Campus Life

I would say my campus life was "exciting but boring". Exciting in terms of studies and practicals, boring in terms or extra-curricular activities. The college is so big that sometimes you don't get the memo of the exhibition happening in the seminar hall, if you get the point. There were no major functions other than study seminar and professor lectures and it made my college life boring. But the exciting part was that the classes made you engaged to your studies.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is everything you can ask for. In the last year of the graduation, you are assigned to a village and you get to apply all the theory knowledge into a real field. You also get to learn from a farmer, and believe me, it is the best experience in your college life. In third year, you get to grow crops by yourself in a field. This makes you understand the practicality of the subject better.

Campus Life

My college have different faculties and each of them have different social aspects and club involvement. There are not much events were organised in my college but annual sports day and sports competition were organised in the month of October. Each faculty have their own library and there is one central library situated in Education Department library have preety much of every book that a student needs with regards their subjects and social life. An indoor sports room were present in Law Department where you can play variety of games such as pool , air hockey, table tennis, Play station and many more. And outdoor gym and sports ground were also located inside the campus. Their was not such students group or clubs present which affect social life of students.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is much lower for students almost one faculty member is assigned for atleast 30 students. But students relationship with their facilities are not too bad. I am a science student but I do like law faculty because they have proper class schedule and teachers for their subjects. I don't like science faculty because they don't have a proper laboratory for practical knowledge and lack of teachers. Semester exam are conducted every six months and internal exam were taken three times before a semester exam. Exam difficulty level was moderate and normally 2 to 4 % people got back in their perticular subjects . The curriculum of my course was made to focus on real life practices but due to lack of teachers it was not so relevant.

They also stood themselves for the students to help them achive goals in all aspects like financially, mentallu, physically. They provide free JRF classes for the students who are preparing for JRF. They also guide us to the right path. I do not like few lecturers who were narrow minded and who were practising bad habits. There were around 10 to 13 subjects in each sem. The subjects were easy to understand but difficult to remember as the subject were more and syllabus was vast. The students can easily score and mainyain CGPA above 9.0. The course curriculum is vey relevant and would be helpful in th future too for students who are preparing for JRF, UPSC, AO, ADO, ARS etc. There were very few students who would fail in the exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

The courses are very affordable. There will be a sem wise fee approximately Rs.17,000-20,000 per sem. This includes tuition fees, admission fees, exam fee, development fees, lab fees, tour fees, all other charges are included in this. There is no need to pay any extra fee anymore. For NRI students the fees would be Rs.3,00,000 along the sem fee. The students can avail two kinds of scholarship namely vidyasiri or ssp scholarship which is state sponsored and the other is NSP scholarship is central government sponsored. Both the scholarships will be applied by the college management. There are many other merit based scholarship which can be a great benefit for the students. The students can also make use of Netaji Subhas-ICAR International Fellowship, National Talent scholarship and India Agri Fellowship. Besides this, in Karnataka, the Raita Vidya Nidhi Scholarship Scheme also provides financial assistance to children of farmers pursuing higher education, with scholarship amounts ranging from Rs. 2500 to Rs. 11000.

Faculty

The boys to girls ratio here is same..but the faculty to student ratio is 50:250.. Faculties are very good and is really approachable..they gives all needed notes before exams they help is making us understand things easily Apart from teaching their own subject they also share their life experience which shows us that they not only want us to be a good student but also a good human . The faculty I like the most is my fundamentals of soil science professor of 1st semester his words really inspired and motivated me very much..he shared many of his life experience. There is a extension miss I don't like because of 2 reason one is she never explains us anything she simply reads and tells us that all topic is simple and we can study for ourself but actually this is not the thing..also she tored pages of record which also made me feel bad about her. There are total 4 exams in a semester the first exam will be the AQ;that is containing only objective questions it is out of 10 Next exam is midterm which contains both objective and subjective which is out of 20 The next exam is practical examination..not all subjects have practical exams..these includes some calculations identification reasoning questions etc this exam is out of 15 Next is the main university exam which is the external exam it is out of 40 marks and 2 hours are given this also contain both objective like full ups MCQ,true or false and match the following and subjective like 1 sentance answers..short answers and long answers. These exams are so easy for a talented student because it can be studied just before one day or exam..only around 10 students that too boys usually fail.. This course curriculum is very relevant because it helps us studying all the fundamentals of my course and skill enhancement.

Campus Life

Actually the entertainment programmes happening here is very less..but here freshers party happens usually in April month..it will be a 4 day party 1st day we will be having fun games and events 2nd day is character day where we get makeup and costume as film and cartoon characters 3rd day we will have ethnic day where we wait ethin wares 4th day is the main day with dance programme rampwalk etc. The library provides many books for reference it also contains previous year question papers The classrooms have good technology like bench desks and smartclassrooms where professors give as slides and PowerPoints This college gives a creat support for sports activities and youth fest activities The physical education is a must satisfactory course where everyday morning 1 hour we will be having sports session..also he prepares us for many district state and national level competition..sports activities trained here are coco, badminton, ball badminton, kabadi, tennis, athletics, basketball, volleyball, football etc.

The bsc ag is not such tough course it gives wide oppertunity to go through.we can easily prepare for any competition with this bsc agriculture degree.such as agriculture block officer ,ssc, upsc bpsc and professor, teachers etc.the curriculum gives step by step direction for getting prepared for the students for achieving their goal.the academic is going according to the course curriculum.the course curriculum provided information about the degree and it's benefits.also it provides the semester wise program and syllabus and their credits .the credit score tells about the importance of the subjects.for exams the difficulties is not as such .there is easy to get the paper and timing is also very much to complete the paper . I think in teaching methods the faculties should be more practical and come with new ideas and techniques to provide better and excitement information

Faculty

College of agriculture, Vijayapur, has great faculty and infrastructure. There are separate departments for every subject and ecah department has an HOD and 4-5 lecturers. All lecturers are very well experienced and teach very well. To take the name of best faculty, I would say Dr. Vastrad sir, HOD of Plant pathology, he's great at teaching and always available for our doubts and approchable. Also Dr. Prakash, faculty of plant entomology, he teaches the best I would not say i hated this professor but i never liked her teaching style - Dr. Vasantha kumari, she is very knowledgeable though and I have a huge respect. The only thing is i never understood. There are 4 semesters and in each semester we have one internal assessment and one external assessment. The question papers difficulty level i would rate 7/10. The course curriculum is very relevant and mostly everyone passes the exams except few.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee has to be paid semester wise and it used to be within 20,000 , sometimes 16,000 and sometimes 18,000. This fee might increase every year by certain percentage not very large. Hostel is free since government bears it. For mess, additional fee has to be paid. It varies according to the ration / food consumed, used to be in the range 2000-3000. Scholarships provided : 1.SSP - 20,000 /yr 2.NSP - 10,000 - 12,000 /yr 3.Merit scholarship based on 12th score for 4 years Mess is free of cost for sc/st. They also get additional facilities of laptop, pendrive etc.
