Likes
- Involvement in club core committees and organizing events.
- Some faculty are really nice, friendly, good to be around, help with studies as well.
- Ladies Hostel is amazing. Good wardens, cctv cameras and security for protection , good food and friendly chefs, good quality rooms and bathrooms, events like LH Day, Christmas, etc are celebrated.
Dislikes
- Infrastructure is poor. Poorly maintained bathrooms and old classrooms and labs.
- Some faculty are arrogant and take to their own methods of teahing. Students tend to detest their classes.
- Faulty components and equipment in laboratories. Sometimes they put the blame on us when it was damaged already and ask for fine.
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum is good and has direct influence in the field of interest. We have subjects such as signal processing, Python and C Programming, Medical Imaging Techniques, Study of analyical and diagnostic equipment, Design Thinking an Hospital Engineering etc. The semesters put forward byt KTU are pretty tight and hecic but the subjects are very interesting.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yea wise fee i pay for tuition is 76000Rs under management quota(approx 38000 per semester). For state merit students, it comes to around 28000 per semester approximately. For hostel, have to pay cution deposit of 10000 and monthly fee of 7000 which includes rent, and mess.
Campus Life
I have been actively involved in clubs and societies from my first year. It was a good experience to network with other peers, organize and volunteer for events. There exists multiple clubs like IEDC, IEEE, Fortitude (Mental Health), TBT(Literature), FOSS, etc and an annual national level tech fest "Excel" held every March. Other events include Arts and Sports days, Onam, Christmas, Ethnic Day, etc.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel is very good. It is semi furnished with cot, table, mini cupboard, hanger and chair. There's curtain and mosquito nets for windows. Proper ventilation fans and normal fans along with lights are installed. Good bathrooms with facilities for ladies. Mess food is good. 4 meals a day- breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner. Fee is 7000 per month including rent and mess. Wardens are friendly and good. proper security nd CCTVs in and around hostel.
Admission
I opted for this college as it had a good reputation with its strong alumni network and placements. I got in through KEAM examination in the management quota. The fees are low compared to some other colleges i explored and i heard there was less spoonfeeding here unlike other colleges so there would be more emphasis on self-study.
Faculty
Some faculties are very friendly and approachable,they share study materials,tips and advises to help us study better. Whereas, there are other faculties that are arrogant and tend to choose their own method of teaching which does not resonate with the students and the students end up struggling. There are 2 series texts conducted as internals every sem along with the semester exams. Same applies for lab.
Night Life
College is usually closed after 6pm unless there is an event happening. There are plenty of stores around college. Transport facilities like buses, auto, metro are available nearby too. Ladies Hostel curfew is 9:30pm.
