What Students Say
Likes
- The teaching faculty is really nice and polite. They usually help students even when u contact them after college hours.
- The engagements and the quality of the social interactions in this college is also very good and very uplifting.
- The quality of the infrastructure is very good compared to other colleges in du, considering its very new.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because the thought of learning about the literature of the older times was pretty exciting to me while I was choosing the course. The curriculum however does prepares you if you want to continue ur academic journey in the English field.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am currently a student in Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College. The duration of my course is 4 years because of the NEP but we can quit anytime like any other college under DU. The fees are paid in a yearly basis. In my 1st year I paid approximately 30k rs and am currently in my 2nd year and i paid approximately 32k and I am not sure about the 3rd year fees yet tbh. They increase the fees slightly over the years. Based on the first two years, the estimated total fee for the entire course may come to around ?1.2–1.3 lakhs. As for the category wise fees, there is some difference between the the reserved categories and the general category but I don't have the exact numbers. I personally have not received any scholarship so I am not sure. The fees are paid online, and late payment attracts a fine. And the full year payment has to be paid at once. Overall the fee structure is reasonable considering the facilities provided.
Campus Life
The annual fest ot our college is called KALRAV, it usually happens in the month of February or March. As for the range and accessibility of the books and journals in the library, they are pretty available to all and as for the range it expands to over 3 floors. There are multiple societies such as TedX, Markonic, etc. There are multiple sports club like volleyball and football too.
Admission
I applied for this college because of 2 main reasons to be exact..one, its co-ed, after studying in co-ed schools my whole life it would have been hard of I applied for all women's college. 2nd its infrastructure and NIRF ranking, even tho its an off campus college, its still one of the best colleges under DU. As for the admission process, one needs to give the CUET exam and have to follow the procedure of DU with the CSAS portal.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio for my course is very appropriate, eg. 2:1. But at the same time it's also very draining for the students and teachers both. There is only the mid terms in terms of exams and they are pretty hard of we don't focus in class. And fortunately none of the students fail. The course curriculum is pretty relevant in terms with the course.
Night Life
The nightlife inside the college particularly doesn't exist until it's a fest season or hostel functions. As for the campus timings for day scholars, its 8am-6pm mostly. The famous hangout spots arround the college are Vegas Mall and dwarka mor.
