Course Curriculum Overview

3

EEE is considered as the toughest department in terms of its syllabus as well as for placement. Syllabus is very outdated. Only 50% of it prepares you for real world applications. During first year we study various subjects which is absolutely no use for our course. Very vast syllabus.. But cant say its completly outdated it goes through base very welll

Internships Opportunities

4

Cognicor is one of the company. Tcs also provide internship oppurtunities Ge healthcare provide internship for various students .. Average stipend is 15-20k per month. Cognicor, tcs, philips healthcare, abilitics etc provide internship. Actually there is a quite lot of internship oppurtunities. I havent done any internship from college as i am in my 3rd year. Most of the oppurtunities are in 4th year

Placement Experience

4

I would say college placements are really good if you are looking for IT companies Core placements are very low. Electrical core placements are very rare , electronics core have much better placements. However 95% of students get placed if not in core then in software companies or in terms of internship

Fees and Financial Aid

For merit seat the fee structure is as follows 20,000/- per sem that is 40,000 per year For management seat fee structure is as follows 35,000/- per sem 70,000/- per year If you are eligible for fee waiver scholarship you have no tution fee. (Depends on income and keam rank) The remaining schloarships depends on caste and religion and income

Campus Life

3

Campus life is pretty average here. We have two major events one of them being our tech fest EXCEL. Excel is one of the biggest technical event held in kerala. It is a 3 day event. And it also includes dj night and musical gala. We also have arts and sports events held like a competition. There are plenty of clubs in mec for which you can involve and several events are held by them. But college experience differ from person to person. College have a good library. Most of them refrence text books are available there. A very well maintained library. Smart classrooms are provided. Lab facilities are pretty average for EEE. Extracurricular activities are encouraged but not in a very large scale. Participation in ktu competitions are encouraged

Admission

I applied to cet, tkm, gec for branches eee and ec My first option was cet for which i couldn't get admission due to my rank. Cet requires rank below 1000. And my second option was mec (my college). I choose this college over gec and tkm because it was in my home town itself and it had better placement opportunities. But cant compare mec with gec and tkm in terms of college life, campus area, facilities.

Faculty

3

Faculty to students ration depends on different branches. For 70 students upto 20 faculties are available. Faculties including lab staffs.. They are quite supportive even for poor lab facilitues. Without them students would have it very hard. In every sem there are 2 internal xams worth 50 marks. Then there is university sem xam for 100 marks

Night Life

1

College have zero night life. Libraries, canteens are closed at 4:30pm. And college do not have a gym. However college mens hostel and womens hostel have curfew at 10pm. In ladies hostel it is stricty followed. There is no famous hangout spots in college.

Other Applied Colleges

Thangal Kunju Musaliar Institute of Technology - [TKM] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electrical and Electronics Engineering)

Because mec provide better placement oppurtunities

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are highly volatile taking the stats from over the past three years there has been an up trend as well a down trend, I hope I will get placed through on campus interviews, the highest package of this year was for two graduates who got into IBM with 22 lakhs per aanum, there are few who didn't get into any of the companies while there were others who got int Amazon and other reputated companies, if I do not get into a reputed company through my college on campus placements the. I'll be aiming for higher educations most probably
