Course Curriculum Overview

3

As I said,I found the curriculum to be pretty boring because the syllabus is outdated except for business subjects.I would suggest to teaching more useful stuffs which gives us a upperhand to placements.Semester exams were not difficult to tackle for me because if studied properly during the exam leave,we could easily crack.

Internships Opportunities

3

Recently Oracle internship came to our college offering 50k per month for 3 months . The requirement was efficiency in Java ,Proper knowledge on Rest /Soap api etc.In the past month,Visa internship also came to our college offering 90k per month.

Placement Experience

5

Placements are the main highlight of our college.Highest package offered this year was 52 lpa by D.E shaw &Co . Average package was around 8lpa. Almost all students from CSE and ECE were placed . Companies: Redbus, Deloitte,TCS,UST Global etcs. Students from sem 6-7 are eligible for placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

Here semester wise fees is around 35k for management quota.Yearly it's around 70k. Besides Management quota ,There is Merit and NRI quota and fees is around 40k for Merit quota and 1lakh for NRI quota.Thers is also Sc/st quota which have lower academic fees.A scholarship is offered by Ex-Mecians which gives 10k to the students in need .Also there is scholarship for Top excellent students.

Campus Life

3

The name of tech fest being held every year in our college is EXCEL.As I said ,There are no monthly activities held in our colleges. All kinds of books needed for course related subjects are available in Library.Various clubs are present in our college like FOSS,Tinkerhub ,IEEE etc

Admission

My cousin studied here few years back and is now working a top tech company.I applied for Cs in MSRIT and AMRITA,but the fee structure over there is too high(around 3-4 lakh per year). Here overall fee amount is equivalent the yearly fee.To get admission in MEC,a person needs to write keam exam .Three phases of allotment are held in here.At the beginning of all allotment,we could change our preferences. For CSE BATCH,CUTOFF RANK FOR merit is around 2k and Management around 3.5k .For CSBS it's around 3k for Merit and 7-8k for management.

Faculty

3

Faculities are well educated and have thorough knowledge to teach students .All Facilities are pretty much friendly towards students and helps students to clear doubts on any subjects. The faculty I liked the most was Jayesh Sir .The subject he thought was engineering Graphics. He helped me to understand even the basic concepts of engineering drawing and made it easier for me to learn and love the subject. There is only semester exam at the end of every semester and regular series exams are held.In my batch,60/65 students cleared all exams I found curriculum to be pretty boring and not useful except the business subjects like Computational statistics and Statistical methods

Placement Experience:

The campus placements are decent. getting placed in a big company is more about having the technical and soft skills to pass the interviews. the placement training helps us develop soft skills but the technical skills must be developed ourselves.

Students in 7th and 8th semester are eligible to sit for campus placements. Companies like Oracle, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Bajaj, Caterpillar and PSU's like BEL,HPCL and BPCL come to the college usually the coding companies offer aroung 35-40 LPA CTC and the core PSU companies offer around 17-18 LPA. Highest Package is 51 LPA and an Average Package of 12 LPA. Nearly 85% students from Circuit and CS branch get placed and around 60% in core branches who sit for placements, My plans after getting the degree is to join MBA to learn how business world works and how the money flows
