ADAC & RI Facilities

The institute has several facilities for its students and staff members. Some of them are given below: 

  • Library: ADAC & RI has fully air conditioned library with 8402 sq.ft. area. It has a total collection of 12442 text books, 1083 reference books, 750back volumes, 35 thesis/reports, 108 video lessons, and 20 current periodicals etc. Various e-services are also provided.
  • Computer Centre: The centre is used for conducting practical classes for UG students. Students also have access to computer centres for preparing assignments and collecting study materials etc. Computer centre also has an LCD projector and screen which is used to conduct classes and to give presentations.
  • Sports: The institution offers several sports facilities such as Outdoor grounds, football field, cricket field, volleyball court, basketball court, kabaddi court, ball badminton court, table tennis court, carrom etc.
  • Hostels: ADAC & RI has five hostels for the accommodation of students. Of which, two are boys’ hostels and three are girls’ hostels. Hostel facilities includes safe drinking water, CCTV surveillance, biometric attendance, WiFi connectivity, TV room, Guest rooms for parents, incinerator for sanitary water disposal, floor cleaning machine etc., 
  • Health centre: A health care centre is functioning in the campus consisting of three rooms, an outpatient room, Pharmacy & ward with toilets (separate for male / female patients). A pharmacy is also working in association with the health centre.
  • Students club: The institute also has several clubs like Drama society, debating society, hiking society, Agri-Horti society, FORTAG-Souvenir society etc and NCC and NSS unit for students as well.

Ques. Does ADAC & RI has an anti-ragging cell?

Ans. Yes, The college has an anti-ragging cell. The college strictly prohibits ragging and students are asked to submit anti-ragging undertaking during the admission processes. Anti- ragging banners are placed in the campus and hostels and students are given awareness on not involving in such practices.

Ques. What are functions of the grievance cell of ACAD & RI?

Ans. ADAC& RI has a well functioning grievance cell to address the problems of students. The cell consists of a Students Welfare Committee with the Dean, ADAC&RI as Chairman and Dean HC&RI(W) as Co-Chairman. The meeting is held once in six months to discuss and resolve the various issues of the students.

Ques. What are the functions of sexual harassment cell at ACAD & RI?

Ans. ADAC & RI has the committee for prevention of sexual harassment. The committee addresses all grievances pertaining to sexual harassment of women at the ADAC&RI, Tiruchirappalli. The committee consists of a Professor as chairman and four other members.

If we study in this college for agriculture I think I may get a better jobs than ordinary job in this field. Exam pattern is different according to ICAR . Mid exams for 20 marks and practical exams for 40 marks and final theory exam for 40 marks.

The candidates can get selected through National Level Entrance Examination by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). 15% seats are reserved for them. Candidates who satisfy minimum marks requirements and maximum age limit can apply either through NRI or Industry Sponsorship quota. Under Industry Sponsorship Quota, only candidates of Indian Nationality are eligible to apply. In this, any public / private limited industry directly related to agricultural manufacturing / production related activities can sponsor one candidate once in four years by becoming a member of Agri Business Consortium (ABC) of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. Under NRI Quota, the candidate can be NRI or a close relative of NRI. Even for foreign students who seek admission through ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations), a fixed number of seats are allotted. Apart from category wise reservations, there are special reservations for differently abled (5%), Ex- servicemen (6 seats), Descendants of Freedom Fighter (1 seat), Eminent sports person (4 seats). 5% seats are reserved for candidates qualified under Vocational Stream. The selection process is done through online counselling. Counselling in person will be conducted for special reservations and vocational stream candidates.

B.Sc. Organic Farming Course is not available in ADAC and RI. Instead, B.Sc. Horticulture and B.Sc. Agriculture are offered.
