, admission fees is in total 4960, development fees is 50, lab fees is 900 and many more charges regarding the college • All of my batchmates from different categories pay the same amount of fees that I pay, only the students belonging from BPL and Fee Waiver background gets the admission for free, but they also need to pay examination like the rest of the student. • There are many types of scholarships offered to the students like NSP, Eshan Uday, Only Girl Child Scholarship, Category wise scholarships that has helped the students a lot to use the amount during there education and help the family. A decent amount is given to the students, keeping in mind that only those students get the scholarship who is worthy based on their merit.

Though I was there for only a short period of time , It was a great experience. I applied fee waiver and thus my admission was almost free . I only had to give around ?100-200 for a few practical related staff otherwise all other was free

Faculty

As already mentioned I was not there for a very long period of time , however as much I stayed abd studied there , the classes were very regular. The teachers were also present on time in the class.. I don't know about the exams as I was not there during the exam time

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose this course i.e. department of Botany because the department ensuring a strong theoretical foundations along with the practical experience. The course prepares well for students as the acedemic results is always good which will make gratutides well equipped for jobs. Some sections of the course should be updated to meet the latest technology, more guests lectures and the interships should be provided to the students. The exams clustering of multiple exams should be within times which relases unneccsary stress, the exams are conducted easy to insane which is very challenging for the students.

Faculty

I would rate 0 out of 10 for faculties. They're not really into teaching. They'll come they'd say something and they'll leave. 0 commitment for the job. The B.Sc. Botany program at MGU is a 3-year, 6-semester course under the CBCSS system, covering plant diversity, genetics, ecology, and biotechnology. It includes core subjects like plant anatomy and physiology, complementary subjects like Zoology and Chemistry, an open course in Semester 5, and an elective in Semester 6. Exams are a mix of internal assessments (assignments, seminars, practicals) and end-semester exams, with grading based on CGPA instead of percentages. Faculty student ratio is like 1:4 or something. I'd a the best faculty currently is the maya miss, she's the better one among the current ones still not best. I should call out the names i don't like If i had to do that i should call out every names . Exams are comparatively easy and i guess 89% of the students are passed as per my knowledge

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum is pretty relevant. I didn't influenced by the curriculum to chose this course. Curriculum consists of so many practicals and lab n stuff which i really love. It's the one best thing for the course. Area of improvement is add more practicals. Curriculum prepares for real world applications, idk you don't get the chance to apply botany in your real life very much.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college fees structure is to pay ?8100 at the time of joining the college. The fees is reduced to an average of 3000-4000 the coming years. As a botany student I need to pay tution fees along with practical fees which is around 700 - 900 per year. The total fees for the complete course is around 15000. Certain students are also eligible for schoolarships. The schoolarships include e- grand which is one of the most opted schoolarships by students in the college. This schoolarship are provided for students who are financially unstable and whose family income is lower than 1 lakh. The students who are eligible for e- grand could have their degree without making the necessary payments. The students who belong to SC/ST category are only needed to pay 45% of the fees. My college is also endowed with many private courses other than the government aided ones. The courses include BTTM, MTTM, MHRM, BCA, MCA, BCOM TAX, BCOM OFFICE MANAGEMENT, BCOM COMPUTER SCIENCE, BVOC, BA ENGLISH ETC. All these courses are private and would need an average fees of 15000-25000 per semester. The college is accredited with 4.73 by the NAAC. Ques. What is the admission process for B.Sc. Hons. Botany in Ravenshaw university and what is the cutoff?

● Top Answer By Rati Singh, on 16 Nov 21

Ans. Admission to Ravenshaw University (RU) is done purely on a merit basis. Your scores in class 10+2 examinations will determine your selection. First, fill-up the form and wait for the merit list. If you are selected in the first round, you will be needed to submit the documents with a demand draft of the amount mentioned.  If you are in the waiting list then also you will have to come to the college to submit the demand draft, showing your interest in taking admission. If you do not get selected, your draft will be returned. The cut-off marks usually change, so nothing could be said for sure. To get some idea about it you can check the previous year's cut off marks in the admission brochure.Read more

Ques. Which DU college should I opt SVC or KMC for B.Sc. Hons. Botany?

● Top Answer By Ahana Ghosh, on 21 Oct 21

Ans. Both colleges have their fair share of similarities and dissimilarities. Let me provide some facts about both of them, analyzing which you can move ahead with your decision. Both the colleges are excellent in their own way. The infrastructure of Science blocks is very good in both the colleges. Both colleges have diverse cultural societies. Players -The Dramatics Society of KMC, is one of the best in DU All colleges of DU have similar faculty. Some of them are exceptionally good, while others are average. KMC, being almost in the centre of North Campus, has its own perks. It is said to have better placements than South Campus colleges. The laboratories in the Botany and Zoology Departments of KMC are newly built.. The student crowd of KMC, however, is not as good as that of SVC.  The administration of KMC is pathetic.  The hostels of KMC aren't as good as those of SVC. However, they are Renovating to make it more attractive. Therefore, you can analyze these factors and compare the colleges, see what best suits your requirements, and finally go for it.Read more

Ques. Which is a better college for a B.Sc. in botany Ramjas or SVC?

● Top Answer By Milind Sen, on 21 Oct 21

Ans. One of my friends studied at Ramjas College, so my answer might be a bit inclined towards it. But SVC is also a good institution, so the choice basically depends on that particular individual. Ramjas is located in the North campus while SVC is in the South campus. Ramjas is known to have the best faculty for Botany at Delhi University. They have a dedicated greenhouse for botany students in Ramjas. Both SVC and Ramjas have really good lab facilities.  ECA participation is almost the same in both colleges.  Ramjas has its own Model United Nations society, which SVC does not.  Also, Enactus Ramjas, which has been second in the nationals for 2 consecutive years, is far better than its SVC counterpart. Categories B.Sc. in Botany at Ramjas College B.Sc. in Botany at SVC Course Fee INR 80,895 INR 37,098 Highest CTC 12 LPA - Average CTC 6-7 LPA 4.4 LPA So, it all comes down to the fact where you want to live, grow and explore. Choose the one that suits your requirements the best.Read more
