What is BTech Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning about?

Essentially, the B.Tech undergraduate program in Artificial intelligence and machine learning, revolves around programming of machines. In essence, it allows the candidate in communicating to the machine in the machine’s mother tongue. Thus in the program the candidate is required to learn these specific languages which can be used to customize the function of machines.

This is only one of the many faces of this program, a lot more is taught alongside these rudimentary topics. Many facets which aid the student in understanding the functioning are taught in this course, for instance information relating to knowledge representation, probabilistic models and reasoning methods are also taught to the candidate form the computer perspective.

The candidates just don’t solely learn about artificial intelligence; they are actually familiarized with more intricate of the decorum. For instance, they are taught about deep learning, human computer interaction and augmented reality. Some institutes also offer the students interdisciplinary courses during this program, students may be required to study edge computing, functioning of internet, psychology marketing one’s computer program and robotics.

It is not a new fact, but in recent years with the advent of the internet, a age of automation has also rapidly risen. The requirement of artificial intelligence is skyrocketing. The biggest companies in the global market revolve around programming for instance Facebook, google in foreign player and Wipro among the Indian IT companies may hire individuals who are passed out form this undergraduate course. Thus this may provide ample opportunity to the graduate once he steps into the service sector.

Why Study BTech Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning course?

The global market since the advent of the internet and smartphones have been leaning towards artificial intelligence. In the current automated age machines are required for successfully completing numerous tasks, lives of individuals in the current world are to an extent dependent on proper functioning of these machines.

  • The market share of artificial intelligence is projected to grow USD 190.61 Billion by 2025.
  • Ai in the current world is omnipresent; it has made its way in the service sectors on numerous levels.
  • In the current automated world, it is quite rare to find a sector or horizon untouched by AI.

Thus pursuing this field will enable the individuals in obtaining these highly favorable jobs which are only bound to increase with time.

B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Admission Process

Admission to the given course is essentially processed through two methods. Either an institute might conduct an entrance exam or it will scrutinize the candidate's merit by considering their performance in 10+2 matric exams. Some institutes conduct their sole entrance exams which are entirely focused on the allocation of seats in the given course. While other institutes also conduct similar BTech Entrance Exams, they also consider the performance of the candidate in the other India wide exams like JEE, for granting due admission. Steps in relation to the admission procedure are listed below.

Step 1: The candidate needs to pass his 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 50%, this aggregate percentage may vary, but it's similar for most institutes. Only after securing it would he be eligible for sitting for entrance exams for registration in the due course.

Step 2:Different institutes conduct different entrance exams, for getting into an IIT the candidate needs to pass IIT-JEE Advanced, some universities like Chandigarh university have their own exams which are required to be cleared for gaining a seat. Similarly, Universities like Indraprastha consider the marks of candidates in both their own university exam as well as in all India wide exams like JEE.

Step 3: Then the student is required to go through the counseling stage, some institutes might even have a personal interview stage which might be required to be cleared by the candidate.

B.Tech Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Eligibility

As mentioned the eligibility criteria for this undergraduate varies in relation to the college. Still, there are a few prerequisites that are essential for pursuing this undergraduate course in most institutes, this criterion has been further discussed below.

  • The candidate must have passed his 10+2 examination from the PCM field, from a recognized state/central education board.
  • The candidate must have secured an aggregate of 50% marks in his 10+2 matric examinations,
  • Candidates from SC/ST category will be eligible for admission after securing 45% marks in their matric examinations.
  • Lastly, specific university based examinations are required to be cleared to be considered as eligible for this course.

Campus Life

Over-all, campus life here offers a balanced mis of academics and extracurricular activities. Students get good opportunities to socialize through club, fests, and diverse peer groups. While the location and certain hostel restrictions may limit outside exposure, the infrastructure and campus facilities support both personal and professional growth. Your experience largely depends on how you actively you participate and engage in campus activities.

