Amrita University Kollam has a placement cell that organizes various training sessions. Students who are eligible and opted for placements have more than one job offer, on average. Placements are facilitated by enhancing industry-academia association through frequent visits, interactions with the top management and facilitation of Faculty Development Programs, Student Visits, Industrial Training, and Project Guidance under the Corporate Action Plan. In 2019 several of our students obtain paid internships as a part of their PG program at leading companies such as Schlumberger, Microsoft, Intel, Daimler, etc. These internships last six months to one year and often lead to direct placements within their respective companies. The median internship amount was at INR 25,000 per month and the highest offered was INR 80,000 per month.

A brief Explanation about my experience.

Likes

Best faculty and the teaching is much affordable a lot positive response from a faculty side and you can reach them at any cost at any time in your needy situation.This is the best thing.
Sports is also good and they will also conduct annual meet yearly once and you can play any game which you liked
You can have a good conversation with your seniors and no ragging and it will be very good opportunity if you want to explore from clg in the hacathons and extracurricular activities.

Dislikes

No good communication with the girls in Fest and all the day too.
We have to wear college uniform everyday without fail.
In rainy seasons it will be too good and in summer season it will be too hot in this region.

Student view on course curriculum and exams

The subjects they focused in for the students is nice.First one is the subjects are first relevant to your previous studied subjects for 1st year after that they purely focus on computer science and them on your technical skills in the curriculum you can also see that soft sills also there as a separate course in our regular curriculum and it is preety good as no like other colleges and universities. The exam trimming is also good if you study you can write the whole paper in time and enjoy the climate. The are teaching on online with projector we can understand easily.

Internship opportunity provided by the college

Google offers a decent internship for our normal technical skills in a appropriate way of technology. As a new intern. You have to be in a present world for updateion to get a right job for your worthy skills as you are a software background in your tech.

From sixth semester you will also having chance to get placement it depends on your skills and average study percentage and projects, you will also getting int r ships availability to your skills and research also possible. Companies visited our campus last year is Google, Microsoft, oracle, and etc..

Yearly fees structure of the college

Year wise tution fees is 600000. In extra we will be having 10000 caution deposit and 10000 for registration fees and no other lab or development fees will be taken from us. There will be 4 slabs. According to your marks in the entrance. First slab will contain 1.5 lakes per year and slab 2 will be paying 3 lakhs per year and 3 rd slab will pay 4lakhs and 4 th slab will be paying 6 lakhs and they also have to pay the extra money for the things which I mentioned in the top of this response.

You can join in your interested clubs. There are any clubs like music club, arts club, spoken English club, technical club, dance club, video editing club, and movies club too. Sports clubs also there you can also participate in different games daily and every month you will have events from your clubs to participate in your respective fields.

Hostel facilities provided by the college

For a room there is highest can stay is 4 and lowest can stay is 3.Good for a reasonable money and food not that much good as we are not familiar with thees type of spices and when we are registering the admission for college then itself you need to register for that also. It is located along with a bridge and 100 meters away to Arabian sea near hostel. Over all good facilities provided according to your living.

Student views on the faculty

The faculty to student ratio is 1 per 10 you can connect to them at any time. I like the Namitha mam she teaches python and she also good with everyone. Namitha mam,Sreedeep sir, sharath sir, bindhya mam are the best faculties I ever seen in this campus. The way they approach students and solve the problem of our is preety good I am sure no one can beat them in interacting with students like them.

Admission process and eligibility criteria

First you need to write a entrance exam for this or you can join with jee or other exams. After the entrance results you will get a mail to which you were registered in the admission profile. I applied vit and srm too and I wrote entrance exam for that also and I choose this because I like the kerala climate thats why I choose this over that two. Noo I got selected from that two college's and using the Amrita admission portal using your credentials you have to login to that and you have to get a least 90% to get selected on Amrita for every year that will be changing comparing to last few years and it will also depend on your native place to get admission you will be having advantage If the campus is in your area over others.

Night Life

Gys is there for every branch and swimming pool, canteen are public areas are too greeny and canteen costs are too affordable and gym trimmings are morning six and for half an hour you can doo and in the evening too same the timings.

Compared to other government colleges the value of the ceirtificate in Amrita is much better. Admission process in Amrita is done online but you need to provide physical copies of the ceirtificates to complete the admission procedures. To get admission in Amrita you need to qualifiy a certain mark in JEE mains or Scholorship exam provided by Amrita and the also accept students on the basis of merit.

