LPU B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering: Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

VIT, SRM, Amity, Amrita, LPU, KIIT and MAHE are all good universities. As a BTech CSE Student at LPU, I can share a personal account. LPU has ranked amongst the Top 50 in the NIRF Engineering Rankings. The B.Tech CSE course is one of the top UG Engineering courses offered by LPU.

The course curriculum is updated and well-structured. It meets the global industrial needs, and is taught by a good faculty. The teaching staff is knowledgeable and guided us well. It competes with top Indian as well as International universities. 

Apart from the above mentioned, some of the other points as a student of LPU, why BTech CSE is a good option here, are listed below.

• LPU has tie ups with various universities and organizations. It has really good labs with the updated softwares to provide students with the necessary practical exposure alongside their theory.
• Students also get access to online study material such as research journals, annual reports, and other business dissertations for their projects.
• The placement record and the right mix of curricular and extracurricular activities makes LPU a preferred university. The highest salary package offered often goes up to 40 LPA and above. The previous year placement statistics are also given below.

I am a second year B.Tech CSE student at LPU. Here is the official data for 2023 B.Tech CSE placements at the university-

• The average package for B.Tech CSE/IT was INR 7 LPA in 2023. 
• The 2023 branch/course-wise highest package is not available, but the overall highest package was INR 54.75 LPA.
• During the 2023 placements, a B.Tech CSE student received a job offer of INR 52.08 LPA from Microsoft.

These were the B.Tech CSE placement highlights for LPU. The 2024 placements are currently ongoing, and the placement data is yet to be released. 

I did my BTech CSE from Galgotias University, but I will put forth an unbiased opinion. 

Here are some factors to compare the two universities-

LPU has good facilities and infrastructure, but I would suggest you opt for Galgotias since it will offer you better opportunities and academics.

1. Fees- 
   1. The tuition fee for B.Tech CSE at Galgotias is INR 1.54 lakh per annum. The exam fee is INR 15,000 per annum. 
   2. At LPU, the BTech CSE course fee is INR 1.40 lakh per semester. The exam fee is INR 4,500 per semester. But LPU offers various scholarships to meritorious students. You can visit- https://www.lpu.in/programmes/engineering/b-tech-computer-science for more details. 
2. Education- The faculty and curriculum of GU are better. Getting decent grades is also comparatively easier at Galgotias.
3. Management- LPU has over 10,000+ students in total, which is why it’s difficult for the college management to cater to the needs of each and everyone. The management at GU handles student problems more effectively.
4. Campus- LPU has a bigger and better campus as compared to Galgotias.

Both KIIT and LPU are considered as top private universities for engineering. But I can only speak in favour of LPU as I have done my education at LPU.

I interacted with my friends at LPU who have done their BTech CSE. More than 500+ recruiters visit the campus for placements every year. BTech CSE placements at LPU recorded INR 42 lakhs as the highest salary package. Additionally, LPU had 110+ recruiters from top colleges like IITs, IIMs, and NITs. The highest monthly stipend for any kind of internship at LPU is around 80k.

Tanya Arora, a final year BTech CSE student secured INR 42 lakh job offer from Microsoft. Amazon also offered INR 28 lakhs package. Utkarsh secured a position at Google HQ in Silicon Valley with a package of INR 1 crore. 

This I hope proves my point that LPU is better for CSE than KIIT.

The first thing that comes to my mind is the accessibility. Chandigarh University is around 17 kms away from Chandigarh and there are less transportation facilities to commute from Chandigarh to the university. LPU, on the other hand is 19 kms away from Jalandhar, but the campus is established on the main route. 

As far as the placement department is concerned, more than 500+ recruiters visit the campus for placements every year. BTech CSE placements at LPU recorded INR 42 lakhs as the highest salary package. Additionally, LPU had 110+ recruiters from top colleges like IITs, IIMs, and NITs. The highest monthly stipend for any kind of internship at LPU is around 80k.

So in my opinion, LPU is better for CSE than Chandigarh University.

I am in my final year of BTech CSE from LPU. I can personally say that our program stands because of the facilities, faculty members, and curriculum. It also helps us get industry exposure and gain both theory and practical knowledge. 

LPU provides projects, internships, and industry collaborations with both domestic and international organizations. I could also give time to extracurricular activities and pursue my other interests. I also could join clubs and societies. I also participated in competitions such as hackathons, codings, etc and represented the university at both national and international levels. LPU helps you to gain confidence and get an edge as well.

• Lovely Professional University (LPU) and Tezpur University are both excellent for CSE.
• Tezpur University is a central university with an NAAC "A" grade.
• UGC recognizes LPU as a private institution. 
• Tezpur University's CSE JEE Main cutoff is 15081-45390. 
• Students who pass the LPUNEST exam are admitted to LPU's B.Tech program.
• Course fee at LPU is higher compared to Tezpur University.
• Top recruiters for CSE at Tezpur University include Business Development Asia (HK), UB Group, ICI Paints, Parker Hannifin, and King Abdul-Aziz City for Science.
• Median salary offered at Tezpur University is 3.5 LPA.
• LPU also offers decent placements to CSE students with an average salary around 5 LPA.
• Top recruiters at LPU include Dell, Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Hindustan Unilever Limited, Tech Mahindra, HP Global, Intel, and Cognizant.

For CSE B.Tech both LPU and Brainware University offer competitive programs.

• Placements: LPU placement percentage is higher with average package 6.5 LPA and best packages 42 LPA. The placement percentage of Brainware University is almost 90% and the average package is 3.5 LPA.
• Fees: LPU fee for the course is 6.27 lakhs while Brainware fee is 3.9 lakhs.

LPU excels with better placement statistics and bigger campus, making it a better choice for CSE candidates.
