VGSOM Admission 2025

VGSOM Admission is mostly based on CAT scores for Indian candidates or GMAT / GRE for both National/International candidates. CAT 2026 will be conducted online on Nov 30, 2025. Applicants are responsible for ensuring that their application is complete and all the information provided in connection with their application is authentic & accurate. CAT score can be downloaded from the website.

CAT is conducted online and is accepted for admission in most of the institutes in India. Aspirants applying for CAT can apply for both CAT and VGSOM Admission from a single registration.

VGSOM Application Fees 2026 for candidates applying at VGSOM are given below:

General Information:

• Candidates may apply for more than one program.

• NRI/Foreign national/PIO & OCI nationals can apply through GMAT for all the programs.

• The shortlist of candidates for the interview based only on CAT Scores.

• MBA (Executive) candidates may apply by submitting CAT/GMAT or GRE.

VGSOM also considers CAT performance, relevant work experience, academic background, and extracurricular activities while preparing the final list of selected candidates. The list of selected candidates will be published on the official website of the institute.

VGSOM Application Process 2025

To apply for an MBA program at VGSOM,candidates must initially register and take the CAT exam by completing the form at iimcat.ac.in and choosing VGSOM as one of their preferred institutions. Following the CAT, applicants are required to apply separately through the VGSOM website by providing their academic records, work experience, and personal information, along with the necessary documents. Shortlisting is conducted based on CAT scores, academic performance, and work experience, and is followed by a Personal Interview that evaluates communication skills and motivation. The final selection process takes into account the CAT score, performance in the PI, and the overall strength of the candidate's profile. Those who are selected must finish the admission procedure and start the program by July/August.

Hostel Facilities

VGSoM students are provided accommodation in dedicated hostels (Halls of Residence) within the IIT Kharagpur campus. These hostels are well-maintained and come with amenities such as Wi-Fi connectivity, laundry services, water purifiers, reading rooms, and indoor recreational facilities. Rooms are usually single occupancy (for MBA) and furnished with a bed, study table, chair, and cupboard. Each hostel has a common room with a TV, newspapers, and sports equipment. Hostel allocation is done by the institute, and security is maintained round the clock.

Hostel Fee (approx.):INR 35600 per semester, including maintenance, electricity, and other service charges. A refundable caution deposit (INR 1,000–2,000) is also applicable at the time of joining.

Canteen & Mess

Each Hall of Residence has a dedicated mess, managed either by student committees or professional caterers, offering vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. The food is hygienically prepared and served in buffet format, with a focus on nutrition and variety. Students also have access to multiple food joints and cafeterias within the campus such as CCD, Subway, and local dhabas, especially around the Tech Market. The average monthly mess bill ranges from INR 2,800 to 3,500, depending on consumption and mess type. Special meals are available during festivals and events. Additionally, food delivery apps like Zomato and Swiggy are active in the area for convenience.