Internships Opportunities

VIT Bhopal University offers internship through it's placement and training cell, mainly in the 3rd year. Some students secure opportunities, in reputed tech companies, sometimes leading to PPOs. However opportunities are competitive, and many students rely on off-campus or remote internship to gain practical experience and improve employability.

Campus Life

The campus life is very joyful of our campus with around 12000 students. The yearly annual program is full of joy with friends and also including faculty. Techfest like Smart India Hackathon(SIH) Internal Hackathon etc. are conducted by our university. Brainware University has two libraries, one is Central Library and another is Pharmacy Library. These libraries has sufficient ammount of books whichever are needed to our syllabus. Our university also conducts internal and external sports ( like football, cricket, gamming, carrom board, volleyball etc.) both among various departments and announced price for the winner team. Extracurriculum including workshop, National day, etc.

Faculty

The faculty number is greater, it is around 60. The student-faculty ratio is 11:1 and all faculty are student friendly. All of faculty are friendly but among them I personally likes the core subjects faculty as they always stands at the time of coding or projects. The exams are categorised into two categories: Internal and External Internal exam marks are evaluated through two class tests + two assignments + presentation. The internal exam is moderate level, not so hard. External exam is conducted in the own university. This exam is tougher as compared to internal exam.

Placement Experience

Placements in the college are slightly on the lower side because they are there are placement but they are not like massive packages there the company the mass recruiters company come this college every year and their recruit at an average salary of 4.5 lakhs per year but there are some companies which came to our college is which offer large large salary package for like in the previous year previous year some of the students get place at Adobe company which offers annual package of 34 lakh but there are many few student select in the higher packages of the company most of the company acquires a large number of computer science student and average salary of 4.5 lakh to 6 lakh the highest package goes up to 43 lakh in our college which is the previous place the percentage is around 75% ratio and my plan is to get a decent placement from this college

Fees and Financial Aid

Currently I am pursuing BTech computer science it's semester fees is 61200 rs and 1000 rs lab charge which is yearly means only taken in once a year. Admission and registration fees total costs around 9 to 10 thousand rupees. Also there is no sochlorship for SC , ST and OBC in our university but there is a sochlorship given on the basis of 12th percentage only for first year students of every course the eligibility for this sochlorship is above 60 percent in Physics, chemistry, mathematics and english in class 12th. Also mention that exams fees is submitted before end semester exams for BTech computer science it's 4500 rs per semester and different for different courses. There is a certain period given by university to submit the course and exam fees and after that period there is a fine for late submission of fees. The sochlorship is alloted for jain students only they got 50% discount only on course fees and not on exam fees this is all about fee structure

Faculty

Faculty is so approachable there is a mentor assigned for every class and solve all problems of students it is easy to approach teachers for doubts and queries. There are three class tests are conducted in every course and two of them are compulsory. The class tests are 30 marks of each subject and I like to mention that there is no mid semester exams in our university only end semester exams are conducted which are 60 marks of each subject also there are external practical conducted which are around 20 marks each practical. The result is on the basis of end semester exams + practical + class test marks.

The 2 day annual fest that happens here goes by the name of "momentum", generally it is conducted in the month of october or november. It is total mess, there is not a single momentum where fights are not there and the most frustrating part is the managment, no one is there to stop those goons. I am from the batch of 2021-2025, but they did not allowed even us to enter the college for momentum, the statement they gave was "the space is full, no more students can come". How the fish the space is full, at the time of addmission you had space but when it come to providing services you are out of space!!!. The range and accessibility of books and journals available in the library is very varsatile. In short the library is good. The facilities and technological provisions within the classrooms has now imporved drastically. 2 years back there we using infrastructure of a old wacked school. The are many activity clubs in the college but all are formed in order to complete gp and cs hour form(it is a criteria in the college in order to pass the semester, you need 70 hrs to pass the semester. These are earn by donating in the clubs, activities, etc). Total useless clubs.

