NIMCET 2026

The official notification for NIMCET 2026 has been released. This national-level entrance examination is the gateway for admission into the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program offered by 11 NITs and 2 IIITs across India. The examination is scheduled to be held on June 6, 2026. Eligible candidates are encouraged to prepare their documents and stay updated with the application timeline.

The NIMCET 2026 exam provides admission to the MCA (Master of Computer Applications) program for the academic session 2026-27 at participating institutes, including NIT Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Delhi, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Meghalaya, Patna, Raipur, Tiruchirappalli, Warangal, and IIITs at Bhopal and Vadodara.

Applicants belonging to the General, OPEN-EWS, and OBC categories are required to pay ₹2,500, while candidates from the SC, ST, and PwD categories must pay a reduced fee of ₹1,250. This payment must be made exclusively through the online portal using digital methods such as Net-banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI before the final submission of the application form.

NIMCET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for NIMCET 2026, a candidate must meet the following:

  • Nationality: Must be an Indian National.
  • Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc. / B.Sc. Hons / BCA / BIT) of minimum 3 years with Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects OR a B.E. / B.Tech degree from a recognized university.
  • Minimum Marks: At least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (for General/OBC) and 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA (for SC/ST/PwD).
  • Final Year Students: Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam are also eligible to apply provisionally.

NIMCET 2026 Selection Process

The selection is strictly based on the Rank obtained in the NIMCET-2026 entrance test. The process includes:

  1. Entrance Test: A Computer Based Test (CBT) consisting of 120 MCQs.
  2. Counseling: Online registration and choice filling for participating NITs based on rank.
  3. Seat Allotment: Distribution of seats across multiple rounds.
  4. Document Verification: Physical reporting at the allotted institute for final admission.

Candidates should keep scanned copies of the following ready:

  • Recent Passport Size Photograph (50 KB – 1 MB).
  • Signature in Royal Blue/Black ink (50 KB – 1 MB).
  • Class 10th Marksheet/Certificate (Proof of Date of Birth).
  • Class 12th Marksheet.
  • All Semester/Year Graduation Marksheets.
  • Category/Caste Certificate (if applicable).
  • Identity Proof (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, etc.).
