IP College for Women Faculties : Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 154 Reviews

The faculty at the college is highly qualified and experienced, with many members holding PhDs and significant expertise in their fields. The Commerce faculty is particularly renowned for its experience and knowledge. The faculty-to-student ratio varies, with one teacher for every 55-60 students in general lectures, and more personalized attention during tutorials. Faculty members are approachable, helpful, and provide individual attention, with many extending support outside class hours. They employ diverse teaching methods, including handwritten notes and presentations.

The college encourages self-study, as spoon-feeding is not practiced. Faculty is supportive, organizing seminars, and providing guidance for research and future planning. The institution boasts a competitive academic environment, with continuous assessments and a focus on practical and real-life applications. While some issues with faculty interaction and teaching quality exist, overall, the faculty is considered one of the best in the university, contributing significantly to the students' academic and personal development.

Student Snaps:

Faculty:

As i said faculty members are goal oriented so yes they focus mainly on academics and they personally helpful when asked some personal life doubts they are open to have conversation. But senior teachers are not that interactive towards students they come and complete their syallabus which feels like its just their duty to do so. The student teacher ratio is 1:70. Economic hons. course is very rigrous. Ranging from three core subjects which depends on which semester you are in and apart from that students are also responsible to give SEC, AEC, VAC, GEC/DSE exams which are assessed in the exams. We have two IA (Internal assessment) in a semester which is of 12+12(tests) and 6 marks attendance making total 30 marks of IA. There are two CA (continous assessment) of 35 marks (quiz, assignments, tests, group disscussion etc) and 5 marks attendance. The faculties i like are from sem 1 Pratistha Chaturvedi and Sharvasti Soni ma'am. They were very relaxed and i loved the way they use to teach us maths and micro. The faculty members i didnt like are the ones who just come to teach for an hour and doesnt care about us. These are mostly senior teachers.

Faculty:

The faculty is very good at teaching and is approachable (one or two exceptions are everywhere). They will clear your doubts, and you will be able to understand the concepts well. At times, you will feel like the syllabus is being rushed, but that is because the syllabus is vast and the time is very less. We have end-of-semester exams in November-December for odd semesters and May for even semesters, 90 marks for theory, and 70 marks for the Internal Assessment for the discipline-specific core (DSC).

The faculty at Indraprastha College for Women, are quite supportive, and student- friendly. The professors are highly qualified, having studied from top institutions of India like SRCC, LSR and DSE. Most of the faculties have a pretty decent teaching style, exceptions being there. In case of any doubts, the faculty can be easily approched for doubt- clearing, during the Tutorial Classes. Also, the college has the dedicated mentor- mentee groups to provide help to the students whenever needed.

Faculty:

The faculty student ratio is not good after Nep has been introduced. There are large no. Of students and only few teachers. For my course, in third year, the class strength is 88, so teacher student ratio is 1:88. The old faculty is the best faculty of my department, they are well trained and experts in their field, but the new recruitments are very poor, and have poor teaching skills. There is one end sem exam as per Delhi university guidelines and the difficulty level is average.

Faculty:

The teaching faculty is really supportive and guides us through different academic disruptions that we face in college. Their method of teaching is really appreciable as they not only focus on textbook knowledge but also concerned about providing valuable insights for its practical and real life application. My course which is psychology with hdfe requires a more comprehensive understanding which the teachers hands down provide.

We have like 30:1 of teachers students i think. Faculty is very friendly and understanding. They are approachable. I like English faculty the most because they teach very good and they are more friendly than others. There are 7 exams that I gave this semester and all were quite easy and I don't get the results so yet i don't know that marking system. In class tests some teachers give good marks but some are really bad at it.

The favulty members are quiet great. All the teachers are very well educated, have done their Phd or are doing. All of them are very helpful. The ratio is also good. I can tell about my department, ie the Commerce department. The HOD is helpful, the subject teachers are helpful and they are very experienced. I am very satisfied with the faculty members. There are mainly semester end exams and internals. In internals there are 2 parts namely IA and CA - internal assessment and fontinuos assessment. It depends on teachers how they take it but mainly they are in kind of tests, presentations, group work etc.
