Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum that I'm right now studying a new one , which is the 2024 schemes diffenrt from every other scheme, consisting of new subjects and even from higher semesters, the subjects seems to be unnecessary or boring, yet there are intersting ones, the curriculum remains the same until first year , after that each department enters intro heir core subjects and labs, yet following the same the 2024 scheme , the changes I felt necessary were the ones which included shifting subjects from semester five to semester three, and addition of new subjects, I find it extremely useful if APJ university had taken the liberty to add career guiding subjects and training along with the curriculum rather than providing it outside the curriculum

Placement Experience

5

Campus placements are highly volatile taking the stats from over the past three years there has been an up trend as well a down trend, I hope I will get placed through on campus interviews, the highest package of this year was for two graduates who got into IBM with 22 lakhs per aanum, there are few who didn't get into any of the companies while there were others who got int Amazon and other reputated companies, if I do not get into a reputed company through my college on campus placements the. I'll be aiming for higher educations most probably

Fees and Financial Aid

Choosing My College : I choose college of engineering Chengannur after considering top options across Kerala. My decision was based on reputation, affordability and strong placements stats. Especially in Computer science stream. The college has approachable faculty, lively campus culture and transparent admission process through KEAM, made it a logical option for me over others, where cutoffs were steeper or fees far higher. Admisson Experiemce : The admission process was straight forward beaded solely on KEAM entrance rank followed by centralized counseling with clear cutoff for each branch. I found the process efiicinent and less stressful, since there were no group discussions or interviews. Fees Structure and Scholarships: Yearly tution fee is around ?40000 for merit seats higher for management or NRI. Hostel costs ?39000 to ?42000 per year. Fees remain largely stable and multiple scholarships exist; Merit-cum-need AICTE , alumni, star and central schemes. Ensuring even first generation learners can focus on studies Since I got int this college under Management quota I am and will be paying a sum of ?75000 This amount typically covers most compulsory charges: Admission fee, registration fee, development fee and essential lab fee. At the beginning of first year the eus a one time caution deposit ?2000, other small charges like if card or university registration may apply. SC, ST students are exempted from tution fee and pay only small amount for registration/admission, thanks to state scholarships! While considering my batchmeates, our class is extremely diverse with those paying merit fees to even NRI fee.

Campus Life

5

There are numerous clubs and technical forums in our college, technical forums is the heart of our college, in a sence, I am proud to say that I am a part of a well reputed international forum of our college which is the IEEE forum, and I hold the position of WIC , which I got into through an interview, there are even higher positions, which can go Upto state level. While talking about other non technical clubs there comes our fashion club and design club, NSS , NCC and Sports, Arts clubs.

Admission

Firstly I had applied for numerous colleges ranking from college of engineering Trivandrum to Rajahiri college, even though my KEAM rank was around 13k I did not have the scope of getting into ourely government colleges, then was the possibility of going into IHRD colleges and least ranked government colleges and the private colleges, but studying for 12 years in a private college made me think otherwise, then I had the option of the IHRD and least cutoff ranked government colleges, during my first allotment I got intro this college but under electronics department later during the second allotment it changed to computer science department and same suring the third allotment, this college is about two hours away from my hometown, and reachable by train, the other factors were this college was highly recommended by my cousin aunt who is a professor in model engineering college Thrikkakara.

Faculty

5

Each class from each semester have their own class advisers to look upon their academics and handle their individual academic sheet, talking about the faculty each department has highly qualified and learned professors and tutors, capable of teaching the new changes in the syllabus and curriculum. The faculties that I did not enjoy the most were from semester two

Night Life

5

We are not permitted on a regular basis to be inside the college campus during the night time, unless there is an event or program being held in the college, also when theirs any sort of training for these programs, then we are supposed to be staying aback at the college, but on a regular day staying back at the college doesn't have any certain importance.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
