Remarks

The admission process was pretty smooth and there was no any challenges faced by me. The entire admission process took in online format, only in the last day for the verification of documents purpose, we had to visit college. There was seniors assigned for our help and also other faculties for addressing our doubts and making the entire admission process smooth. The cut off for admission to the college was greater than 90% for most sought after courses, others ranged between 85-90% but not less than that for the good courses. There was no any age limit for taking admission to the college as far as I remember. On an overall basis, the entire admission process was really smooth and with no long waiting time.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose Economics Hons for the sole reason that it is the most sought after course in University of Delhi and also has greater scope after graduation. I also consulted my seniors for choosing the course. Taking guidance from seniors proves a lot helpful. All the professors and teachers at the college are well qualified and are chosen after vigorous selection processes. The teachers are really supporting and are excellent teachers in terms of imparting knowledge. There is an average of 1 professor for a class of 60 students. Also, ther are tutorial periods too where the entire class is divided into a number of groups and we can have our doubts cleared properly in that time. There are semester exams conducted twice a year along with two internal assesments in the form of either assignment or class test, generally of 25 marks. Also, there are marks for attendance too, maximum marks is 5 if you have 85% attendance.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Internship Opportunites offered to the college are pretty decent. There are both paid as well as unpaid internships floated by the internship and placements cell to hone your skills. The profiles of the internships ranges from investment banking to managerial roles etc. Few companies which offer internships are: Zomato Feeding India, Eat My News, Opulence Business Solutions Private Limited etc.

Placement Experience

3.5

Ther are decent placement opportunities offered to the college students. Companies like EY, D.E Shaw, Eat my News, Deloitte etc visit the campus and take students from here. The highest package can go upto 18lpa and average ranges between 6-7 lpa. Major plans that students take up after graduation from BA Economics are going for Masters, MBA etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

My fees structure was annually laid. It was 24,000 for one year. This is compartively higher than other DU colleges for no particular reasons. Scholarship is provided to the economically weaker students. Also, there is financial assistance given to students whose parents' income is less than 8 Lpa category wise (SC, ST etc). Campus placements and internships floated are pretty much decent.

Campus Life

4

The annual fest for our college is 'SHRUTI'. It showcases some of the India's best glamorous personalities. All of us have the best possible time during the fest days. The library of the college is one of the best in all the DU colleges. It's a multi floored building with books and novels of all the genres. Classrooms are well lit and well-ventilated. There are enough sports facilities available to the students of the college. We also have a swimming pool in the college, and also a gym for work out sessions which operates on time shifts basis. There are clubs too as a part of extra curricular activities, few of them are- Dramatics Society, Project RISE, NSS, Poetry and Elocution Club, Afroza (the western dance society), Alaap (the Indian Music Society) and what not. The college has all the nices extra curricular range of activities for a student to take part in.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is something that can have improvements. For example I am studying C++ in my computer minor class which is becoming less and less relavent as compared to a lamguage like python. Alot of job prospects require students to know a language like R so I feel things like that should be taught so that the course cam make a student more real world ready.

My course is on a difficult side . There are subjects like statistics and maths which are too practical and hard . But this opens my mind towards practical approaches. Moreover the demand for this course is much more then its related courses like bcom and bba.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course requires a lot of analytical and logical thinking. The scope is quite wide in my course without having any professional degree too like research, analytics, finance manager etc. This course gives opportunity to gain applied skills and as we are dealing with quantitaive aspects our statistics also gets better with time. Few improvements which i would like suggest are that their should more practical and real life knowledge, currently it is very theoritically heavy. Teaching online softwares must be compulsoury so that we remain updated with technology.

Placements of my college are pretty good. The placement cell of my college is pretty active and facilitataes the placement process. Companies like Deloitte, EY and PWC often come to our college for placements with the average package being Rs. 8,00,000. After getting this degree, i will pursure another degree in MBA or I might also take a part in the placement process and pursue an MBA later. Students in semester 6 and further can take part in the placement process but there are internship fairs and summer internship programmes for students who are not eligible for placements

I have a keen interest in pursuing in Economics field as a career and hence my degree perfectly aligns with my career goals The curriculum is not very effective when we talk aboht the real world exposure however it is very good for further academic pursuits The curriculum could be a bit more practical based where we get exposure to the real industry as well. The exams are held twice in an year. The difficulty level is moderate
