Lovely Professional University conducts its own entrance exam, LPUNEST, for admissions. The exam is conducted year around in multiple rounds depending on the program and admission cycle. All admissions are merit-based via LPUNEST, national-level exams, or qualifying marks in the last examination. Students with more than 80–85% can secure direct admission without taking LPUNEST for a few UG and PG courses. However, these students will not be eligible for higher scholarships. Furthermore, LPU does not have a management quota.

Can I get an admission in Lovely Professional University without the LPU NEST?

There are two ways to look at this. LPU NEST is a compulsory entrance exam to seek admission to any of the engineering, MBA or any other courses at LPU. You can skip to appear for LPU NEST if you have qualified any national level entrance exam for the course you are applying to. If you have a JEE Main score for BTech or CAT/CMAT etc for MBA you can get direct admission at LPU.

However, in my opinion there are some advantages of appearing for the LPU NEST. If you qualify for it, you will eligible for a scholarship. The admission process is also very simple as everything is uploaded to the portal when you apply for LPU NEST and you just have to get it verified once selected.

LPUNEST is mandatory for some of the courses and is the minimum eligibility criteria as well, that you must fulfil. But for some courses it is only a scholarship test. So it is beneficial to appear for it as it will improve your scholarship as well.

Candidates taking up the concerned subject combination must have studied them for a minimum of three years in their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. A relaxation of 5% is provided to SC/ ST/ BC applicants. Admissions into the B.Ed course of LPU are merit-based determined on the basis of the candidate’s performance in qualifying examinations.
