NIT Delhi: A Balanced Blend of Academics, Opportunities, and Campus Life

Sports facilities are very good, and ground is well maintained

Admission:

I decided to go to NIT Delhi mainly for its prestige, NIT status, the variety of branches and the surrounding area of Delhi NCR that is more open to exposure and internships. Apart from that, I had also filled out the application forms of NIT Srinagar, IIIT Una, and DTU Delhi. I was given the go-ahead to take Mechanical at NIT Srinagar and the branch of IT at IIIT Una, but I still voted for NIT Delhi because of the strong preference of the branch, better placements, and that it is not far away from my house. I was unable to access the top NITs like Trichy or Surathkal because my JEE Main rank was a little under their cutoff points. Admission at NIT Delhi is through JEE Main and JoSAA counselling. The steps include document verification and fee submission. The procedure is transparent and without any hassle, and NIT Delhi was the best choice that struck the perfect balance between academics, opportunities, and ROI.

Likes

Educational support is good in nit delhi
Classroom are very good at college Nit Delhi
Sports are very good and there are many tournaments.

Dislikes

Mess food is worst and non veg is not avail
College is still in developing and need more space.

Admission:

I applied other colleges but this college is much better than them through NIRF ranking, study, college placements etc. I chose National institute of technology delhi because it is in the capital city of india and it is developing city that's why I can get more opportunities to give interviews

Likes

College staff is absolutely amazing . And college have great ambiance that is impressive and no other Nits are as good as our college
We have many clubs that attracts many students and many events are conducted periodically
Many sports and available for students to play and even many sports events are conducted

Dislikes

Food is not that good it’s most required thing in a college after many complaints they never changed the cooks and mess facility is worst

Admission:

I've chosen this college according to Placement rate and I specifically selected this college because it offers a strong electronics department, good lab facilities and exposure to industry tools like cadence and synopsys , which are essential for VLSI learning

Likes

Class rooms and professors were some what polite and they teach very well
Many of the companies visit here and we can get job easily if you are just lightly focussed
Study curriculum was very good and it is very comfortable for student

Dislikes

Food here is some what bad and there will be no non veg in mess and even in shops in nit
Laundry issues are there in hostel for washing clothes u have move half kilometre
Electrical gadgets were not allow like kettle heater .... As there are must in Delhi in winter season

Admission:

I have taken admission in my college through JoSAA. There is no rejection in JoSAA; if a college is not allotted, it simply means the seat was not allocated in JoSAA counselling, but it can still be allotted in CSAB counselling. According to academics, this college is very good, but the infrastructure is still under construction. By next year, it will be almost complete, and in the next phase the college will be fully developed.

The facilities in classes are not up to the mark

The college is under a lot of construction

Admission:

I applied for other IITs as well of course I my rank wasn't that high that I could apply for that and also I applied for IIST and other GFTIs as well as well as other NITs but I couldn't get them due to alower rank but I left PEC CSE for NITD ECE

My side story of my college

Likes

The senior junior interaction is really great they guide you in every possible way.
College encouragement in sports activities , we have international standard field, gym, and we have trainer for every sports activities
Classrooms are air conditioned, study environments is great and college support start up and promotes inventions

Dislikes

The college is still in construction it is still getting better , so you could find the place covered in dust.
Mess could improve having only veg served and the taste is not at all good.
You have to walk a lot in the campus 57 acr .

Admission:

Being in core of delhi and its scope of improvement competing with iits and iiits this college has made its debut scoring 45 nirf , and speaking about the college I got it to is not allahabad and iiitdm Jabalpur, comparing to these colleges the average haring salary is 16 lpa which is great and exposure is great , the admission process is through jossa and csab .

Likes

The professors in my college are very supportive
There is many opportunities in every field of engineering
No crowded place professors support in projects and guides you to get better placement

Dislikes

Hostel management are very low lack of room for home state students
Due to construction dust is flowing around

I applied to delhi technical university for btech and b architecture and I got seat in b architecture but their fee are very high and that course is 5 year course I didnot accept it and I also got seat in Ai in indraprastha university

Life in a developing college

Likes

The first thing that I liked about my college is that seniors in my college, not all but are friendly and they don't have that mindset of pure ragging.

Dislikes

The main negative thing about my college is that as it has been newly built so the infrastructure is not great.

Admission:

The admission process is similar to other colleges (the iits and the nits) and its quite simple not a big deal but as this college is in delhi the capital of India that's probably a reason of me taking admission in it.

the canteens are quite affordable and available all the time
proffesors are very much friendly with us
seniors are very helpful and kind , they help us a lot

the food service in the mess is not good
the time table is very teight and we do not get time for playing

Here are some details regarding B.Tech admissions through defense HS quota-

Admissions through defense quota depend on your priority category:

Till 5th priority category - Confirmed admission with any AIR.
6th priority category - Admission depends on other applicants’ rank.
7th priority category - No chance in the general defense category.

NSUT Round 5 cutoff for general defense category Delhi students (JEE Mains 2023) is given below-

How many marks are required for the NIT Delhi for general category?

To get admission to NIT Delhi one needs to appear for the JEE (Main) exam and also secure at least 75% marks in Class XII or be within the category-wise top 20 percentile in his/her respective Class XII board examination. Admissions to NIT Delhi are based on your rank in JEE (Main) through JoSAA Counseling and CSAB Special Round.

For the year 2023, the NIT Delhi GATE cutoff was

General: 367-574 marks
SC: 257-420 marks
ST: 232-311 marks
OBC: 330-512 marks

Can I get any branch in NIT Goa, Jaipur, or Delhi if my JEE Mains rank is 180k (I am in the general category)?

It's nearly impossible to get any branch in any of the colleges mentioned above. The colleges mentioned above are all NITs in particular NIT Goa, NIT Jaipur, and NIT Delhi.

None of the NITs open admission for the rank of around 180k so it would be better if you should prepare well and appear for the exam in the next year or take admission in any private college. There's no chance that any NIT would offer admission for 180k rank.

As per the analysis of the previous year cutoff of the NIT Delhi for JEE Mains, you can et admission with the minimum 15598 rank. Candidates having passed 10+2 Examination from any State or Central Board of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent, in Science Stream (PCM), with at least 75% marks (65% for SC/ ST). Candidates appearing for the 10+2 examination are also eligible. The candidates need to appear for JEE Mains and have a valid score, and attend the JoSAA Counselling. Candidates must visit the college website for the detailed admission process and fee structure
