CUET 2026 exam will be conducted in May 2026. In a public notice published on December 4, 2025, the NTA released an advisory for candidates regarding the updation of the Aadhaar Card, UDID Card for PwD candidates, and Category Certificate for reserved category candidates. NTA will make the CUET application form 2026 available on the official website at cuet.nta.nic.in.

Based on the past year’s CUET UG dates, you can expect the CUET application form to be available from the 2nd week of February 2026 to the 2nd week of March 2026.
- In the year 2025, the CUET exam witnessed more than 13.4 lakh registrations and 11.6 lakh candidates who had appeared for the exam, according to the CUET 2025 result notice released by NTA.

What is CUET?
CUET exam is conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) for admission to UG programs like BA, BSc, BCom, BBA, BCA, BA LLB, and BTech/BE. As per last year's CUET Information Bulletin, the examination is conducted in 13 languages across the country for 37 subjects. Subjects for which CUET is conducted include 13 Languages, 23 Domain Subjects, and 1 Aptitude Test.
As of now, 250+ universities, 45 Central Universities (Delhi University, BHU, JNU, Allahabad University, AMU), 37 State Universities, 32 Deemed Universities, and 130+ Private Universities accept CUET scores.

CUET was first conducted as CUCET (Central Universities Common Entrance Test) in 2010 to offer admission to candidates in central universities across the country. In the beginning, CUET was conducted for 12 universities by the Central University of Rajasthan.
In 2021, NTA (National Testing Agency) took over CUCET and revamped it as CUET as a part of the National Education Policy 2020, and included 45 central universities and other institutions. The examination was first conducted as CUET in March 2022.

Ans. Starting from mid-February 2026, you can apply for CUET 2026 if you are interested in the undergraduate exam. The application period will likely close in March 2026.

Ques. Can I fill a CUET form without a 12th marksheet?
Ans. Yes, you can fill out the CUET application form even if you do not have your Class 12 marksheet. This is because candidates appearing for their Class 12 exams or those with pending results can apply for the exam.
- You can either leave the marks section blank or fill in details like - Not Applicable
- However, you will require the Class 12 marksheet for admission into universities later.
Ques. How many documents are required for a CUET form?
Ans. For a CUET form, you require a valid ID proof along with your Class 10th and 12th mark sheets.

How many Candidates have registered for CUET? ( 2025-2023)
NTA releases the number of candidates registered and appeared for CUET every year at the time of releasing the CUET results. CUET registration statistics released by NTA in past years are discussed below.
- In 2023, 14.99 lakh candidates had registered, out of which 11.16 lakh appeared for the exam.
- In the next year, 13.48 lakh candidates registered, out of which 11.4 lakh appeared for the exam.
- In 2025 it is expected that 13.4 lakh candidates registered, out of which about 10.71lakh appeared for the exam.

Ans. The number of students who apply for CUET varies each year, and there is no fixed number.
- In 2024, a total of 1499790 candidates registered for the exam
- The number of students appearing for the CUET exam is on the rise.

Ans. In the CUET UG 2025, just one candidate achieved a perfect score in four subjects. But 17 candidates were able to score 100 percentile in three subjects.

CUET exam pattern 2026 is similar for each test paper. According to NTA CUET information bulletin, there will be 50 questions asked in each CUET test paper. All questions in each test paper are compulsory. You will have 60 minutes to solve 50 questions in each test paper.

Major Changes in CUET UG 2025
In past years, CUET UG has undergone various changes, including a reduction in the number of available subjects, a change from paper-based to CBT mode, the removal of optional questions, etc.
- You can apply for any subject paper in CUET regardless of your Class 12 subjects.
- You will be required to appear for CUET UG in CBT mode.
- Number of available subjects that you can choose from has been reduced from 63 to 37.
- Entrepreneurship, Teaching Aptitude, and Legal Studies subjects have been removed from the CUET UG subject list. For removed subjects, admissions will be based on General Aptitude Test scores.
- You will be given a maximum of 60 minutes for each paper.
