Course Curriculum Overview

Agriculture is practical oriented course that's why i chose it and it takes me to my roots as my father is also farmer. Practical knowledge of this course prepares me for real world. Course curriculum must be practical along with book knowledge and teaching should be interactive. In 6 month semester we give two times exam and exams are easy.

Our course was a commited course as Agriculture is what even the top economies like the USA are also dependent on it. Ever since green revolution came in India, our agriculture has grown and to make sure we have enough green land and how to make optimum use of it is what our course was all about.

Campus Life

Our college was built in 250 acres of land and it was a farmland. So, our infrastructure was like a practical lesson to all of us. Even though it was a remote college we had dance programs and all. So, it was fun studying even in a village.

Faculty

the faculty to student ratio is okay okay. the factulties are mostly tamil speaking, approaching them is not the hardest part but communicating is. some factuties are straight up rude while others are kind. the exams for mid terms are easy... endsem is preety hard. they have multiple regulations for the exams itself. the girls are not supposed to mingle with guys within the campus at all in general normal days. along with that during exams, girls have the pin their shawls up in the tops. they will check for everything. they are not allowed to use the washrooms during the exams even though the exams ae in the mornig and typically is very cold out there.

Fees and Financial Aid

For the first year of college the whole fees for hostel and college is 3.03 lakhs. from the 2nd year onwards, the fees has been increased to 2.93 lakhs just for the college fees. the hostel fees accounts for an additional 1.6 lakhs. the admission fees is 10 thousands only after whivh the the seat could be recieved. there is special reservation for students for sc/st background. my batchmate had a bit more difference in fees since she was from a different community. for management seats, the fees are very very high.

Usually there're all types of subject related books available at library , there are 2 libraries in each department , and one central library for all campus students. In classroom there's a projecter , white board and in few classes there's an window AC . There are many clubs and sports related activities happening at lpu , there are literally every sports ground or equipment the student is been playing . There's always 1-2 event going on since I join lpu like freshers fiesta , sunburn car show etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The semester fees is 120000 for bsc. Hons agriculture at lpu. So there is 2 semester in a year , so the total fees is 240000 for a year but there are many scholarship programs for students. First of all there is an entrance test called LPUNEST , there are 4 category scholarships are being provided through this exam , category A,B,C and D , you can check the scholarship awarded amount of LPU official site , I've got 30% scholarship through LPUNEST .

Course Curriculum Overview

No there are no specific reason cause i choose this course of my own decision because i like about the nature. If i honestly talk about the syllabus or the completion of the syllabus it is seriously tough because lots of syllabus got incomplete and we dont have enough time to get self study self preparation due to busy time table of college and also lots of workload on to students. Umm well i will suggest to increase the semester duration or to short the syllabus and reduce the workload from the students. No the exams are good because exams are conducted internally which it based on our faculty understanding and level of Syllabus.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is 1:10 and there relation is perfect like our parent's. I liked A sir of my department because he keeps us updated and helps in several ways anyhow. No there are no faculties were i able to dislike because all of them are good at there own level or standards. There are 2 class assessment test which are having each of month and a Half early exam which are conduct just before of final semester examination.

the fees i paid was approx 75000 per year and around 36k to 37k per semester which is the tuition fees for the course other than that you will be paying a one time refundable caution fees at the time of the admission in the first semester of the course and the other fees like exam fee, lab fee etc were included the semester fee itself. the students native to uttrakhand get a special discount in their fees which were around 5 to 10 thousand depending upon the course. there are also scholarships in the university which is given on the basis of Q CARE Exam which is university entrance exam and on the basis of scores of 10/12th or any other national level examination.

Faculty

the faculty members of the university were quite good provide good learning experience through labs , practicals, and industry visits as well. the faculty student ratio is around 50: 1 In a semester one mid sem exam and 1 end sem exam is held which includes practicals lab quizes for end sem exam but for mid sem exam theory portion is considered also the weitage of internal assignments and attendance during the course is also considered

In bhu the most interesting thing is faculty to students ratio, for each course there are min 3 to maximum 6 professors assigned for a batch of students 135. Each professor teaches their own portion in which they have excellence and every faculty is highly qualified and having experience of minimum 10 years in teaching to more than 25 years of teaching. Some faculties have done their theses in foreign. When it comes to specific faculty I like dr. Afjal ahmad hod of plant physiology department because of the fact that he fits everything in our mind and explains everything with real examples and methods. I also like dr. Pratik sanodiya sir because of his lecture delivery skills and notes preparing strategy i excelled my first year. There are definitely some faculties who are overall good but at some instances they lack such as dr.vinod kumar sir who is relatively a new faculty and that's why he lacks somewhere in how to take tests properly like he gives very less marks and there is an internal system in our institute so all the power is in the hands of our faculties. Coming to the examination there are mainly three exams in a semester that are mid term, end term and practical term. The mid term consists of 30 marks, end term consists of 40 marks and practical term consists of 30 marks. The passing marks in each course is 50 marks and overall 55% in aggregate is required to pass a semester. Nearly 90% students pass in each semester and 10% fails but still they are given a second chance and most of them clears the back exam. If due to any reason they are not able to clear the back exam then they have to repeat the year. The course curriculum is relevant in terms of skills enhancement and self employment.also it has several courses that are relevant from different examinations point of view like civil services and cat.

Course Curriculum Overview

The scope of this course is very good like whereever I want to settle my self i can such as in management, govt sector, pvt sector, civil services or be it business. There are 2 skill enhancement courses in every semester like pearl farming and integrated farming system that prepares us for our own business development. More over there are courses like entrepreneurship development and business enterprises that helps us develop a thought process that how these things work in real life. I don't think there are any needs to improve the course curriculum and teaching methods they are top notch. The difficulty level of exams is moderate with some courses being tough and they require that much preparation overall the course curriculum is relevant and efforts seeking you can't just pass in one night.

Course Curriculum Overview

Bsc agriculture as a course is a very good option after your 12th beacuse its a honours degree course u will learn everything about horticulture , economics, english, maths, biochem, biotechnology, food techonology means everything related to agriculture is taught here plus we are told to work in fields so that we can learn from ground level plus interacting with farmers and listening to their part is also there which gave us a real world experience. the frequency of exams are high but they are easy

Faculty

I dont know exactly about the faculty to student ratio but it's very good, there are ample of teachers to whom u can ask yours doubts plus every 10 students are given a advisor teacher during thier course who guide students throught the degree program. Per semester 4 exams are conducted one after month hourly exams , then come the mid term, exams, then the practicals, then the final semester examination every semester.. The exam level are easy to moderate.

The faculty of our college mainly consists of guest teachers their relation with the students are pretty good and both of then corporate with each other there are some teachers especially entomology and soil science teacher are specially good towards student helping them with many works. In midts of all that there are fews teachers that involved in favouritism and are rude sometimes towards students. Play examination system consist of one mid term exam and one end term exam each happening after one month of interval like for example if mid term is occurring in one month that is March then End term will happen in May. Overall all the students pass in the exam because of the the level off the question paper easy question are generally set for the student. As many of them are from the rural background helping them to adopt to English course curriclum.