My college accepts jee and AEEE exam. Accordingly students are categorised to each category and fees are different fir each category. I choose thrissur engg college before this. But placements are very poor there

the non teaching staffs are goated, they help in all terms p.s even helps in the examination too. ( should be a secret) but overall they are really co-operative
i like the vast possibilities i can find in this college, as this is a small college i get and reach to places more quickly

I choose this collefe because it was my second choice basically, my first choice was to crack JEE and join any top college to VIT or AMRTA . These were my plans , but reality and my marks / rank made me join AMrita. For me to join Amrita it was so simple as a piece of cake , firstly i got my rank and opted for the desired course i wanted to take and join and within a week or so i got the admission letter

Dislikes

Some students feel there is room for improvement in non core activities like cultural exposure or sports infrastructure.
The rules and regulations on compass can be as so strict.

I liked the faculty and also the people around here.
Sports clubs and Events.University organized various sports club that allow students to join based on their interests.

Dislikes

There are only limited cultural events.I think there should be more cultural events .
Wifi stability in campus is not good.And the phone network will not be good in the campus.

When choosing a college several factors played a role in my decision to select Amma the Vishwa vidyapeethum campus from my cyber security program over other institutions applied to. Compared with other colleges I applied to 1. VIT Vellore 2. BITS Pilani 3. SRM institute of science and technology Amrita has an excellent repetition for its faculty in cyber security. The professors are experienced and have a strong academic background along with industry exposure which was highly appealing to me. Including well accepted cyber security lapse. These lamps focus on practical penetration testing ,network security ,and ethical hacking. Amrita amrutapuri is situated in a peaceful coastal area offering a conductive environment for studies the campus life is lively with several extra curricular and co curricular activities that I found very attractive. Wet Vellore and SRM also afford good campus life but were much larger in size and I felt amritas more intimate campus would be better for personalised learning.

I had applied to vit vellore (IT) and I choosed this college over vit because the location of campus and feedback of our seniors.The admission process was simple The student should either joins through 1.AEEE 2.jee mains Majority students comes through AEEE exam the jee cutoff will be from 85 percentile There will be a seperate portal and program will be conducted for the admission process

I have a friend who is an alumnus from the 2007-11 batch of the EEE branch and based on her input, I would highly recommend you to join this campus! In case you miss out on getting into NIT/IIT, trust me, you should go for Amrita as your third-best choice.

My friend had completed her B.Tech from Amrita and went to a top-notch government college for her M.Tech. It would provide you exposure like no other renowned college in the whole of Kerala. My friend and her batchmates were experts in the microcontroller program. Their expertise led them to participate in programming for FPGA.

The department and its faculties are highly qualified as expected. Most of the faculty members are doing their PhDs. Plus, some faculties are doing their PhDs from IITs as well.
Reputed conferences and journals consist of work by the institute's faculty members and students. Good funding is carried out to food projects wherein my friend's batch was one amongst them too.
The curriculum pattern is super flexible. A lot of spare time can be put into important projects and fast-track courses can be completed too.
My friend got herself the extremely prestigious student exchange program- Erasmus Mundus. She is currently doing their research for reputed companies in the country and abroad.
Since most of my friends and her batch-mates were offered jobs by that time, traveling to Coimbatore for that placement was not a big deal. This job opportunity came from companies like Renault, Schneider, Ericsson, etc.

Therefore, one should always consider joining Amrita for the EEE branch.

One of my friends was in Amritapuri so I know better about Amrita University than Manipal University, Chennai. The brand Amrita isn’t known among the IITs and NITs but the college is quite prominent among the companies and universities.

The placement stats are rarely released, but the alumni prove that the placement of this college is quite amazing.
You will be eligible for placements if you have scored above 6 CGPA.
The hostel life of this campus is not as good as compared to other colleges yet it’s bearable.
Boys aren’t much restricted from the hostel rules and regulations but girls have to follow the set rules.
There are sub-disciplines that you can join by joining The FOSS Club, the ICPC team, and CTF team.
For exploring FOSS you would have to join The FOSS club, for sports programming the ICPC team and for security CTF team will be a good opportunity.

We have 2 exam each semester, one is midterm(50 marks) and end sem(100 marks). Getting good marks in midterm helps to improve CGPA.

In girls hostel 3 students are placed in 1 room. Hostel food is not good( mainly dinner). Wasting food is not an option even if the given food contain too much salt. Other than that hostel life is good, we have a small gym available for girls near canteen in the hostel boundary.
