What is the CUET PG Exam?

Central Universities Entrance Test Postgraduate or CUET PG exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to various PG courses, like MSc, MA, MCA, MTech, MBA, MCom, M.Ed, etc. The admissions are offered by around 191 participating universities across the country, based on the past year’s data. These include 41 central universities, 41 state government universities, 15 government institutions, and 94 other (private/deemed) universities.

CUET PG was first conducted in 2022, and every year, more than 6,50,000 candidates register for the examination. Last year, 6,54,019 candidates registered for the exam, and out of these, 5,23,032 candidates appeared for the examination.

The NTA has released the CUET PG 2026 Application form in December, and the exam is expected to be conducted in March in different shifts.

CUET PG Registration Fees

CUET PG 2026 registration fee is non-refundable and obligatory, and is different as per a candidate's category, as well as the number of test papers for which candidates are registering.

  • General candidates will have to pay ₹ 1400 for up to 2 test papers, and they can opt for up to 4 test papers, paying an additional amount of ₹700 per paper.
  • The OBC and EWS category candidates have to pay ₹1200 for up to 2 test papers, and must pay extra fees of ₹ 600 per paper for extra papers.
  • SC/ST/third gender applicants have to pay ₹1100 for a maximum of 2 test papers and ₹ 600 for one more test paper.
  • PwBD candidates must pay a fee of ₹ 1000 for a maximum of 2 papers of the test, and must also pay an additional amount of ₹ 600 per paper.

CUET PG Registration Statistics

NTA releases the registration statistics for CUET PG after releasing the CUET PG results. As per the last year CUET PG registration statistics, a total of 6,54,019 candidates registered for CUET PG exam.

  • Out of the total CUET PG registered candidates, 2,60,012 candidates were from general category, 2,14,700 were from OBC category, 73,505 from SC category, 57,518 from ST category, and 48,284 from EWS category.

CUET PG 2026: Expected Cutoff