Fees and Financial Aid

starting year fees is around 240000 rupees which gradually increases and by the time you reach your final year(4th) it will be around 280000 rupees for the year. total amount counes out to be around minimum 1200000 rupees. about scholarship - total frauds, they changes the criteria of scholarship very quickly.(eg - I scored 74 percentile in JEE and the criteria for scholarship they told us at the time was 70 percentile, so I was eligible for the scholarship but when admission fee and other expenses were paid, they quickly turned around and said that the criteria for scholarship is now 75 percentile in JEE) They did not charged anything else but now they have started charging extra amounts for the re-apperaring, re-cheching and backlogs which they claim by the time of admission that they will not. (I am a passout with first division)

Course Curriculum Overview

Well I choose this course specifically cause you know my first preference was IEM for the rank that I got and then I was more kneen about this branch which is CSE(AIML) because of the current trend about this subject , and thankfully I got that . Well the curriculum in general, well i'll tell you , the curriculum of IEM is so hectic that even my brothers corporate schedule feels light , I mean yeah that's what not just me and my brother but a lot others people has to say about IEM . Well about the course the subject is definitely in trend right now so hopefully it prepares well for the real world . Improvements , actually this is not about college but about the whole system in India . You see in engineering there are a lot of subjects which are actually very unnecessary and you would never need them anywhere. But in this way somewhere or the other the main subjects do not get that much priority which are actually helpful for future . Well there are 3 theory and 3 practical exams per semester which is actually hectic , cause not even a moth your semester starts you would have exams . Though the level of questions are moderate .

Campus Life

Well I want to be honest here , there are a quite good number of fests going around the campus , but the campus size is definitely very small and the events do not happen big due to this reason . But the efforts of facilities, seniors to still carry on the event in the best way possible is actually appreciable . Talking about the library , it is air conditioned, has working computers for self study is accessible for everyone and 24/7 usable , but the books are very much limited to the course books . The classrooms do have mic , projector and computers , but sometimes they just don't work . Look for sports and extracurricular activities, there is not much space to play on campus , infact there are no grounds . But there are sports events happening quite a lot time , but due to lack of space they become difficult to play . Yeah definately there are clubs run bg the students , but not much active excluding one or two , where you have to get through and get posts through politics and if you are known to seniors .

Placement Experience

The placements at Malla Reddy Engineering College For Women are moderate and manily focused on entry level opportunities. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from 6th or 7th semester.placement cell provides regular training in communication, resume building, interviews to improve employability. comapnies such as TCS,infosys,Wipro, cognizant,Accenture,Capgemini, and Tech mahindhra commonly visit campus.the average package is around 6-7lpa, while highest package is 46lpa offered to few.approximately 60-70% of students of eligible students get placed each year, especially who maintains good academic performance. while top-tier companies is limited, they provide decent support. My plan after completing degree is either secure a job through campus placements or to pursure higher studies

Fees and Financial Aid

As a current student, I’d say this college is genuinely good overall, but not perfect. The best part is the academics and exposure. Most professors are knowledgeable and helpful if you actually approach them with doubts. The curriculum is fairly updated and focuses on practical understanding, not just theory. Labs and classrooms are well maintained, and you get decent access to equipment and resources for projects. There are plenty of clubs, technical events, and fests, so if you’re proactive you can build strong skills and a good network. Placements are solid for core branches and decent for others, with multiple companies visiting every year. The campus environment is competitive in a healthy way, which pushes you to improve. Infrastructure is another strong point. The campus is clean, organized, and has good internet, library, and study spaces. Hostels are manageable and safe. You won’t struggle for basic facilities like food, transport inside campus, or medical help. Now the weaker side. Not every faculty member teaches with the same quality or energy, so sometimes you end up relying on self-study. Administration work can be slow and bureaucratic when it comes to documents or approvals. During peak exam or fest times, things get crowded and resources like labs or common areas feel insufficient. Also, if you’re expecting constant hand-holding for internships or career guidance, you won’t get it automatically; you have to chase opportunities yourself. In short: if you’re lazy, you’ll feel average here. If you’re self-driven, this place gives you enough tools, exposure, and opportunities to do very well.

