NIMCET syllabus 2024 consists of four subjects: Mathematics, Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning, Computer Awareness and General English. It is a single-paper exam. NIMCET syllabus 2024 is based on CBSE Class 9 and Class 10.
A total of 120 multiple-choice questions will be there in NIMCET 2024. The total marks for NIMCET 2024 is 1000 marks. The duration of the exam is two hours. The highest mark awarded in NIMCET exam for each correct answer is 12 marks and the highest mark deducted for each wrong answer is 3 marks.
The marks division for each subject is:
- In Mathematics a total of 50 questions will be asked. Each question carries 12 marks. 3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- In Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning, 40 questions will be asked in total. Each question carries 3 marks. 1.5 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- In the case of Computer Awareness, a total of 20 questions will be asked. Each question carries 6 marks and 1.5 as negative marks.
- Finally, in General English, 10 questions will be there 4 marks for each correct answer and 1 mark for each wrong answer.
NIMCET exam is organized by the National Institute of Technology (NITs) on a rotational basis. It is a national-level entrance exam, conducted for admission to MCA courses at 11 different NIT’s. NIMCET Registration 2024 is expected to begin in the 1st week of March 2024 and candidates can apply until 4th week of April, 2024.

As we know, the question paper has questions based on mathematics, computer awareness, general English, analytical ability and logical reasoning. The section of mathematics contains the highest number of questions whereas computer awareness contains the lowest.

NIMCET 2024 Exam Pattern for Mathematics: The section of mathematics examines the basic mathematical understanding of the candidates in the exam. This section contains 50 number of questions carrying 200 marks. This is the most important section having the highest number of questions and marks.
NIMCET 2024 Exam Pattern for General English: The section of general English checks the basic understanding of language and grammar of the candidates through exam. There are 20 questions from this section carrying 80 marks.
NIMCET 2024 Exam Pattern for Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning: The section of General Ability and Reasoning examines the thinking skills, non-verbal skills and logical analytics of the candidates in exam. The section contains 20 questions carrying 80 marks.
NIMCET 2024 Exam Patter for Computer Awareness: This section checks the basic understanding of computer awareness in the exam. The lowest number of question comes from this section i.e. 10 carrying 40 marks. This section is comparatively easy than the other sections.

The syllabus of mathematics is larger than the syllabus of other subjects. Mathematics is an important subject which contains the highest number of questions and marks.

Important Instructions for the Exam Day
- Candidate should reach the exam center 1 hour prior than the commencement of exam
- It is compulsory to bring NIMCET admit card, without the admit card entry would be prohibited.
- No electronic item is allowed in the examination hall which is considered as the subject of cheating.
- No extra rough sheet is allowed in the examination hall. Margin will be given to do rough work in the test booklet.
- Fill the required details in the answer sheet. The result may not be evaluated if the details are not entered or entered correctly.
- It is not allowed to clarify doubts on any item in test booklet from the invigilator.
- Answer should be marked properly by darkening the circle in the OMR sheet.
- Failure to follow instruction written in the examination will lead to disqualification.
- It is necessary to use black/ blue ball point pen for shading the bubbles
