Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum for Bsc Life sciences is very well with cherishing subjects of SEC skill enhancement course and VAC value added course . There are three core subjects each related to 1. Zoology 2. Botany 3. Chemistry This curriculum prepares well for research oriented future and make your basics strong. After doing this course it opens wide options for students to chose their path . Frequency of exams are twice a year and 2 internals a year. Difficulty level of internals is moderate but end sems can be tough to tackle.

Internships Opportunities

3

I've listened from my seniors that there are many internship opportunities in college and out college. Some internships are paid and some are free wothiut stipend. There is a placement cell in college and mostly commerce students get placed on campus because science students prefer more higher studies after bsc.

Fees and Financial Aid

?Fee Structure: I am paying an annual fee of ?32,155 for my course. The fee structure for Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College is slightly higher compared to some other Delhi University colleges, but it is justified given the state-of-the-art infrastructure (fully air-conditioned campus). ?Year-wise Fees: ?1st Year: ?32,155 ?2nd Year: ~?32,155 (Subject to minor university hikes, usually ?1k-?2k) ?3rd Year: ~?32,155 ?Fee Breakdown: The fee is not just tuition; it is divided into several heads: ?Tuition Fee: This is nominal (approx. ?180/year). ?College Facilities & Maintenance: This forms the major chunk (approx. ?10,000 - ?15,000) covering the AC, library, and lab maintenance. ?Student Welfare Fund: Covers cultural societies, sports, and events. ?Development Fund: For campus infrastructure. ?University Charges: Exam fees and enrollment fees are separate or included depending on the specific semester notice. ?Fees for Other Categories: The academic fee is generally uniform for General, OBC, SC, and ST categories. However, students from the PwD (Person with Benchmark Disability) category are usually exempted from the major fee components and only have to pay a nominal amount (approx. ?2,000 - ?3,000) largely towards the Student Welfare Fund. ?Scholarship & Financial Aid: The college offers several financial support systems for students who find the fees difficult to manage: ?Fee Concession/Financial Support Scheme: Every year college provides scholarship to students worth rs 10,000 to those who fulfills criteria of attending 75% attendance and securing 80%in previous class.

Campus Life

4

My overall college experience is quite good. There are various college societies like Enactus(for business),Raaga(dance society) ,yavanika(theatre society),rhapsody(music society) and many departmentals society. There are various different books present in library academic and non academic both. There is 3 floor library. There is computing facility centre (ICT) lab. Sports and curricular activities are being promoted in this college .there are various sports like volleyball, football, table tennis, badminton Most famous Archery.

Admission

I had a chance to float and choose other colleges of Delhi University But this college has everything which a modern infrastructure college wants and lab facilities for sciemce students is much good than north campuses. Modern infrastructure of this college gives competition to North campus of delhi university. I applied for Delhi university and colleges which i selected was Hindu college,Ramjas college,SGTB khalsa,Deen dayal upadhyaya ,kirori mal college, etc. But in first round i Got Deen dayal college so i continued with it and froze my seat . Later on E mail came from college for joining. Your documents verification occurs in november and you are given a more chance if you are not able to submit the documentt. Eligibility of my course: PCB background with 60% in 12th And tou should apply for CUET and select subjects like Physics, chemistry and biology also English(qualifying). Cutoffs are generally low in 2nd and 3rd round .

Faculty

4

Faculty to studemt ratio is quite healthy .it is 1:20 in practical classes and 1:50 in theory classes.Teachers are well qualified and very good to students and listens every problem of student. I liked Mr. Tenzen Notup sir who teaches plant diversity and systemetics subject practical very well and he help us to learn .There are best faculties for Botany,Zoology and chemistry. Very less chances of not liking a teacher all are veryy good. There are internal exams which genearally held in september or october .afyer that end sems happens from december 10th of every year. Course curriculum is relevant to NEP 2020 and it depends on students whether they are studying or not if they won't study exams are not easy to clear.

Night Life

3

There is gym facilities for student's after college. There is cafeterial and stationary inside campus and cafeteria has large variety of items and menu. Famous hangout places outside college is Sanjay van,Sunder nursery, india gate and many delhi tourist places.

Students become eligible for campus placements around 5th to 6th semester. Highest package of 2024 was 25LPA. Usually 8CGPA is considered a sweet spot for campus placements plus it gets them easier to get into world class universities for post graduation.

Reviewed on Mar 3, 2026(Enrolled 2024)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course Biomedical Sciences is very interesting as well as challenging, it covers various fields of sciences and has great scope in terms of research. The course connects theory with real world applications in hospitals and research laboratories. A few examples would include, antibacterial testing, PFT, EMG, blood tests, which are commonly performed in hospitals. The course also helps us to pursue our hands in research further by providing us with hands on training for skills such as biostatistics, writing scientific literature, lab skills, etc. A few improvements that I would suggest is the removal of outdated testing methods and practicals from the curriculum that are not essential for the real world currently. The teaching methods are quite good and interesting. The exams are conducted at the end of each semester and are relevant to the curriculum. The practical exams test your knowledge of hands on experience that you've gained while doing lab work. Theory exams are of 3 hours as per usual and test your theoretical knowledge from books and classes mainly.