Campus Life

Campus life is active and social. Students mix through clubs and events. Technical and cultural fests held yearly. These usually happen in winter months. Fests bring competitions and workshops. They improve teamwork and confidence. Library has good core subject books. Limited latest journals are available. Digital access helps for research work. Classrooms have projectors and smart boards. WiFi works well in most blocks. Labs have basic but usable equipment. Sports grounds support many games. Gym and courts are open daily. Coding and robotics clubs are popular. Cultural clubs handle music and dance. Student groups run events independently. Overall life feels engaging and balanced.

Faculty

Faculty memebers are literallyyyy good , and can be said best. Their unique teaching styles makes us remember the course. Course structure & marking scheme is followed throughout the semester and exam systems are also nice though. College doesn't lack behind in terms of academics although. The facultiies I liked.. pankaj wadhwani sir (his way of teaching is friendly and has alot knowledge, never disappoints on asking the doubts) There were two main exams throughout the semester (MST 1 & MST 2) and it's difficulty was medium though.

Course Curriculum Overview

Teaching us to ask "WHY" "why am I studying this?" "What is the significance of this topic in real world?" And alot like that.. not teaching only the topic but also the application and use in real world. This influenced my decision even more that I chose the correct institution and also it does prepare for real world applications. The exams (MST1 & MST2 ) should have been completed earlier . It was too late compared to other colleges and also the gap between MST 1 & MST 2 was more than required.

The relationship between faculty and student is OK. The hods are some type of irresponsible and try to control us for personal issues. The best faculty I liked was Mr. Veeraiah sir who taught me BEEE subject.he is very good at teaching. He has incredible teaching skills. The person I don't like is our hod sir. He didn't even know our issues. Act smart in front that students has no issues. Our class members very Competitive they will learn everything by their own even if teachers not taught the leasons. So the failures of my is very negligible those are also due to some health issues.

Campus Life

Every December the college keeps a 24 hour hackathon which involves all 1st 2nd and 3rd year students. It is done with a particular theme on every year. The winners will get cash prize. In 2024 the theme is squid game and in 2025 the theme is Harry Potter. The name of hackathon is HACK-A-TRON. The main problem with this events is the attendance is not provided even we take permission from authorities. Simply the faculty tells he didn't approach me, such a bad teachers I ever seen in my life

The major fests are freshers and farewells and any other like TECHNOVA and tech fests. The library facility is very good here all types of materials are avalible and recently e-books are also started. The classrooms facilities are normal nothing special and projectors and ac's are avaliable. SVECW give great importance to sports and they even allocate special trainers for the new sports also if students are intrested. There are more than 20 clubs which are run by students.

Faculty

The faculty at SVECW are experienced and mostly supportive. The faculty-to-student ratio is adequate, allowing good interactions.some senior faculty members teaching core subjects are particularly effective. But a few faculty memerbers rely heavily on theoretical teaching with limited practical exposure.Exams are not very tough they are moderate.they are relevant to the curriculum only.almost 85%-90% students will pass

Faculty

The faculty is quite approachable regarding and doubts you have about their respective subjects and the relationship between the teacher and student actually depends on how frank the teacher is and how much the student really want to open up . Though generally it's quite decent . The faculty i like the most is my Math faculty , because not only he is my class's coordinator but also a great teacher and a great guide who is very calm and always have an atmosphere around him where a student would feel very comfortable to talk about anything he/she wants to speak . The faculties i didn't like aren't many but it might just be for few reasons because maybe they are strict or maybe sometimes they get angry on the very silly things asked by us . There are two MST exams of 20 marks and one Main sem exam of the 70 marks along with the internal viva and external viva . The exam difficult is between easy-moderate , it doesn't seem very tough to crack if you know your subject and you have studied properly . The course curriculum seems a bit old but it still works fine because many times faculty give us extra information which seems to be very interesting and new to know about .

