Bihar BSc Agriculture Admission 2024 is based on entrance exams like BCECE, AJEE and ICAR. Candidates can sit for any state or national-level entrance exam to seek admission to the BSc Agriculture course in Bihar. The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board, BCECEB conducts the BCECE exam to offer admission to the BSc Agriculture course in Bihar.

The round 1 of BCECE counselling is completed on October 29, 2024. The dates for round 2 were revised. Seat allotment result will be made available from November 15, 2024. Candidates can download the seat allotment order and report to their allocated colleges till November 18, 2024. Candidates with seat allotment at the College of Forestry and Environmental Sciences,  Munger, their document verification and admission for Round 1 has been revised to October 26 – November 10, 2024. 

BSc Agriculture is a 4-year undergraduate degree course. Candidates interested in pursuing BSc Agriculture should have done 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/ Biology. Bihar BSc Agriculture Admission 2024: Eligibility 

Candidates seeking admission into BSc Agriculture courses offered in Bihar must meet the following eligibility criteria.

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/ Biology.
  • The minimum marks required for admission vary depending on the university/institute.
  • They must be at least 17 years of age at the time of application. 
  • Candidates have to appear for the BCECE entrance examination. 

Bihar BSc Agriculture Admission 2024: Selection 

Selection to BSc agriculture courses in Bihar is based on the candidate’s performance in entrance exams like BCECE, AJEE or ICAR. Candidates clearing the exam have to appear in the counselling process to get selected. Once allotted a seat, they have to report to the allocated institute to complete admission.

The exam pattern for the Bihar BSc Agriculture entrance exams is given below.

ICAR AIEEA Exam Pattern

Candidates appearing for the entrance exam can either take Stream A or Stream B paper, depending on the subjects they chose in Class 11:

BCECE Exam Pattern

The BCECE examination will be conducted in a single stage in offline mode. Candidates seeking admission into Agricultural courses will be considered under the Agriculture group and will have to appear in one of the following groups of entrance examination:

  • Chemistry, Biology, and Agriculture Or
  • Physics, Chemistry, and Agriculture Or
  • Mathematics, Chemistry, and Agriculture Or
  • Mathematics, Physics, and Agriculture

The total number of questions will be 300 and for the marking scheme each question will carry 4 marks and a -1 mark will be deducted for an incorrect response.

AJEE Exam Pattern

Candidates seeking admission into Dr. C.V. Raman University, Bihar need to take the AISECT Joint Entrance Exam (AJEE) conducted by the University for admissions into several UG and PG courses including BSc in Agriculture.

The questions will be in MCQ format for 2 hours. The total number of marks will be 100 marks and there will be no negative marking in the examination.

AJEE is conducted in both online and offline mode. The details are given below:

Offline Mode

  • The details regarding the venues for the examination centres will be mentioned on the official AISECT website
  • The candidate will have the option to select their preferred exam centre while filling up the registration form
  • Candidates will have to fill in their answers on an OMR sheet
  • Candidates are allowed to use only a blue or a black ballpoint pen for answering the questions.

Online Mode

  • The details regarding the venues for the examination centres will be mentioned on the official AISECT website
  • The candidate will have the option to select their preferred exam centre while filling up the registration form
  • Through a user ID and password, candidates will be allowed access to the online exam.
  • A timer will appear on the candidate’s screen as soon as they start the exam.
  • Candidates will have the option to flag a question that they wish to attempt after completing the rest of the paper.
  • Candidates will have the option to submit their answers after he/she has completed the exam. The test will end automatically after the timer has ended.

Bihar BSc Agriculture Admission 2024: Counselling

The counselling is based on the entrance exam a candidate has appeared for. The counselling process for each entrance exam is given below.

BCECE Counselling Process

For the BCECE counselling process, which includes choice filling and locking, candidates can register online on the official website. Candidates must take note of the following points.

  • Registration for BCECE counselling will become functional only after the results are declared.
  • Candidates will be allotted seats according to the rank scored in BCECE.
  • The counselling fee has to be paid through bank challan.

At the time of reporting, candidates must carry the original and copies of the following documents.

  • Final BCECE Seat Allotment Letter.
  • BCECE Admit Card.
  • Six passport-size photographs (identical/ matching to the photographs used in the BCECE 2024 Admit Card).
  • BCECE Counselling Call Letter.
  • Class 12th/ Intermediate mark sheet and certificates.
  • Class 12th/ Intermediate admit card/ Hall ticket.
  • Class 10th mark sheet and certificates.
  • Date of birth proof or class 10th certificate.
  • Reserved category certificate.
  • Income certificate.

AJEE Counselling Process 

  • The counselling process for AJEE is held offline after results are declared. The short-listed candidates will be invited to attend the counselling process in order of ranks obtained by them.
  • The counselling schedule will be released on the official AISECT university website. Candidates must attend counselling at the allotted date and time. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of their candidature. Candidates will have to fill out a preference form. Finally, they will be offered seats based on merit and preference of course as chosen by them.
  • At the time of counselling, candidates will have to carry the required documents for verification. They will also have to pay a non-refundable fee for the counselling procedure. If the candidate accepts the seat offered, they will be required to pay the tuition fees at the time of counselling otherwise their admission will be cancelled and the seat will be offered to the next eligible candidate.

ICAR AIEEA Counselling Process

Students who have secured a place on the merit list will be able to participate in the ICAR counselling process. 

  • The counselling process is conducted in an online mode. The counselling fee is INR 2,000.
  • The counselling is conducted by the West Bengal Indian Council of Agricultural Research All India Entrance Examination (ICAR AIEEA) Reservation Policy.

A certain number of seats are reserved for students belonging to the background category.
