IP College for Women: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 16 Reviews

The admission process at DU is user-friendly, requiring an online form accessible via the DU website, followed by choosing colleges based on cut-off scores. The college boasts a highly qualified faculty, with notable figures from prestigious institutions and commendable experiences, such as collaborations with the World Bank. The economics department features a gold medalist, while the mathematics department had a distinguished teacher known for making complex topics simple. The faculty is among the best in Delhi University, fostering a strong educational environment.

Placement opportunities are robust, with a 95% success rate in securing positions annually with companies like Deloitte, EY, and D.E. Shaw. The highest annual package offered is up to 18 LPA, while the average package is 6-7 LPA. The placement cell, JEET, facilitates job and internship opportunities, particularly in the final year. Some graduates pursue further education or competitive exams, while others secure roles with monthly packages around 20-25 thousand.

Internship opportunities start from the first year, covering sectors like investment banking. The college enforces a strict 66% attendance policy, potentially complicating the balance between academics and internships. Tuition fees range from Rs. 24,000 to Rs. 27,000 annually, higher than other DU colleges, which charge around Rs. 19,000. An additional Rs. 500 per semester is charged for exams. Financial aid is available for eligible students, including scholarships for economically weaker sections and students with a family income below 8 LPA.

Despite the higher fees, the college offers decent placements and internship opportunities, although managing the attendance requirement alongside internships can be challenging.

I've paid rs. 29,120 in my first year, then in second year it was rs. 20,120 and in third year it will be rs. 20,120 too. There's not any category reservation in ipcw, du but yes there's financial aid for economic weaker section but there's some criteria for them they should be fulfilling attendance requirements and their previous score should be decent.

I have paid Rs. 30,000 for the 1st year, approx Rs. 20,000 for the 2nd year and will be paying Rs. 20,000 for the 3rd year. There is no lab charges in this course. The course fees is same for all the categories . The college provides the provision of getting relaxation in the fees for the students who fulfill the required criteria set by the University. It is the financial aid provided on the basis of the family income and the category.

the fees is same for all in economics hons. the quota of any kind doesn't affect it , at the time of admission i've paid the 30000(approx.) for 1st year and now for second year i've paid 27200 and in third year it might go down by a lil bit and all the charges are included in this but it just exam form fees which you have to pay every sem while filling your exam form and fees it near 1500 every sem (atleast for our course eco hons) core subject fees is of same amt to everyone it just sec,vac that make some changes by 100-200 nothing more than this, and some fees relaxtation program also took place in 1st year and a very few scholarships which is totally merit based.

Fees and Financial Aid:

When i joined IPCW for economics hons, one of the first thing that struck me and my parents was the college fees though it was high amongst other DU colleges but the fess structure was clear and transparent. The fees differ acc to the course you opt. For humanities courses it ranges from 20,000 to 23,000 where as commerce courses are charged a little more ariund 32,000-33,000, and Bsc. Courses are charged even more. I am currently in the second year, so i paid 29,000 in the first year which included 2k-3k as caution money, which is refundable at the end of the course, 5k as addmission fees, 4k as registration fees. There are two hostels in ipcw - Kalavati Gupta Hostel (in-campus) with non-AC rooms costing around 1,56,000 which includes boarding, lodging, mess, common facilities, and security deposit. The second is IP Hostel (outside campus) with AC rooms costing around 1,97,000. Scolarships such as Dr. Sadhana Chatarjee Memorial scholarship for eco students and Balraj Khillan Memorial Scolarship for english hons.

Fees and Financial Aid:

As a first-year student from the general category, I had to pay Rs. 29725 for a year, which is a bit high compared to other Delhi University colleges, as their fees is usually around seventeen to eighteen thousand. Students from the economically weaker sections are eligible to apply for the fee concessions, and Merit cum Means-based scholarships are provided to the students who are deserving. We have to fill out an examination form, where a minimal fee ranging from Rs.500 to Rs.1000 is charged. Overall, I will say that the course is affordable.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fee structure of BA Economics Honors at Indraprastha College for Women accounts for 29725 for a year. Since IPCW is a government college under DU, it's tuition fee is highly subsidised. It aptly justifies the infrastructure and facilities being provided to the students.

Fees and Financial Aid:

Fee structure depends on the course you have opted for. During the admission my fee was about 27000 including admission and tuition fee for the first year. In the second year it was about 20000 which I believe would be the same for third year. College provides internship but there is an issue with attendance. 66% attendance is mandatory to appear in the end semester exam which makes it difficult to manage both classes and internship. Job placement is there but the package is not very high. The highest package for my course is 6 lacs per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fees is quite low. It's around 27000, but still the fees for my college is much more than that of other colleges. Maybe because of the infrastructure. And coming to the scholarship part, I didn't enroll in one. Though I've seen my college helping people in need with free hostel facilities. But the college is strict if we want to work and grow. Or prepare for something huge. The college doesn't support that. The attendance issue is a big problem.

Fees and Financial Aid:

My fees structure was annually laid. It was 24,000 for one year. This is compartively higher than other DU colleges for no particular reasons. Scholarship is provided to the economically weaker students. Also, there is financial assistance given to students whose parents' income is less than 8 Lpa category wise (SC, ST etc). Campus placements and internships floated are pretty much decent.
