Course Curriculum Overview

The course I have chosen is electrical and electronics engineering which is a course which highly core. The college provides best facilities for this course Also the teaching methods are very impressive that we have smart class rooms and projecters and also we have great facilities for studying. Lab facilities are very decent and adaptable The timing of examination are like we have 2 internal assessment in a semester and an end semester examination which is 2.5hrs a subject.

Internships Opportunities

In average students have been receiving 20k per month on stipend from companies The one of the most important project outcome is the solar panel installation in 2017 Which provides the electricity and mec is self sufficient in the energy needs Biomedical innovations in 2021 they created 3 innovative biomedical projects .

Almost all students who passout is placed in a company . Here placements are very high and almost 100% placements are offered . The companies that visited the college are Technology and IT Services: Infosys, TCS, IBM, Tech Mahindra, Accenture, Cognizant, Oracle, Deloitte, and Tata Motors. Software and Internet Services: Adobe, Redbus, and Ansys. Professional Services and Analytics: Deloitte and EY. Electronics and EDA: Synopsys. In the 2023 placement season, MEC achieved significant milestones: Total Offers: 273 Branch-wise Offers: Computer Science and Engineering (CSE): 106 Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE): 97 Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE): 32 Electronics and Biomedical Engineering (EBE): 38

Fees and Financial Aid

Year wise the fees for studying btech degree in this college is around 35k.which is the tusion fees only . Thier is an other 5000 pta fees and another 6000 for all other fees like( lab fees,travel fees, development fees etc). Also thier is no caution deposits to be paid. Thier is fees concession for the highest ranked student according to kerala entrance(fw) they only need to pay 9k instead of 35k.Also thier is fees concession scholarship for students who have low income. The concession is according to their financial background example the scholarships are Suvarna Jubilee Merit Scholarship,Central Sector Scholarship etc

Campus Life

Excel is the technical festival which conducted in the college it is the 2nd largest tech festival in Asia and is very innovative and provides great exposure for students And when we come to sports activities Mec provides sports activities like , football cricket volleyball basketball table tennis badminton chess Koko and many more sports activities Clubs in mec includes tinkerhub,bhoomithrasena,IEEE,bharatham,DSC MEC,Cyborg And when we come to class room facilities its extremely advanced and very well maintained with great faculties

Hostel Facilities

I live in yhe govt men's hostel of model engineering college and the accomadation and food fees come around 3.5 to 4.5k a month. The food quality is very good and also we have chicken 4 days a week which is great in this price range Hostel registration and accommodation is done by looking the students distance from home to college and income of thier parents

Admission

The college that i applied other than model engineering college is CET trivandrum which is the best college under ktu in kerala . And the second is model engineering college. I would have got admission is any other colleges in kerala . I choose model engineering college because of its placements and academic progress. Also this college have 80 % pass rate The admission process is through keam allotment and the eligibility examination is keam. Also with half weightage of your plus two examination results pf your respective board. Getting admission in this college is only through merit

Thier 2 series exam in every semester which is the internal assessment conducted by the college. The semester exams are conducted very tightly by the ktu with very short time period

The admission to government model engineering college is only based on rank in kerala entrance examination and colleges are alloted through allotment process no other things like interview and test patterns

Night Life

Our college mens hostel provides gym inside the hostel and free of cost and the outside campus is also very nice as it is situated in kochi. For first years the hostel curfew is 7 pm and 2nd year onwards its 10 pm We have many places like edapally lulu mall,marine drive,fort kochi,cusat etc

Students in 7th and 8th semester are eligible to sit for campus placements. Companies like Oracle, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Bajaj, Caterpillar and PSU's like BEL,HPCL and BPCL come to the college usually the coding companies offer aroung 35-40 LPA CTC and the core PSU companies offer around 17-18 LPA. Highest Package is 51 LPA and an Average Package of 12 LPA.
