What Students Say

Likes

The most loved thing is the environment here.
After that the classes here are so beautiful.
Finally the helipad area is the most loved place .

Dislikes

The food of each mess in the Hostels during on campus time is too bad
Then the course provided by the department.
The last semester has 5 courses + a research project work so huge pressure.

Course Curriculum Overview

See in first two semester one has to take all the subjects provided by department but from 2nd year they can choose their favourites subject though from the selected topics you can choose one or two or three subjects.

Internships Opportunities

I am doing master course here so the related questions not for us because we choose a internship in research background and hence we choose other universities or iits and iisc for the better opportunity

Placement Experience

From the last year students get placements from defferent sectors like industrial basis or educational type . Almost 20-30% students get placements every year with good package other choose different future plans.

Fees and Financial Aid

In first year it took 58 thousand rupees in first semester and 42 thousand rupees in second semester. In 2nd year it took 39 thousand rupees in first year and 45 thousand rupees in second year so in total around 2 lakh.

Campus Life

In every year there occurs two major fest one is tech fest another one is spring fest except that different department also make their own fests so that a large area of that particular subject can be explored in this departmental exam .

Hostel Facilities

Hostel maintainnance and cleanliness are good but a very bad experience that I have experienced in food quality. They don't change menu and all the things time after time no change is there not a good test not even hygienic

Admission

Other better colleges are there but I chose this because it was closer to my home hence I made this college as my first preference than others and selected this for my master's degree course in chemistry

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio is good but there are some professor who are so good they create huge pressure on student but some professors are very friendly and treat well they do make us to feel any trouble during taking his course.

Night Life

Gym, cafeterias library public areas all are fantastic you can spend a huge time there for better experience even library is so beautiful that in summer time you can spend whole time there for making preparations for your end semester.

Actually Some of the Local Companies & Private banks Offer placements which are averagely worth 250000/-. Some of the Students appear for it , but the Number is Very less. Actually In Present Circumstances , Most students wants a stable Government, Especially Central Gov job . So they Prepare for exams like SSC , SBI , IBPS, LIC , RRB etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements are quite good.But if you are looking for placement I would suggest to join M Stat or MSQE rather than M Math. M.Math students mostly go for higher studies. Regarding you will better recommendations in ISI.

Other colleges I applied for is IIT Delhi because it is nearer to my home and is well reputed college and have a great field in Tech.I opt this college because I am interested in Tech field. I finally chose IIT KGP beacuse it is providing me better branch than IIT Delhi and I got interested in this college beacuse my teacher in myh senior schoo is also from IIT KGP they taught me a lot of stories of there college time and I talked to some seniors of college for admissionb regarding prespective so they advised for IIT KGP.Therefore I chose IIT KGP over IIT Delhi.
