Course Curriculum Overview

The course I selected was Bsc. Botany. The syllabus cover wide branches of Botany. I suggest to improve and increase lab activities. The exam timing of Calicut University was a bit difficult for us. But after the invention of barcode system the timing have become good. In our times we had to face sem exam with nearly 2 month classes. It was really tough.

Fees and Financial Aid

I belong to obc category. So during the time of admission, a fees around 6000 had been payed. I had an e-grantz scholarship. Yearly fees I payed was around 3000. For my class mates who have no e-grantz had to pay around 3500. As part of e-grants there was no any further fees like exam fee.

In our class there was 27 students. We have 3 permanent professor and 1 guest lecturer. All the faculties nicely approaches students. We can clear any academic doubts from them. Among them Dr. Shinoj K was my personal favourite sir. Apart from him, Dr. Saratchandran who is the head of the department, Dr. Surekha and also our guest lecturer Dr. Femi were also good teachers. There was no any teachers that I disliked in our department. In our time we have 2 semester per year alltotal 6 semesters. Altogether there were 6 semester exams. Before each semester exam there will be internal exams conducted for assigning internal marks. In our class almost all students were to able to pass the exams. 2 or 3 were failed to clear some papers.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is almost best. Curriculum doesn't influenced me in deciding this course. Curriculum should add internships. Currently there is no mandatory internship, if students are interested they can do internship during vacations. As we are learning psychology which need to be practiced in real world settings, curriculum must include real world training to help students understand things more effectively. Currently intervel between exams are non existent. Internal exams, then semester exams, you blink once, next internal exams, followed by semester exams. Syllabus is understandable, can learn if you try. Exams are also manageable. Real world examples and stories can be included in teaching methods, as psychology is related to humans and human interaction, to get better grasp of concepts. Rather than focusing on passing exam, should focus on the concepts and understand them in-depth. There are a lot of theories to study by heart. And there are many repetitive topics that overlap, but in different semesters.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is Bsc Biotechnology. It is a research associated course. Its main scope is in research. But in every industry let it be medical or industrial a biotechnologist is required. I would like more practical knowledge than theory knowledge in this course as it is needed to be implemented in labs hands on experience is essential. Exams are conducted every 6 months as semester. Class tests and model exams are conducted frequently. Assignments, projects, seminar ,etc.. are given every month.
