NIT Delhi has released its latest placement report on its official website. As per the 2025 report, the highest package offered is INR 58.5 LPA, average package offered was INR 16.81 LPA. A total of 417 offers were made to the students of the B.Tech and M.Tech programs. Some of the top core companies, like Google, Amazon, Oracle, Rapido, and others, visited the placement drive of 2025. The highest number of PSU and core sector companies have made it to the placements as well.

With an overall placement rate of 86.2%, the B.Tech department of NIT Delhi secured the highest number of placements in 2025. But the M.Tech department has made significant improvements as well, with a 65.35% placement rate. Within the 175 eligible students, 151 students secured placements with an average package of INR 16.81 LPA.

The annual placements at NIT Delhi are consistently getting better year by year where the top branches such as CSE, ECE, and IT are leading the way with their strong placement rates. Mnc companies such as gold sachs, Amazon, Flipkart, etc. In electrical engineering the highest given this year is 82 lakh and the average package is of 10- 12 lakh . Around 80 - 90 percent got placement and remaining 10 percent are those who want to pursue higher education. I want to pursue higher education and get specialised in my degree. Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for the campus placements from 3rd year itself, so most probably from 6th sem they can participate in placement drives. You will get internship and it is quite essential for you to get a full time job opportunity. In the 8th sem it is compulsory to do internship as it is the only criteria for getting pass in the 8th sem. Many companies like Wipro, Microsoft and other Japan based companies have been hiring in our college The highest package of our college is 88lpa(off campus) and a 66lpa(on campus) surprisingly both are achieved by EEE students. The average package is around 12-14 lpa including all the branches. Almost 80% of the students are getting placed My plans after this degree is either to do a great job or to further study mtech if possible (only in IIT)

My friend is currently a student at NIT Delhi and as per her, NIT Delhi has an outstanding placement scenario. The highest package recorded for the year 2022 was INR 82.63 lacs which is the highest among other NITs. Surprisingly enough, this package was bagged by a student of EEE department and not the CSE department. Although, the institute did not release official placement statistics, the branch-wise average packages are

CSE: INR 18–20 lacs
ECE: INR 15–18 lacs
EEE: INR 15–18 lacs

Based on the NIT Delhi NIRF report 2023, the median package offered during NIT Delhi BTech and MTech placements 2022 stood at INR 14.75 LPA and INR 15 LPA, respectively. Out of 163 students, a total of 142 students were placed in the Btech batch whereas 33 out of 56 students were placed in the MTech batch.

Truth be told, NIT Delhi is mainly known for its BTech program only and its MTech program is relatively new so it lacks credibility. The faculty of M.Tech. CSE is well qualified but has little or no practical experience and the computer labs have limited access to software. Although the overall environment is conducive to studying, academics at NIT Delhi are more of a personal affair. You will have to rely on your own and not on the professors for studies. The college provides the resources necessary for your thesis and project work but you have to work alone. You will also be required to do some lab work because the MTech students are also the lab assistants of juniors, instructing them how to deal with different software languages or software.

M.Tech CSE students of NIT Delhi usually receive offers from IT companies, mostly coding. However, most IT companies don’t allow Mtech students to sit for placements. Only a few allow Mtech CSE students to sit for Pre Placement Talk (PPT) and placement tests. But the M.Tech. students are almost offered the same role and packages as B.Tech. graduate in the same company. Overall, the placement scenario isn't very great, but most students end up with a decent job.

If you are planning to get into the Power Sector, you will have to prepare for the competitive exams. But if your goal is to just get placed even if it’s an IT company, then as long as you have a decent GPA and basic coding skills, you are likely to grab a good offer. That being said, one must consider bigger criteria when choosing college rather than just placements. In 2021 NIT Delhi EEE average package was recorded at INR 8.1 LPA.

Unfortunately, NIT delhi doesn’t offer MCA course to the students. However, there are other colleges like NIT Trichy, NIT Surathkal, NIT Kurukshetra, NIT Calicut, NIT Warangal, NIT Raipur which offer it based on NIMCET exam with highest package of INR 50 lpa.
