LPU Faculties : Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 6210 Reviews

The faculty at Lovely Professional University (LPU) is a diverse group comprising mostly Ph.D. holders and master's degree graduates, with many having industry experience. The faculty-student ratio varies, with some departments having a ratio of 1:60, while others are lower, allowing for more personalized attention. Faculty members are generally approachable and supportive, often forming a friendly relationship with students. However, some faculty members are less experienced, particularly in the first year, leading to varied teaching quality.

The teaching approach includes using projectors, video tutorials, and practical knowledge, with a focus on interactive and student-centric learning. The faculty is accessible through various channels, including direct interactions, WhatsApp groups, and online university systems. The university conducts regular evaluations, including mid-term and end-term exams, with a marking scheme comprising attendance, continuous assessments, and final exams. While most students find the faculty helpful and knowledgeable, some express concerns about the inconsistency in teaching quality and language barriers.

Overall, the faculty is seen as supportive, with a commitment to student success and development.

Faculty:

The faculty-to-student ratio is 1 : 70. In a class there are 70 students (approx) in B. Tech CSE but in specialization there are less students. Faculties are good and helping to students. Students can easily approach teachers in their cabin. I cannot take the name but the teacher who taught me CSE121 is very cool and motivating teacher. Teacher who taught me physics is not good as he was always angry. There are CA's frequently but main exams are mid term and end term. Exams are not much difficult. Course is very relevant because it is much focused on coding (practical learning).

Academic behaviour in lpu has mixed quality, but many students feel faculty is not good as expected. Course curriculum is designed with theory classes and the timimng of classes 9am to 5pm, there is no extra time for coding practice or for self study. Exams are usually of moderate difficulty but evaluation process feels unclear to students and you have to pay charges for re cheaking or for re appering.

The faculty members are genrally knowledgeable and experienced in their respective fields. Though there is a lot of corwd the ratio bwtween the faculty member and student is good. Also most faculty members are approachable, supportive and friendly. Till now all faculty members have been really supportive and they explained their topics clearly and with practicals means too. I also agree that there have been some faculty members whose teaching methods were a bit traditional and theory focused but overall they were greatly knowledgeable and engaging. There are usual midems and endsems for theory subjects and only end term practicals for practical subjects. Mostly students are able to pass the exams and even if they failed or get less marks they are allowed to reappear for most of the exams. I think the course is mostly relevant to the curriculum.

Faculty relationship with the students is friendly and supportive. Some (not all) were very supportive and communicative personally. They did help out in various college issues, related with assignments, placements etc. Mrs. Neha Kohli was an amazing professor. She was not only wholesome but also kind and supportive in out work. I did not like Mrs. Megha Singh because she was not as kind as other professors in the university, however she was very knowledgable and helpful. Each semester had 2 terms and each term had an exam in the end.

How is the student-faculty ratio in the BBA course at LPU?

Amit MeenaBBA from LPU (2021 Batch)

LPU has a separate Management Department which is “Mittal School of Business”. It is accredited by ACBSP from the USA. NIRF has placed The LPU’s Mittal School of Business at 32 among top Management colleges in India.

There are more than 20 faculty members for Management courses, and LPU offers a total of 300 seats for BBA. The BBA courses have several specializations- Finance, International Business, Operation Management, Travel and Tourism Management, etc.

What is the faculty-to-student ratio in the Computer Science and Engineering course in LPU?

Himanshu RathoreBTech in Computer Science Engineering from LPU (2020 Batch)

Hello, This is Himanshu Rathore. I've completed my BTech CSE from LPU in 2021. LPU has helpful and generous faculty members. The B.Tech CSE faculty is highly qualified and dedicated towards students.

The department faculty is friendly and willing to engage with students. They put great emphasis on practical learning and share their own experiences while teaching. The CSE curriculum matches the academic standards of other well reputed Universities.

I am not aware of the exact faculty to student ratio at the CSE department, but I can assure you that there is ample staff for the branch. Mr. Kundan Munjal is one of the faculty members. He teaches Theory of Automata, Mr Anurag Singh Tomar teaches Computer Networking, Mr. Krishan Bansal teaches AI and Mobile Computing, and Mrs. Anjali Verma teaches Compiler Design.

These are some really good teachers and mentors from the B.Tech CSE branch. They are very helpful towards their students, and they offer valuable career advice apart from teaching so well.

All my teachers at the department have been very supportive. I firmly can say that LPU has some of the best teachers for BTech CSE.

What is the faculty-to-student ratio at LPU, and how would you describe the quality of the teaching staff?

Ayush SinghBJMC from LPU (2023 Batch)

Hello there, this is Ayush Singh completed BJMC from LPU. I would like to help you as I have completed my bachelor's at LPU and trust me, my experience was very good as per my expectations.

During my degree the average ratio was 50:1. A UG class usually has about 50 students and each professor teaches them. But as per my seniors, masters level classes have lesser students. To answer the second part, my experience was really amazing with the the faculty. The professors were very knowledgeable and knew their topics. They would also go the extra mile and help us with doubt sessions and extra classes if required

During my journey at LPU, I had a helpful and supportive teaching staff and mentors, they were priceless. In my first year I got a chance to interact with a very intellectual professor, he was a senior editor journalist from Times of India. He was very generous and helpful and guided me to find an internship and made me realize the value of knowledge outside the books and class.

What I mean is that the teachers there are very encouraging and they challenge you to go beyond your comfort zone and potential, and they are always there to help you out if you’re facing any issue, any student can contact them and take extra classes. which I like most about LPU. Unlike in any other government college where professors are not coming and not listening, instead LPU faculties are very punctual and cooperative.

During the LPU admission process, will I interact with faculty members or student committees?

VaishnaviB.Tech (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) from LPU

At LPU, a dedicated team of staff within the admissions department primarily handles the admission process. These are not faculty members or student committees. They're trained staff who specialize in guiding new students through the application, document verification, and enrollment procedures. While you might encounter faculty members at an information session or during a campus tour, the admissions department handles the day-to-day process.

How is the faculty in the MBA course at LPU?

GauthamStudent at LPU

The faculty in LPU's MBA department is professional and experienced in research and teaching. They provide practical knowledge to the students alongside smart classes. Students from different regions study at LPU, so the faculty use English to communicate with students from these regions.

During MBA courses, the professors encourage students to read physical newspapers to enhance their vocabulary. Professors organize the batch of MBA into different groups to discuss things in a group, which will further enhance their English speaking skills. During the placement drive, faculties train students and impart knowledge on how to crack an interview. They train students with the outside management world and help them equip in such a scenario.

Are the professors at LPU good?

ShivaayMCA from LPU, Batch 2022

I completed my Master's in Computer Applications from Lovely Professional University in 2022. LPU is one of the best universities in terms of studies, placement, faculty, and campus. The university's overall curriculum is quite academic-friendly, and the professors here are good at mentoring students. They are highly educated, and most hail from prestigious universities like IITs and NITs. The teachers are really helpful in all aspects. They not only aim to teach students but also to help them become successful.

The faculty members are young and energetic. They prioritize the overall development of the students, emphasizing excellence not only in academics but also in various aspects of life. If you're preparing for government exams or any other competitive exams; they are always available to support you whenever needed. All professors are PhD holders and are experienced. I consider myself fortunate to have such exceptional professors here at this university.
