CUET UG 2025 Good Score
A Good CUET UG 2025 varies with the course, university, and type of candidate.
Because CUET is out of 1250 (typically 250 for each subject for 5 subjects), top universities such as DU, BHU, JNU, and so on usually expect 650+ from General category students in competitive courses such as B.Com, B.A.(Hons), and B.Sc. A higher score gives more chances of CUET UG Seat allotment in the initial rounds.
- More than 65% of the students who scored 600–650 got seats in the first two rounds of counselling as per the previous years.
- Top DU colleges witnessed cut-offs increase to 735+ for the General category from 720 in CUET 2023.
- More than 30% of reserved category seats were occupied by candidates who scored between 500–600 in Round 1.
Score Range | Admission Possibility | Suitable For |
---|---|---|
700 – 800 | Excellent score with high chances in top colleges | DU (SRCC, Hindu), JNU, BHU (Honours programs) |
600 – 699 | Very Good Score with chances in mid to top programs | Top state universities, mid-tier DU colleges |
500 – 599 | Moderate Score with average program options. | Non-core programs in central/state universities |
400 – 499 | Below Average score with limited options | Low-demand programs or private universities |
< 400 | A low score will not get top universities | Spot round/private college options only |
Is 400 a good score in CUET?
A score of 400 in CUET UG is below average. Although it might not be sufficient for the best central universities, candidates can manage to get admissions in less competitive courses or private/state universities, particularly under reserved categories.
CUET UG 2025 Marks Vs Ranks
The CUET UG 2025 seat allotment will be based on the relationship between a candidate's score and AIR. Although CUET has a normalized score system, past year trends are used to estimate how marks equate with ranks, particularly in popular courses such as B.A., B.Com, and b.sc.
- Above 1150 was usually the cut-off that guaranteed entry to premier DU colleges in B.Com and B.A. (Hons).
- Backward class students obtaining 850–950 marks got high-demand courses with easy cut-offs.
- Applicants with scores 600–700 generally qualified for non-core courses or state/private universities.
- Humanities combinations saw marginally higher cut-offs compared to Commerce because of higher competition at DU.
