CUET 2026 Session-wise Answer Key PDF

The provisional answer key is released by NTA in the form of subject-wise PDFs. Pair every Option ID on your response sheet with the same Option ID on the answer key for the same Question ID to determine whether the answer is correct.

The provisional answer key is open to objection until 11 June 2026 — the final answer key may differ if NTA accepts any challenge.

The raw score per subject is computed as:

Raw Score = (Correct Answers × 5) − (Incorrect Answers × 1)

Worked Example

Suppose you appeared for the Chemistry domain paper with 50 questions and your response sheet shows:

• 40 questions answered correctly → 40 × 5 = 200 marks
• 7 questions answered incorrectly → 7 × 1 = 7 marks deducted
• 3 questions unattempted → 0 marks

Expected raw score in Chemistry = 200 − 7 = 193 out of 250.

Repeat this calculation for every subject you appeared in. NTA later normalises raw marks across shifts into a percentile, which is what universities use for CSAS and other admissions.

CUET 2026 Score vs Percentile

The CUET percentile is calculated using the equipercentile method on your raw scores. The exact mapping changes every year based on the difficulty of each shift, but historic patterns give you a realistic estimation band.

A raw score above 200 in a single subject is typically enough for top central universities in their respective domain cutoffs.

How to Challenge CUET 2026 Response Sheet and Answer Key

If your response sheet shows an answer you did not mark, or if you spot a wrong key in the provisional answer key, you can raise an objection through the official portal. NTA reviewed all CUET UG 2026 objections during 9–11 June 2026, and the window has now closed.

Steps to Challenge an Answer Key Question

• Step 1: Log in to cuet.nta.nic.in using your CUET 2026 credentials.
• Step 2: Click on "Challenge Answer Key" inside the candidate dashboard.
• Step 3: Select the Question ID you want to dispute and the correct Option ID per your interpretation.
• Step 4: Upload supporting documents — NCERT references, textbook scans, or syllabus extracts — in PDF form.
• Step 5: Pay the non-refundable challenge fee through net banking, UPI, or credit/debit card.
• Step 6: Save the payment receipt; this is your only proof of submission.

If a challenge is accepted by the subject experts, the answer key is corrected for every student — not just the one who raised it.

If Your Recorded Answer Is Wrong

Where your response sheet itself records an option you did not mark, you must email the NTA helpdesk at cuet-ug@nta.ac.in with your application number, the affected question ID, and a clear statement. NTA reviews such grievances on a case-by-case basis based on server logs from the test centre.

Students often confuse the response sheet and the answer key because they are released together. The two documents serve different purposes and must be used together to calculate your CUET score.
