Faculty

Some faculties are very friendly and approachable,they share study materials,tips and advises to help us study better. Whereas, there are other faculties that are arrogant and tend to choose their own method of teaching which does not resonate with the students and the students end up struggling. There are 2 series texts conducted as internals every sem along with the semester exams. Same applies for lab.

Campus Life

I have been actively involved in clubs and societies from my first year. It was a good experience to network with other peers, organize and volunteer for events. There exists multiple clubs like IEDC, IEEE, Fortitude (Mental Health), TBT(Literature), FOSS, etc and an annual national level tech fest "Excel" held every March. Other events include Arts and Sports days, Onam, Christmas, Ethnic Day, etc.

I am a student of the Electronics and Biomedical department of Government Model Engineering College and I happen to have a great experience with the teachers and faculty. The strength in my class is about 70 and the faculty in the department ranges about 20 staffs. We do have 2 series exams prior to the main University exam. Also an internal lab exam is conducted prior to the external lab exam. The teachers I like the most in my department is Mrs. Jessy John. She is an extremely talented teacher and excels herself in the field.Exams are not that difficult as questions are from what the teachers already taught.

The decision to choose Electronics and Biomedical Engineering was that I believe it is a field with lot of scope to work and research on.I feel like the current syllabus of the curriculum does not prepare students much for Industrial application and I feel a change is necessary in that field.Some suggestions that I would like to give about the same is including industrial and hands on experience for the same. There are 3 exams in semester 2 exams of 20 marks that are CIA and 1 of them is written and other one can be quiz, viva, presentation etc. And end sem exam is of 60 marks that is written.

There is annual fest name is Vivekananda youth fest that is held on 12th Jan of one week. All the faculty are friendly and approachable but few are so strict and couldn't talk to them but most of them are sweet and friendly. about the course we would get 5 to 7 subjects per sem with specific credits for it. exam system we would have 5 units in total in that cat 1 would have only unit 1 which is an open book test then cat 2 contain units 2 and 3 then cat 3 with all 5 units and then the university exam. all these exams would be written for 100 marks that is 10 mcq five 6mark questions and 512mark questions. many best faculties are there but some of them are satyachithra mam preetha mam sankari mam Saravanan sir etc exams are easy if we prepare well we can easily pass them.
