The Registration process for NIMCET 2026 has started from March 3, 2026. The last date to fill the NIMCET 2026 application form is May 1, 2026. NIMCET will be conducted on 6 June, 2026.

Some of the institutes participating in NIMCET 2026 include NIT Agartala, MNNIT Allahabad, MANIT Bhopal, NIT Patna, etc. To be eligible for NIMCET 2026, students must have completed a minimum 3 year graduation course or BE/B.Tech with 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10 scale.

  • As per the NIMCET test pattern 2026, there will be a total of 120 questions asked from sections including Mathematics, Analytical ability & Logical Reasoning, Computer Awareness, and General english.
  • Students can score a maximum of 1000 marks in NIMCET 2026 paper.

Approx 25,000 students compete for 1003 seats in 11 NITs. 620+ marks is considered to be a good score for admission to top institutes like NIT Agartala, NIT Raipur, etc. As per the NIMCET cut off analysis, with 500+ marks, you may get into NIT Jamsedpur, NIT Kurushetra, etc.

How to Register for NIMCET 2026?

NIMCET 2026 Admit Card

The Admit card for NIMCET 2026 is scheduled to be released on May 27, 2026. Download NIMCET admit card 2026 and verify the basic details like name, photo, and signature. In case there is any difficulty/ problem in downloading NIMCET Admit Card, you should send an e-mail to secretary.nimcet2024@nimcet.in or secretary.nimcet2024@nitk.edu.in.

As per the pattern, NIMCET total marks are 1000 for 120 MCQs. The question paper is divided into the following three parts- Mathematics, Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning and Computer Awareness and General English.

Each part or section has a sectional time limit and no extra time would be given to complete the test. In addition, candidates cannot shuffle between sections, they must complete the test within the allotted time. The medium to answer the questions is English. The duration of each part has been provided below:

  • Part I: To complete 50 questions in Mathematics, you will be given 70 minutes
  • Part II: In Analytical and Logical Reasoning, there is 30 minutes for 40 questions
  • Part III: 20 minutes is allotted for General Awareness (10 questions) and English (10 questions).

NIMCET Marks Distribution

NIMCET marks distribution among the three parts are provided below. Note that there is a negative marking in each of the three parts.

  • In Mathematics, for each correct answer, there is 12 marks and on every wrong response, 3 marks will be deducted.
  • In Analytical and Logical Reasoning, each question carries 6 marks and there is a negative marking of 1.5 marks
  • In Computer Awareness, per question has 6 marks and in General English, each question carries 4 marks.

NIMCET 2026 Result and Counselling

NIMCET 2026 Result will be declared online on 29 June, 2026. Candidates are ranked based on their performances in NIMCET exam. Candidates can download their rank card/scorecard from the official website – nimcet.admissions.nic.in.

Based on the marks obtained by all candidates in the entrance exam, a merit/rank list will be prepared by the concerned authorities.

In case two or more candidates secure the same NIMCET 2026 Score, the following criteria will be followed to rank the candidates:

  1. Candidate scoring more marks in Mathematics will be ranked higher.
  2. Candidate scoring more in Analytical Ability & Logical reasoning will be ranked higher.
  3. Candidate scoring more in Computer Awareness will be ranked higher.
  4. If the tie is not resolved by the above criteria, then age will be considered i.e. older candidates will be ranked higher.

NIMCET 2026 Answer Key

NIMCET provisional answer key 2026 is released in order for candidates to challenge if not satisfied with the answers. To raise objection for any question, you need to pay INR 500 per question.

Ques. Is NIMCET Maths of JEE Level?

Ans. No, NIMCET Maths questions are not of JEE Main level. But you need to cover the NCERT class 12 Maths thoroughly to be able to solve any type of questions.