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure of my college comes under some categories , the people who have scored percentile ranging from 70-80% in JEE mains they are required to pay 68,000 as the tution fee for the year irrespective of the course they choose . Secondly if their JEE main score exists between 80-90% then they have to pay annual fee of 64,000 and if their JEE main percentile lie between 90-100% then they are required to pay the amount 62,000 yearly as the tution fee . The caution fee of my college is 1500 rupees and the registration fee for my college is 2000 . My batchmates fee are also similar to mine , The fees I pay yearly is 64,000 . Some who have scored lesser in jee mains , they pay amount 1,10,000 or something around it and some pay around 90,000 as it all depends on how good they have scored in jee or the boards .

Fees and Financial Aid

-My yearly fees is 69,700 INR. Every semester I have to pay 34850 INR. -I have Reimbursement scholarship from my government - Andhra Pradesh. -My government has paid for 1 and half year only, now I am in my final year. -But for each semester excluding the yearly fees i have to pay atleast 10,000 INR for CRT and VAC, also included other exam fees as well. -Every year I have to pay 5000 INR includes building fees and University fees. -I am studing in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for which my fees is 69,700 INR per year. -My other batchmates across other departments like EEE, MECH,ECE, CIVIL, other core branches of CSE will be paying various amounts based on their selection of their department and extra course which they can opt to study. -Government of Andhra Pradesh has promised its student to provide scholarship for all the students who are under the eligibility criteria of the Scholarship under Reimbursement Tuition Fee (RTF) -Based on different caste systems, the scholarship has been deposited across various timelines into their respective bank accounts linked to according to the Government rules. -For my caste students(BCB), the scholarship has been deposited into my mother's bank account every 3 months : 4 quarters across the entire year which is 17,425 INR per quarter. -While coming to the other minority caste (SC, ST), the fee structure from the Government is different. It only had 2 quarters. The Government also covered other facilities like Hostels, Laptops in some cases. -For my junior batchmates, it is going to increase every year as per the latest news from my college. -In this way, the college fee structure is divided and varied across all the different departments and various students based on the Government scholarships to different caste people.

Faculty

-The faculty in my college is very good. Everyone is very well educated with various Phds under every faculty. -All faculty is very supportive encouraging every student to follow their passion. -Their encouragement is throughout the board encouraging us to not only study but to participate and win in various college activities. -For every 5 months, we have a semester with exams conduted day-by-day during the semester. -Every semester has 5 subjects with 2 external and internal labs varying across to the juniors as there is now some changes to their courses. -The mark scheme is out of 100 marks. The semester exam will be written for 70 marks. The rest of the 30 marks are accumulated from my mid-exams. -These mid-exams are conducted twice every semester for which 80% of the maximum marks + 20% of the minimum marks will be added as part of the rest of the 30 marks. -The faculty-to-student ratio is approcimately 1:25 which is fine as the professors are readily available for any student. -I liked SivaSankari madam due to her supportive nature. -I disliked Nagesh sir as he shows care in a tough manner which is very scary. -We have a good pass percentage with a pass-to-fail ratio of 9:1. The professors are very good and encouraging and will choose to help the students in need.

Ques. How is the course curriculum of Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Cyber Security & Forensics) in DIT University Dehradun?

Ans. I chose this course because since everything is being digitised there is going to be a huge requirement of people who can keep all the data safe, I believe this course will help me be on of the professionals who would contribute to safekeeping of digital data. Each class has about 50 students and there are different teachers for every subject. Most of the faculty has done their PhD and most of them know what they're talking about. Exams happen twice a semester, mid semester and end semester in addition to class tests and assignments. One can pass most subjects if they are attentive in class.Read more
