- All the big brands and big tech giants come to the campus for great opportunity opportunity for students you can apply for placements from the fifth semester itself.
- College provides a lot of scholarships like merit cum means scholarship, inspire scholarship, and fee waiver scheme.
Dislikes
- But, if we talk about scholarship then it's a bad news that there is no institute scholarship for unreserved students but u can get it for other organisations like nsp.
- The hostel rooms are also not good enough and lack cleanliness sometimes and have broken chairs/ tables, etc. at times.

Placement Experience:
If you have opted for a 4 year B.Tech. course the placement season commences in your 7th semester and if you opted for a 5 year dual degree program it would begin in the 9th semester. As of 2024, most of the profiles offered by companies were related to either software development or data analytics. With a total of more than 200+ companies, including Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Google, Samsung and almost all the big tech companies you might've heard of, the average package offered was around 17lpa with the highest going around 2.4cr. Almost all of the students get placed by the end of phase 2 of placements which means that even if you have made a decent effort towards your placement, you will have a job before you graduate.

Placement Experience:
IIT Kharagpur is hub for industries when it comes to hire the work force. Over 500 companies including all the departments are available here and talking about our department from L&T to Patel Engineering all the big firms that needs mechanical engineers never look beyond IIT Kharagpur. Over 90% students are placed and average for Mechanical engineering is less that other departments as it stands at 15 or so lakhs per annum as of 2024.
Placement Experience:
The placements at IIT Kgp are one of the best in the country. There is a career development cell, which manages and conducts placements each year. The average package is 16 LPA. After 7th semester Btech students can sit for the placements and after 9th semester dual degree students can sit for the placements. My plan is to go for a corporate job after getting the degree

- The campus is complete in itself. Although it is in a small town Kharagpur, we have everything available inside the campus.
- The campus is lush green with very positive energy.
Dislikes
- The girl to boy ratio is very very poor.
- The campus is very competitive and demands your constant efforts. If you don't perform as per the requirement, you might get stressed.

Placement Experience:
The placement is good in IIT KGP in comparison to other colleges. People are eligible to sit for placements in their fourth year can sit for placements through CDC. The placements are held in two phases. In session 24-25, we have seen 1000+ offers to students in first phase. After getting degree, I would also go for doing job.
Likes
- The infrastructure of the collage is awesome. The main building of the collage is excellent infrastructure .
- The professors are taught us in a next level. They clear every topic and chapters in awesome way. The labs classes is awesome because there we do actual practicals.
Dislikes
- Some of the building in the collages are become old and they need some maintenance but the collage can not do this thing properly.
- The ratio of Girls: Boys is 1: 4 which is not so good.
Placement Experience:
If we discuss the campus placements then 4th and 5th year students getting campus placements. The companies that visited our campus are: - Google, Facebook, Infosys, Unacedmey, Apple, Qualcomm, Flipkart, Amazon, Tata Steel, Capital One, and many more. The number of offers made by the company in 2024-2025 is 1165 offers to 950 students. The highest package is 2.14 crore and the average salary is about 25 lakhs per annum. Every year mostly all the students get placed. If I talk about my plans then after getting my degree I prepare for the UPSE and IES exams.

- There are opportunities everywhere , if you have interest and discipline then you can do anything , campus will help you in every way
- The sports are pretty nice , in inter iit competitions we win a lot in many events
Dislikes
- The politics is too rough , there is so much reccomendation going on which makes a talent person feel useless if they don’t get in
- Since the acads and everything are too rough and too hectic , the culture becomes very toxic and people judge based on small things
Placement Experience:
Campus placements are quite good , 90 % will be placed and the remaining 10 % will also be placed unless they have no skills or cg , it is also quite luck based and unpredictable , my plans are doing mba in iim or go into pharma through core

- Campus is very big. Here the strength of student is 20k.
- Main building is very unique and this is very old IIT.
Dislikes
- Atmosphere is not good here. Raining everyday when ever the monsoon is there.
- Outside campus there is a village and no malls near.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I have taken 3 courses this year and the courses I have taken is as Transform calculus as this subject is mainly about math and linear alzebra. 2nd one is of Thin film and this is course of chemical deopartment \. and 3rd one is sports and well being.
Placement Experience:
Placement of the college is decent. Students usually get placed by the 7th semester and they can also opt for internship after the 5th semester that is in the third year. The placement statistics are department dependent but allover placement is decent.
Likes
- Here dressing is not compulsory and I like it.
- Hostel and connection with seniors is the best thing in this college.
Dislikes
- Here you can see and learn political thinking.
- Grading are too much bad. Bad grade are given.
Course Curriculum Overview:
Actually I want to say that if u want to choose this branch then IIT Kharagpur don't choose.here some professors are so bad like they give low grade and give too much F grade in few subjects and teaching style is so bad.

- Such a experienced professors and supporting staff.
Dislikes
- outside campus area is just like village
- old infrastructure which needs to be upgrade
