I have liked the campus very much as it is a small campus we can go anywhere quickly
There are various opportunities available for us especially if u join a club
We have strong like minded community that is really active and supportive

Dislikes

It's a very small campus compared to others
Building is a bit too old and lack of infrastructure
There isn't much sports opportunities well I can't complaint about that

Course Curriculum Overview

Since I was love with computer science ever since I was born I decided to take up this course and well I don't have any regrets till now. The curriculum is pretty bad though we can't achieve much skills from it. But it improved from previous curriculum. More project oriented

Placement Experience

The only good thing about this college is its placements. Model Engineering College is well known for its placement even competing with CET. We have an average of 6-8 LPA and highest package was 50CTC. 90% of students are placed mostly every year. I am planning to be a developer and gain experience and become an entrepreneur. We are eligible for placements from S5

Fees and Financial Aid

I am paying 65000 per year. I am in management seat. Merit seat have 35000 per year. There are lot of scholarships available especially for SC/ST where they have little to no fees. We had 10000 pta fees and 37000 tuition fees and the rest is distributed among various other facilities

Campus Life

Not gonna lie I thought my college life was gone when I saw the infrastructure but I have had a good college life till now. Lots of activities and all. We had a great community for every single thing. Our arts and Sports are really great. We have lots of charity works too.

Admission

Since Model Engineering College Thrikkakara is one of the top colleges of Kerala and it has a high placement history. I opted this college mainly because it's near where I live and has a good placement. I had applied to CET but didn't get it. The cutoffs this year was 1380 keam rank. It's really hard to get in this college.

Faculty

We don't have much faculty-to-student ratio as this is one of the top colleges so lot of students enrolled but IHRD don't have fund to facilitate everyone. We don't have fixed classrooms and we share labs with every department. Exams here are really tough and it's pretty hard to score marks

Night Life

The nightlife is excellent in MEC. we have lots of 24 hours cafe near our college. We have malls too like Lulu, Oberon etc. We have metro near to us in Edappally. Our college is situated in city so we have access to the best nightlife ever. Lots of shops to go to

Remarks:

Its very attractive College. But somehow a little bit strict. Have very good academics. Extra curriculum activities etc. College ambiance is very nice. Faculty members are very nice. Nice hostel and canteen.

Remarks:

Positive remarks is the college is autonomous because we are directly under the Cochin University of Science and Technology. So the CUSAT name plays a big role in whole Kerala. The certificate has a big value. In case of negative remarks, some works are not doing properly, like small maintenance work and all.

GOVT MODEL ENGINEERING COLLEGE REVIEW

The college that i applied other than model engineering college is CET trivandrum which is the best college under ktu in kerala . And the second is model engineering college. I would have got admission is any other colleges in kerala . I choose model engineering college because of its placements and academic progress. Good for social life but very minimal infrastructure and facilities

The reason I chose this college over other options were due to the prime location in which it is present and due to the city it is present in . MEC is renowned for the placement opportunities available in this college and is placed in the top 3 colleges in Kerala in terms of placemenets . The admission is based on the student's KEAM rank and this rank decides whether you get the Merit seat or management seat . For others you also have an NRI seat .
