• less recognized for research compared to BITS, Manipal, VIT
• massive batch sizes can dilute individual attention
• brand perception nationally is mixed — top companies less frequent; more service sector recruitment

bottom line: LPU is a good option if you're not getting VIT, SRM, Manipal, or KIIT. for CSE especially, the coding culture and placement infrastructure are functional. but don't expect IIT/NIT level outcomes. build your own profile — projects, internships, competitive coding — to stand out.

Bennett University > LPU for engineering/management, though both are private universities with their own strengths.

Bennett University (Greater Noida):

• backed by the Times of India Group — strong media/journalism brand, but engineering programs are also growing
• relatively newer (est. 2016), still building reputation but with the Times brand behind it
• Delhi-NCR location is a major plus for internships and placements
• smaller batch, better student-faculty ratio compared to LPU
• fee: ~Rs.3-4L/year

LPU (Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar):

• massive campus, very affordable fees, heavily skill-focused
• placement numbers look impressive but the quality varies significantly by batch and specialization
• far from major metro cities which limits internship access
• one of India's largest universities by enrollment

for CSE/engineering specifically: Bennett's NCR location and smaller, more focused batch give it an edge for quality placements. LPU works better if budget is a constraint or if you specifically want their entrepreneurship ecosystem.

neither is a top-tier choice if you have NIT/BITS/good state govt college options. if choosing between only these two, go Bennett for engineering — the NCR location and Times group backing outweigh LPU's scale advantage.

yes, LPU does accept JEE Main scores for B.Tech admission — and it comes with scholarship benefits which most people don't know about.

here's how it works:

• you can apply to LPU directly using your JEE Main score (no need to appear for LPUNEST, LPU's own entrance test)
• the higher your JEE Main rank, the bigger the scholarship you can get on fees
• LPU has a scholarship slab system: e.g., JEE Main rank under 10,000 = significant fee waiver, rank 10k-50k = moderate scholarship

the thing most people miss — if you're applying to LPU using JEE Main, don't skip giving LPUNEST too. LPUNEST scholarships can sometimes stack or provide better deals depending on your score. give both and see which gives better scholarship before committing.

also worth knowing: LPU has a large international campus, decent placements for CSE (~6-8 LPA avg), and a strong entrepreneurship culture. it's a reasonable option if you have a mid-range JEE score and want a private university with good infrastructure. fees before scholarship are on the higher side (~Rs.1.5-2L/semester) so make sure you've locked in the scholarship in writing before paying anything.

LPU does give an aggregate score for the MCA program. I chose LPU because of its strong curriculum and placement opportunities.
