Dislikes
- It was so remotely located that we had no choice to hangout off campus.
Course Curriculum Overview
Our course was a commited course as Agriculture is what even the top economies like the USA are also dependent on it. Ever since green revolution came in India, our agriculture has grown and to make sure we have enough green land and how to make optimum use of it is what our course was all about.
Fees and Financial Aid
Our college fees was 1.2 lakhs a year and hostel was mandatory as it was in a village. The hostel was 80k a year and fees were allowed to be paid in installments of 4. So it was easy to pay the fees as it wasn't needed to be paid upfront.
Campus Life
Our college was built in 250 acres of land and it was a farmland. So, our infrastructure was like a practical lesson to all of us. Even though it was a remote college we had dance programs and all. So, it was fun studying even in a village.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels was fantastic and there were three girls hostels in the campus. Boys hostels were far off and were not allowed to come close to the girls hostel even during day time. Even the mess was different so it was a secured place to live in.
Admission
Admission was through the university counselling as very limited seats are there and therefore admission becomes tough. Our college is one of the best but sadly it was in a village so not many students show interest and therefore admission becomes easy as 80% or so is the cut-off to get admission here.
Faculty
Agricultural colleges are different from normal colleges and therefore our faculties too were different from the rest. We had a lot of things in our college to pursue and our faculties supported us in all of it.
Night Life
Our college was located in Pollachi which is 50kms from Coimbatore. So, bus-stand was nearby and Coimbatore was our hangout place as in our village we had very few restaurants as it was all but an agricultural village.
